At 89,000 approx. Miles, the clock spring in the steering failed and all buttons became useless on the wheel. The mechanic states it must be repaired ASAP as this will cause the airbag to either not deploy or randomly deploy while driving. This was a recall on f150s and should be a recall on the f250 as well since this is extremely dangerous for myself as well as other drivers. Due to it �not� being a recall, I was told by Ford they just had a bad run of vehicles around that time and since it hasn't been recalled then we would just have to pay for the repair over $500 to ensure my safety, but the new ones supposedly are much better. Ed sherling Ford claimed they just built bad vehicles then and had lots of electrical and safety issues. Sounds like the oversight authority failed to do its job with domestic vehicles. Probably why most people want foreign vehicles instead as they're held to a higher standard with better oversight that laid back union bosses in yachts pretending to handle their business here in the states. Sad America can't build a decent vehicle anymore. We were once the greatest, but now. . . We gotta get it cheap to ensure an 8 figure salary for some. Absolutely pathetic this was missed in such an expensive vehicle.

A van lost control in heavy rain merging onto a very busy interstate and crossed 2 lanes of traffic before entering my 3rd lane. I have read online that is happens alot in the 03-06 f250, and when Ford fixed my truck they replaced the fuse box, driver side air bag and horn assembly(at a cost of 1486. 80). Hello, my name is victor gostomski. I have a CO worker, robert moreno, that has experienced an accident in his F-250 Ford pick up about a month ago. Basically, it was a accident where he was hit, slid into another car, and then into a ditch. The catch is his air bags never deployed, even though he was traveling at highway speed, totaling his truck in the ditch. Luckily, neither he nor his child were hurt. The catch is he has shared his story and found two others that experienced the same results. I asked him why he didn't get a lawyer on it. His reply was a lawyer told him it would cost him more than he'd ever receive for his time. The lawyer also said that unless someone is killed there is no real recourse. So, he is out the money he has been paying on the truck for the last 1+ year. My real problem is not what he is out of pocket for the vehicle. Rather, why are the bags not deploying. These are safety items that have a premium price attached to them, and something that is touted as making a vehicle safer. The fact that this does not appear to be as isolated as one would think is also disconcerting. Also, why should anyone loose their life due to manufacturing defects. On 9/28/05 I had an accident with my 1999 Ford pickup. I hit a utility pole. The damage was to the center of the front of the truck. The air bag did not deploy. According to the police report speed was estimated at about 40 mph. I received a concussion from hitting the steering wheel with my head and am still having problems related to the injury. If the air bag had deployed the injury may have been prevented.

Abs brakes, air bags, and fuel system failed. At 4700 miles they replaced the entire brake system. Had it a mechanic shop and discovered it was the abs.
