Goodyear wrangler kevlar lt 275/65r18 bought 4 from sullivan tire in bridgewater MA in 2019. Has normal average treadwear. Noticed my drivers side front tire kept losing air didn't notice any nails so I removed for inspection and noticed the inside sidewall peeling apart. I took pictures and took it into sullivan where they tried to say it was my fault due to tire shine. Im still dealing with sullivan I wanted to report because this can kill somebody.

Cooper discovery a/t 275/55r20 . The tire is splitting apart on the sidewall. Driver's side left front tire is splitting apart and passenger right rear is also splitting apart. Consulted with a mechanic he said this was extremely dangerous. Warn everyone. This could blow out causing a horrible wreck even death. Purchased the tires from walmart on 6-17-2021. . Took the truck to walmart. Walmart told me to return tomorrow because they didn't have anyone there that could make a decision. Please check your tires. These tires have only been installed on my truck for 52 days. Inspect your tires. Research tire companies before you purchase tires. I thought cooper was a good tire. I was wrong. After I realized my tires had started splitting on the sidewall earlier. Today. I knew this was serious. Googled cooper tire splitting. Cooper tire has had many incidents in the past with this type issue. . Reading this will hopefully save someone from serious injury or death.

I had a catostrophic sidewall failure of a goodyear wrangler duratrac tire (mdw8 b11v 4110) that had only 2140 miles on it. The tire failed at 35 mph but had to be driven about 100 feet to remove it safely from the roadway. I have a picture of the result if needed. Had this happened on the interstate the result would have been significant.

Michelin had a safety recall for dot b99y 56ex 3812-2113 of its ltx m/s p275/55r20 111t for "affected tires could have partial or full sidewall perforations that could cause them to experience loss of air pressure ' I purchased the ltx m/s p275/55r20 dot b79y 56ex 1913 made in the same time frame for my 2009 Ford F-150 on 06/08/2013. On August 23, 2016, while on a 70mph highway, I suffered a blowout. The entire anterior sidewall was affected with many chunks of the tire missing, while the interior sidewall was totally unaffected. I am careful with my tire pressures and rotation. None of the tires show uneven or odd wear. I don't believe I ran over anything. I have all four tires in my possession and available for inspection. I think michelin has a greater problem than the dot range of their voluntary recall. I think the dot needs to be aware of this so that if this proves to be a more widespread problem, michelin can be required to recall all affected tires.

The side wall of tires with approximately 30,000 miles and 4 years old are pealing off. I purchased 4 tires when the vehicle had a little over 30000 miles. 2 were ok. The other 2 the sidewall pealed off in chunks. I have pictures of the tires. Michelin offered 65% discount on new tires a year ago. 11 months and 10,000 miles later they offered only a 22% discount. They indicated I used up 43% of the tire life in 11 months and 10,000 miles.
Inside of tire sidewall suddenly cracked open leading to rapid pressure loss. This same tire has been recalled in other sizes for this same failure.

I took my 2009 Ford F-150 into les schwab for a tire rotation and they pointed out that all four of my hankook dynapro atm lt285/55-20 rf10 tires with dot # t7vwrfh4510 have approx. 1-1 1/2" cracks around the entire tire where the tread meets the sidewall. The tires have approximately 28,000 miles on them and still have aggressive tread life. Les schwab recommended replacing and did not have an answer as to why/how this occurred.
Hankook dynapro as p235-70-r17s tire with approximately 60% wear (according to Ford dealership where vehicle was purchased and tires replaced). During normal driving noticed abnormal bumping that appeared to be associated with tire or front end. Took vehicle to shop to check balance and wheel alignment. Tech found the above described tire had separated and the steel belting was protruding through the tread and top of sidewall. Tire was about to fail. Driver contacted hankook and forwarded a photograph of the tire to the representative. Hankook agreed to a 40% refund of the amount that Ford paid (not what I paid) for the tire if I would return the tire or a piece from it containing the dot number. Ford took the tire for return to hankook. Three weeks have passed and I have not heard back from Ford or hankook.

Purchased a new 2012 f150 with michelin ltx a/t2 tires 12000 miles and I noticed that they were dry rot between the tread lugs took back to dealer had them replaced now around 12000 mi. Later have same problem dry rot cracking between lugs and on sidewall I believe this tire has a problem and michelin needs to recall them before some innocent person is injured or killed. How many times are we going to replace something defective with something defective.
Michelin ltx at2 tires. Excessive cracking. Tires with 30,000 miles on them and well over one-half tread remaining have developed widespread sidewall cracks. Cracks are more than cosmetic, you can actually feel raised bumps if you run your hand over them. The cracks seem severe enough that I am concerned about tire failures, particularly at highway speeds. Internet search shows many similar complaints, and evidence that michelin has been quietly offering discounted replacements to those who complain directly to them. I recently filed a complaint on their website but have not heard back. This problem is widespread enough that a more formal program on michelin's part seems warranted.

Hankook dynapro atm 285/55/r20 tires developing severe sidewall crack. Purchased 4 about a year ago. Had to replace 2 this spring and now have to replace 2 more again which means I will have spent an additional $800 for adjustments. Tires are religiously checked and are rotated every 10,000 miles.

On may 23, 2012 we purchased a new Ford F-150 from beechmont Ford in cincinnati and took title in the state of kentucky. The truck was fitted with 4 pirelli scorpion tires. Within the first 3000 miles we had 3 sidewall tire failures. With the first side wall failure we thought it was just bad luck and had to buy another matching tire for over $200. 00. We subsequently had 2 more sidewall failures and were forced to buy a full set of new tires at a cost of over $1300. 00 pirelli has consistently denied and blame and refused any form of reimbursement. When my wife returned the first tire to beechmont Ford, she was approached by another customer who was there with a pirelli new sidewall tire failure. A month or so later, I was having the oil changed on the truck and I was telling the oil crew about the pirelli tire nightmare and the guy in the “pit” asked if the tires were “pirelli scorpion tires” and I said yes, why? he responded “a lady was just in here with the same sidewall flat tire on a new Cadillac. Pirelli consistently denies any knowledge of a problem and they did not bother to ask for a lot number. I figure I am out 2 roadside flat tires, $1300 in new tires on a new truck that was not off/road, accidential discoveries of the same issue with the same tire from other owners and yet, pirelli denies all. Hopefully, others may be spared this expense and inconvience and risk and pirelli is forced to stand behind their products and their warranty.
Tl- the contact owns a 2003 Ford F-150 equipped with bf goodrich long trail t/a. The contact stated that all four tires had severe cracks and had dry rotted in the tread and sidewalls. The store at which the tires were bought were contacted and stated that they nor the manufacturer were responsible for the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage on the tires was 38,000 and the vehicle failure mileage 150,000. Dt.
Hankook dynapro at p234/75r17 on my Ford F-150 had a inside sidewall blow out. Tire failure, bad cord, did not hit anything in the road. Dot number on tire dot:t79jpcyh 1410.
The factory install tires on my f150 fx4 - pirelli scorpion tires failed originally around 10,000 miles. Reported to dealer, they advised the tires were ok. Had no issues. Sidewalls started to crack in multiple places on all 4 tires, tires looked weather checked, and finally had them replaced within 2 weeks of original report. Tires were replaced by dealer for replacement pirelli scorpion tires - alternate tire option request was declined. These were replaced under Ford's warranty. The replacement pirelli scorpion tires started to fail again at 30,000 miles on the truck ( only 20,000 on the tires). Replacement tires were date coded only a few months old, and were also cracking on the sidewalls in the same fashion as the original tires. Per reading information on f150forum. Com - this is a rather common occurrence with this tires.
Goodyear wrangler tire failure. I have 235/17/70 tires on my f150. The sidewalls are peeling, revealing white. . . I have had two sidewall failures resulting in highway blowouts. The remaining two tires appear to be destined for the same fate. Additionally, the tread is showing premature wear. I will be replacing the tires with another brand.

general tire "ameritrac tr". Design failure. Tire is prone to tiny punctures on the sidewall about one inch (1") below the tread. Two tires on my 2008 F-150 suffered the same damage. Both punctures were about at the same location, the first at about 2,000 miles. The second at about 20,500 miles. The tires were on different wheel positions on the vehicle when punctures occurred. With damage on sidewalls, both tires were irreparable. Tires came on new vehicle on 17 inch rims. VIN#[xxx] ,
I am replacing all tires with goodyear mtr w/kevlar. Vehicle was on routine use. It was driven on roads, not off-road. It was driven on dirt roads. Both failures became apparent while vehicle operated on pavement.

The contact owns a 2003 Ford F-150. The vehicle has goodyear wrangler tires, size p235/70r16. The contact stated that the sidewalls of all five (including spare) tires were defective. They looked as if someone had taken a knife and cut around the tires. He took the vehicle in for a tire rotation and oil change, which is when the defective tires were discovered. Initially, the manufacturer was going to replace the tires; however, the contact was not so certain at the time of the complaint. The current and failure mileages were approximately 61,000.

2005 Ford F-150 with ameritac tr owl tires has a disintegrating sidewall. Customer states tire manufacturer referred to the problem as run flat which caused the tire to fail. Inspection of the tire prior to sending it to the manufacturer showed that there was no indications of punctures or holes in the tire tread over the range of the tread pattern including the remainder of the intact sidewall. The tire bead was intact and not damaged on both the inner and outer sidewalls, although the outer sidewalls had disintegrated and mostly missing. There was no indication of a long term wear pattern due to under inflation. Examination of the tire after the failure showed the outer sidewall reinforcing piles were missing and the tire failure was potentially the result of a defect in the tire.
First - tire not listed on this complaint form - continental contitrac owl p255/65r17. Driving 60mph on 2-lane hwy - saw smoke & then front right tire popped. Truck pulled hard to right. Luckily there wasn't a ditch or barrier because truck probably would have rolled with possible injuries. Contacted Ford dealer because I had purchased tire warranty when truck (f150) was purchased new in Nov 2004. They said there was no recall on my year truck/tire p255/65r17 contitrac. They said they would have to call insurer of warranty to see if covered. 3/4 of sidewall blew out! I will be going to Ford dealer 3/28/07.
