The issue is the Ford death wobble. It has happened to me four times now in the past two months. The first two times, I was not sure what it was. After the third, I called my local Ford dealership and informed them. They scheduled a time and I was to bring it there. The day before I was supposed to bring it, it did it again. The first time it happened, I was driving 70mph on a 65mph highway, going over a bridge when the truck started to shake profusely causing the steering wheel to jerk left and right. I had zero control over the truck. I began to slowly mash the break while being violently shaken and bounced around for a hundred yards, bouncing in and out of my lane. Luckily, there was no traffic at this time and I stopped without harm to any individual. I chalked it up to a scary incident and went about my business. Second time I was going over a bumpy road at 55mph when again, the truck began to violently shake and bounce out of control until I could get it to stop in the ditch on the side of the road. After taking it to a Ford dealer, they informed me of a few things that needed to be done and replaced, which we did. Four days after getting the truck back and “fixed” I was hauling my trailer and equipment for work when going 45min over a bumpy road, the truck began to again, violently shake and bounce until I could come to a stop. I took it back to the Ford dealership and they now recommend replacing all wheel bearings and damper assembly. They assured me the first time, the problem would be fixed. Have already spent $2,300 on them attempting to fix it and now they are recommending another fix of over $1,800 but now telling me, “it might not fix the issue. ” I have a family. I am terrified I am going to harm myself or another individual while operating this f250. Ford wants me to dump money into a problem that they are aware of but refuse to make right. This issue, if not fixed, could kill myself or another individual or seriously harm someone.

Returning home from the denver airport on e470 with my wife and 2 young children (3 and 7) on 09 oct 22. We were traveling westbound and reached the on-ramp to I-25 s and I slowed to 55mph. It is a long sweeping on-ramp and after driving over a bridge expansion joint the truck began to shake violently. The steering wheel shook violently, tires felt like they were bouncing and oscillating back and forth. I began to slow the truck as we were bouncing to the right towards the right shoulder of the road uncontrollably. I was able to avoid sliding off of the right lane of the ramp and regained some control once we slowed down to 20mph. I pulled to the side to regain my (and my family’s) composure and check the truck for damage. Front track bar and bushings felt wobbly and loose but still attached. We were 5 miles from home so we drove slowly the rest of the way without incident. I am calling my dealership today to see what can be done as the truck seems unsafe to be driven. A quick google search and it seems this is a very common problem with these trucks. Thankfully I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop without a major accident/incident but had it happened anywhere else and who knows what could have happened.

While traveling, extreme violent shaking of vehicle while driving east on busy interstate 24, between paducah, ky and knoxville, TN. Our destination is myrtle beach. We were driving 70 mph, road had multiple bumps, weather & road conditions were dry . Traffic was heavy. Time of occurrence was approximately 9-10 am. Very scary,. While holding both hands firmly on steering wheel to attempt to keep truck straight and slow down while trying to get over to side of road to evaluate. Called Ford service, they were familiar with this issue. We inquired if safe to continue driving. Service advisor indicated it was ok to drive as long as we don’t go to fast and avoid bumps and bridge bumps. Inquired if they were familiar with issues, they indicated they were familiar with this issue. Appointment made for next day to evaluate. Spoke to beach Ford myrtle beach. Occurred total of 3 times on our trip.
Experiencing violent shaking in steering when at speed, seems to be at 55mph and higher, that could cause loss of control of vehicle. Seems to be brought about from hitting bumps in road which activates violent shaking. Only remedy is to slow down immediately which could be impossible in some traffic situations. After research, found out this is a known problem in my year of truck, 2017 f250 super duty. There are no lamps or otherwise warnings that the problem is about to occur. I have not brought the vehicle in to be fixed at this time but plan on doing so shortly. This is my only vehicle and the problem seems to be getting worse since first experience.
Violent shaking of the whole truck and steering wheel when the truck hits a bump in the road driving between 60-75 mph. Ford replaced worn put parts and said they could not replicate the problem and everything is good. Driving down the same stretch of high way that causes the death wobble caused the problem again. I almost caused an accident from the sudden reduction in speed in order to regain control of my truck. The service advisor said it could be possble the tires are not balanced, so I had the tires rotated and balanced. Immediately after I left the dealership this incident occurred.

Right after we bought the truck after 35000 miles in 2017 it started to have the *death wobble* . After bringing it to the shop several times, they finally replaced during extended warranty at ~72000 miles steering damper, ball joints and some parts. This prevented the death wobble for about 30000 miles. . . And then after that it progressively worsens now. After contacting the dealership who did the replacements. . . We were told that the warranty on it expired. . This should be a recall from Ford.
The truck suddenly shakes violently when hitting a dip in the road around 50 to 60 mph. You must hit the brakes and slow considerably to stabilize the truck. This is extremely dangerous and is a Ford design issue. My son has a new f250 and it does the exact same thing. This has happened to me 4 times within the last 6 mos.

This is the 6th time this has happened. All driving speeds from 60-75 mph. Will hit a random bump in the road and the front end will go in to a severe death wobble. When this happens you cannot steer the vehicle, or stop it easily. The only way to make it stop is to get slowed down to 20 mph or so. We have had it at the dealership we’ve purchased it from several times with no fix yet. It has become scary to drive for both me and my wife. Ford should have a recall out before it kills anybody.

On our most recent trip, our Ford truck a 2007 f250 model experienced what is called the death wobble, where the front shakes violently. Which occurs in speeds of 70 or higher, when it hits a bump the front end shakes violently. It has happened in the past when we were on vacation. The dealer could not find the cause. It is now at the dealer again, to see what can be done. There is a known class action suit filed in 2019. For Ford f250 & f350 models from 2005 to 2019. Ford knew about it but did not inform any owners. We are wanting to get this on record so you can monitor Ford to see what they are doing about it. It is a shame that people pay big bucks for the trucks and Ford won't tell owners about it or find a true fix. We are also going to file on the class action suit that is out there. Please make Ford accountable, to save lives.

Violent wobble when going 50mph and above. Lost control.
I was driving on the highway and the front of the truck started to shake uncontrollably. I thought maybe I hit something. Then a little while longer it did it again when I hit a bump. Thank goodness not a lot of cars around I had to turn on my blinkers and try to pull over . No warning lights no bells no whistles nothin happen before or after. Then on August 29,2021 it happened again this time a busy road . Cars behind me almost ran into me I don’t remember any bumps in the road at all . There was no warning ,!scared me. Next time might not be so lucky . I called the Ford dealer and he has made an appointment to see the truck in over a week . Guess we just keep driving and pray it doesn’t happen and no one dies . Thanks Ford .
I was driving down the highway at 70 mph and hit a bump in the road where there was repaving going on. As soon as I hit the bump, the truck and steering wheel began shaking incredibly hard to the point where the truck was hard to control. It felt like I had a tire that had gone completely flat. I slowed down and got off on the shoulder of the road and had to come to a complete stop to get the shaking to stop. I got out, walked around the truck and couldn't find any issues. I got back in the truck and drove down to the next exit, getting up to about 60 mph with no issues. The next morning I had the same issue occur again in a very similar situation.
I was traveling at approximately 75 mph when I went over a bump on the highway and the front of the truck began to violently shake (death wobble) and almost causing me to lose control of the vehicle. I took the truck to my dealership and they said that the track bar ball joint and the steering dampener had excessive play in them. This truck only had just a little over 54,000 miles on it at the time. I had no warning that there was a problem prior to the very traumatizing wobble.

My pickup has what is called the "death wobble".
My truck is very dangerous to use because once you get to 30mph and hit a little bump I mean a little bump it starts shaking badly and very dangerous. It also does it while on the hwy. At 60mph OH my god I dont recommend to anyone to but this kind of trucks. Its not only me theres is alot of people with the same problem and there is no recall or anything for this. . . What should I do. . This death wobble thing is just so out of control that the tires want to fall off or something. . Thers has to be something done.
Front passenger side lower track bar brackets will shear off and break leaving track bar floating in front end. This can occur on low mileage vehicles and is reported many times on the internet but no one seems to do anything about it. This is very dangerous and can lead to a rollover of the vehicle. It has happend so many times that aftermarket companies such as autofab in CA. Are making aftermarket kits to repair the broken brackets now.

At highway speeds 50-70mph driving over a pothole or bridge expansion joint. Usually if the right front tire hits first it sends the truck into an extremely violent shaking with loss of steering control. The tires start bouncing so hard that they leave the pavement. It will yank the steering wheel out of your hand if you are not paying attention. The only way to regain control is to brake hard down to about 30mph. This is rediculously dangerous in so many ways. I can not believe there is not a recall on this. With a little research on the internet you will find there are numerous similar complaints about the front end of the 2006 Ford f250 I have the proper tires with proper inflation I had a new steering gear box put on with a new power steering uni. T the problem is becoming more frequent I just got back from a 300 mile trip this happened 8-10 times and if traffic patterns were any differant this potential recall would have killed my whole family and somebody elses! p. S. There are numrrous people out there who have spent thousands of dollars trying to fix this engineering flaw without any success.

2005 Ford F-250 super cab super duty wobble dangerously when driving over the slightest ripple or bump in the road over 50 mph. Extremely hard to control and hard to stop the vehicle when the front tires are so out of control and wobbling. The whole truck is like it is in an earthquak, windshield cracks and cup holders fell out.

2005 Ford F-250 super duty, 69,000 miles. Traveling approx 65 mph, hit a small bump in the highway and the front suspension started to shake uncontrollably. I very nearly lost complete control of the truck. This never happened before, but has happened twice since. The tire pressure was correct at the time of the first incident, the tires were balanced and the lug nuts were torqued to Ford specs. Replaced front steering damper, did not resolve the problem. Talked to the Ford dealer and they denied any knowledge of a similar problem. After a few hours research online, this problem is well documented and frequent with the Ford super duty line from 05"-08". It seems to be an engineering defect and Ford is well aware of the problem, but it does appear that Ford has offered any remedies. The NHTSA also knows of the problem. I viewed four NHTSA videos that demonstrated the identical problem that I am experiencing with my truck. I have found no action on the part of the NHTSA. This problem needs to be acknowledged and corrected before someone is killed.
I have a 2006 f250 super duty truck that will have violent front end shakes after hitting a pot hole at average road speeds (55-70). It has occurred while towing and during normal driving without towing. When it occurred I had to immediately pull of to the side of the road to regain control of the truck. I believe this to be a very unsafe condition that Ford needs to resolve.
Speed about 65 to 70 mph, traveling down an interstate. Came to a bridge joint on road and truck felt as if I lost front tire or something. Slowed down and parked truck on side of road. Everything appeared fine after inspection. Continued trip with no further problems, I just kept it at 55 the rest of trip. No mods to the truck, all factory.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-250. The contact was driving approximately 60 mph and drove over a pot hole when the entire vehicle began to vibrate violently and caused the driver to almost lose control of the vehicle. The failure was experienced on an intermittent basis. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they advised him that they were unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
Uncontrollable wobble to vehicle after hitting bump on freeway at 65 mph. Not first time and lucky I didn't end up off the freeway. Had service done at Ford dealership for the same problem in Aug 2010, replaced camber casting and two wheel alignment, and tire presuure. Problem is back.
My 17 yr old son has an '06 Ford F-250 sd cc lariat 4x4 truck, which I purchased 12/09. He began complaining about this front end "death wobble" everyone else is complaining about. A mechanic replaced the bushings in the front to resolve the problem, which cost $210. But it didn't fix the problem, my son complained again a week later and his new tires purchased fall 2010 were basically bare. So I drove the truck through downtown atlanta on I-85, when I hit a bump in the hov lane at 58 mph in a curve. The front end began shaking so violently I could barely maintain my lane and had cars beside, front & rear of me. This wobble caused a huge cup of change in the dash cupholder to spew like a busted water pipe. We just put new bf goodrich tires on, but I'm concerned these won't last a year either. How can it be fixed? I'm very worried for my son's safety. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen for Ford, and this particular website has a blethera of complaints about the same death wobble.
I have had 3 incidents of what I have found to be called the "death wobble" in my 2005 F-250 4 door crew cab 4 wheel drive pick up truck where the front end of the vehicle goes into a violent bouncing and shuddering after passing over a bridge joint or similar uneven spot on the highway while traveling approx. 65 mph. This resulted in a near loss of control and could not be stopped until I was able to slow to approx. 35mph. This caused a near collision with a vehicle alongside me as well as a near rear ending from the vehicle behind me as I had to slow to 35mph in the high speed lane. Each time this occurred I had my 2 young daughters in the vehicle with me. I have read that there is a problem with the track bar being at an improper angle to the drag link? I understand that this is an inherent problem with many year model Fords and they refuse to acknowledge or fix the problem. I am currently looking for an aftermarket fix as I believe this is a serious safety issue which could cause loss of control and accident.
