When im in traffic, starting out driving or merging between intersections my truck decides to either hard shift or not shift at all. Several times ive had to lay on my horn in an attempt to warn oncoming vehicles that I have no power and cannot accelerate and several times it has nearly caused an accident. I purchased the truck used and have yet to take it into the dealership to have them inspect the issue though from what I’ve read thus far is that Ford calls this problem “normal operation” and has been less than understanding when people attempt to have this obvious defect resolved. There are no warning lights that come on when this happens. I can have my truck inspected by whomever, whenever need be. I will also be returning to the dealer to use my warranty to help deal with this issue. The date this most recently happened causing a near miss was today, though there has been an occasional but recurring situation almost weekly.
Parked vehicle at main post office , removed keys, I know this because it has my pobox key on key ring. I hopped out and stated to walk off, then I glanced a view to the right, and noticed or thought I noticed, my truck rolling backwards. It was !!! I chased my truck and caught up to it, and attempted hop in and engage foot brake. I am to fat and slow to do that, so I thought quickly, , ah ha, the emergency brake . I reached down and let the truck roll the er brake to my hand, and engage it I called the Ford dealer, no know issues like this has happened, so I was told. So maybe this was an 1 off event,,,, right wrong several month later, same thing happen, different location. Although I catch before I got out. This time I took a video of the roll back, and the snifter in park, and the keys out.
For the r4100 transmission. The external transmission filter came apart and destroyed my transmission (Ford part # xc3z-7b155-ba) definitely not a 30,000 mile filter. Not many people know anything about this,of what I have found. There was a easy 80,000 left in the trans if lines and oil ports weren't plugged from filter fibers. #2 the paint cancer (white) is there any recalls or help with that?.
While driving my 2001 Ford f250 5. 4 l v8 engine powered truck the second (2nd) spark plug on the passenger side of the engine blew out (was ejected) from the head. This was an original spark plug on the 2001 f250 truck with 75300 original miles on it.
I have a 2001 Ford f250 sd crew/4x4 and there is something wrong with the front end steering system. Today was the second time that my truck began to shimmy and shake so hard that at 55mph by the time I got the truck slowed to about 15mph I was over into the lane of the on coming traffic (luckly no one was there). The other day with my wife in the truck we turned a corner and the truck started to shimmy really hard and I lost some response control of the truck the steering became somewhat unresponsive, and I was forced to allow the truck to track into the baily post office parking lot. Something is wrong with my truck but the mechanics tell me that there is nothing wrong with it that they can find. The truck does not do this all the time, it comes and goes, sometimes it happens almost every time I drive it and then it can go weeks without happening. I worked as a mechanic for 25 years and I am telling you this is a very dangerous problem with this truck and I know that you have received hundreds maybe even thousands of complaints about this same problem with the Ford f-series trucks and Ford should be held accountable for such a bad design flaw that can causes a light shimmy to total loss of control of these trucks at any time while driving, which may cause serious harm or even death to the owner. My wife will not even ride in the truck any more because she is too scared to do so. Thank you for time and consideration. Gary.
The 2001 f250 I own has always stalled at any given time. Ford recalled the cam position sensor, I had already changed it just before recall then they did again. That never stopped it from stalling, it also doesn't read when you sometimes go to take off. I've changed (throttle switch) that did nothing. All of its mishaps has cased thousands of dollars in repair. Alawys broke down and can't make money when it's impossible to drive truck time after time. I have been in several close call accidents, when I lose powersteering and almost have crashed into cars. I figured out the fuel tank flaking off inside the tank could be the cause. The truck gets terrible fuel mileage when this happens costing a fortune in wasted diesel fumes. That have been know to cause brain cancer, also the amount of pollution from not running proper. I am no fan of Ford's repair shop when they tell you in 1983 to my father that his almost brand new diesel needs new (spark plugs) when diesel do not even have them. I own this 2001 diesel for a long time now for a landscaping and snowplowing that is out of business. It is embarrassing for it to stall, rev up slipping transmission, harming whole drive train. Never knowing when I'm could be stranded in northern michigan. I have had one thing after another with the Ford I own. I have seen a lot of same problems people are complaining about. Sounds like Ford has done good at covering up problem by not telling us if they knew. I thought the fuel problem came from gas stations. Only thing helped me was mostly same newer station, and tried to keep it full helped. Can anyone help, these are dangerous situations when lives depend on them. I'm not sure what to do with the truck, I'd like to see it go to scrap at this time. With 277,000 not even rusted out much. It needs whole drive train again, I don't want the oily leaking, polluting junk on the road.
