Clutch Pedal/linkage problems of the 2001 Ford F-250

Five problems related to clutch pedal/linkage have been reported for the 2001 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2007

- the contact owns a Ford F-250 super duty, and stated while vehicle was in a parking lot he stepped on the clutch and the pedal fell all the way to the floor. The stud to which the cylinder connected to sheared off. Updated 03/02/07.

2 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2006

The clutch hydraulics spontaneously failed while driving in traffic. One day the clutch was perfectly normal. The next day, I was driving to the store and the clutch pedal stuck to the floor a couple times. I had to manually lift the pedal. Even with the pedal depressed, the clutch began to engage. There is no evident leakage. The vehicle has 90k miles, mostly highway. I believe this happened at around 20k-30k miles but corrected itself. I can't find a record of the repair but now that it is happening again, I recall it happening before. Vehicle is now in shop.

3 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2003

I have a 2001 Ford F-250 diesel with a 6 speed manual transmission. The hydraulic clutch system has went out 3 times in less than a year. This past time the truck started pulling out into oncoming traffic on it's own while the clutch pedal was pressed to the floor. I had my 17 month daughter with me and we were almost hit! this is an unsafe system and something needs to be done about it before someone gets injured or even killed!!.

4 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2002

Without warning the hydraulic line from the master clutch cylinder ?term came off and rendering the clutch completely useless (pedal went to the floor and stayed there). Was luckily in a parking lot just about to pull onto a highway with a 4000 lb trailer. Realized how dangerous that could have been. Forrest cate Ford in lafayette, GA says the part they are replacing it with is updated so that the line doesn't do that. This should be a recall. If that happened on the highway with zero warning, I could have had problems stopping quickly or controlling the vehicle. I was lucky but want no one else to be unlucky. Thank you.

5 Clutch Pedal/linkage problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2001

Hose blew out of the bottom of clutch master cyclinder due to the keeper pin missing. This caused the clutch pedal to go to the floor and remain there. If there would have been an obsticle in front of the vehicle it would have been hit.
