Steering Wheel Vibrate problems of the 2007 Ford F-250

Three problems related to steering wheel vibrate have been reported for the 2007 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Steering Wheel Vibrate problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2009

I own and drive a Ford f250 super duty 4-wheel drive truck. I have on more than twenty (20) occasions experienced a severe suspension and steering wheel vibration, causing me to lose control of my vehicle. This occurred during the period 5/15/2009 through 1/15/2010. This only occurs at speeds over 55 mph on the highway when I cross over uneven road surfaces, like an overpass or a change in pavement type. The vibration is so severe that the only way to stop it is to slow dramatically to less than 30 mph and move out of the traffic lanes. The vibration does not stop unless I slow the vehicle. I have attempted to keep the vehicle on the road without slowing down, but the vibration continued for more than 45 seconds. I have addressed this with my local Ford dealer. They were unable to duplicate the event. On one occasion they could not address it because they did not have a truck specialist on site that day. My vehicle is at the Ford dealer today to have this addressed, but based on previous experience, I do not feel they will acknowledge or address the problem. The problems first occurred when the vehicle had approximately 28,000 miles. All service on my vehicle has been performed at Ford dealers, so they have records of my complaints. It is my understanding from speaking to several people at my local Ford dealer that the problem may be related to a sensor in the rear-end which is associated with the 4-wheel drive system. All of these events occurred while the vehicle was in 2-wheel drive mode. I am greatly concerned about my safety and the safety of other motorists when driving this vehicle at highway speeds. If the issues continue, it is likely that the vibration will cause me to lose control of my vehicle leading to an accident, and at highway speeds, it is likely to involve injuries or death.

2 Steering Wheel Vibrate problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2008

Ea08007 complaint truck hits uneven paved road at 55 mph or faster on the freeway, and starts a violent shaking that is only stopped when slowing down via heavy braking, or by no acceleration. Entire truck and all four wheels, including the steering wheel shake violently.

3 Steering Wheel Vibrate problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2008

The contact owns a 2007 Ford f250. While driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle drove over a small patch in the road. The steering wheel began to shake violently and the contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle skidded onto the side of the road. Afterwards, the contact drove another five miles to his destination. The VIN was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 4,000.
