Radiator problems of the 1999 Ford F-250

Two problems related to radiator have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Radiator problem

Failure Date: 11/16/2010

The contact owns a 1999 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving 35 mph the vehicle started overheating. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who stated the radiator needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the radiator and immediately after the vehicle was repaired the vehicle started to overheat again. The contact took the vehicle to a different dealer who informed the contact that the head gasket was cracked. The contact called the manufacturer regarding the cracked head gasket and they stated there was no recall; therefore, there were unable to offer any assistance. The contact stated this was a common failure with his year, make, and model. The failure mileage was 167,000.

2 Radiator problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2007

1999 Ford F-250 with transmission problems. Consumer had this problem repaired. She was then informed that there was a TSB that she never knew about. Ford is refusing to reimburse her for the repairs. The consumer stated the manufacturer was fully aware of the transmission problem, but failed to notify their customers. The problem was the fluid would overheat during severe duty and wear out the torque converter, which resulted in the radiator, cooler lines and hoses for the transmission to be replaced. The stabilizer bar link and battery were replaced.
