Steering Column problems of the 2007 Ford F-250

Two problems related to steering column have been reported for the 2007 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2008

The contact owns a 2007 Ford F-250. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began to shake violently. The failure would recur intermittently. The vehicle was serviced by an authorized dealer on numerous occasions where the gear box and steering column were replaced. The failure continued to recur intermittently and the vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. The failure continued to recur when driving between 40-60 mph. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 26,000 and the current mileage was 60,000.

2 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Ford F-250 sd. The contact noticed that the steering column and wheels vibrate abnormally. Speed was not a factor during the failures. His control of the vehicle was significantly reduced. He took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the failure was a normal characteristic of the vehicle. He called the manufacturer and is waiting for a response. The failure mileage was 300 and current mileage was 31,100.
