1 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2017 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 12/15/2020

Severe cases of the death wobble. Hit the slightest bump in the road going over 50 and the steering wheel shakes uncontrollably until you slow down to 10-20 mph. I have almost been in 3 wrecks now on the interstate from this issue. Ford told me the steering stabilizer bar is or backorder until mid January. I have a 60k truck I can't drive and not positive the steering dampner will even fix the issue.

3 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2012 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 07/11/2020

Having an uncontrolableshake in the front suspension. Have replaced stabilizer bar once but continues having same problem. Have researched and is known as "death wobble". Started happening at around 60,000 miles. Am up to 135,000 miles and continues to have same problems. It tends to happen at higher speeds and you hit a problem spot in road. You cannot brake just have to slow on it's own before becoming more stationary. Will eventually cause accident or even death for occupants as well as surrounding vehicles.

4 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2017 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 12/23/2019

Problem with the vehicle shaking violently on the highway sometimes at speed of 70mph. Dealer claimed it was my tires. I complained about the issue with 26k miles on truck and after the third complaint they changed stabilizer bar and bushings, but did not fix the issue. Date below is the most recent date (aka death wabble).

5 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2018 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 11/02/2019

A residual vibration after hitting a bump started in Feb 2019 at 8. 6k miles. Dealership replaced damper assembly. All good for a while then vibration with hitting a bump started again in oct 2019 at 25k miles. On 11/2/19 at 26k miles at 70 mph experienced severe/violent shaking in the steering wheel and had to slam on brakes to stop it and bring truck under control. The Ford dealership replaced the damper assembly again and the stabilizer bar. Still had the residual vibration after a bump, took back in to dealership on 12/4/19 and they could not duplicate customer concern. On 12/11/19 and 12/16/19 at highway speeds on I-87 between albany and glens falls, NY, I again experienced severe and violet vibration/shaking in the steering wheel. I had a difficult time keeping the truck in the lane I was traveling in and again had to immediately brake hard in heavy traffic to bring the truck back under control. Brought to a different dealership and now being told that despite 1/2 the tread life remaining on the tires that Ford is recommending replacing the tires and that an alignment is needed. This dealership is refusing to do alignment unless we replace all 4 tires. At this time the truck has 27k miles on it. I cannot understand how Ford can continue to deny this is a major safety issue with their trucks with all of evidence supporting otherwise.

Failure Date: 06/04/2019

I have a 2006 Ford f250 super duty 4x4 pick up w/ 61. 00 miles , that has a death wobble when driving over 45 mph. I have replaced both hubs and seals, shocks, steering damper, stabilizer bar links and inner & outer tie rods. Have had the tires balanced twice and a front end alignment. Does this fall under a recall? I have seen service bulletins on this. They seem to have replaced the same parts that I did. Is there a fix, as this is very dangerous? this death wobble happens every day, smooth or rough roads.

8 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2017 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 01/16/2019

My truck has less than 16,000 miles. I have experienced death wobble on six (6) separate occasions between January 16 and March 18, 2019. All instances occurred at speeds between 60 and 70 mph. Five of the instances occurred on rough roads, state highways and interstate highways. One instance occurred as I went over an expansion joint on an interstate highway bridge. The wobble results in a very violent shaking of the entire front end of the truck and the steering wheel. It feels as if the driver loses complete control of any steering abilities until you are able to slow down to a speed of less than 50 mph. This truck was purchased nine months ago as a new vehicle from courtesy Ford in sauk city, WI. The dealer replace what they described as a stabilizer bar on its first attempt to fix the problem. It is now at courtesy Ford for a second time as they continue to try to fix this problem. I purchased this heavy duty truck in order to safely pull our fifth wheel camper and I no longer feel safe driving this truck.

11 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2005 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 04/21/2008

This morning I was driving my 2005 f250 4x4 about 40 mph when it started a death wobble. I had to pull over and came to a complete stop. I looked at the tires to determine if I lost a balance weight. I then proceeded about a half mile and stopped at a local store. When I left the death wobble started again. I keep the truck below 40mph and headed to the store where I purchased my tires. It happened again as I was entering the freeway. I again had to stop and pull over. I keep the truck below 40mph and arrived at the tire store where they balanced the front tires. When I left I again entered the freeway and the "death wobble" started again. I keep the truck below 40mph and used surface streets to get to the Ford dealership where I purchased my truck. I will have the results tomorrow after over $700 worth of repairs. If I was towing my fifth wheel I think there would have been a bad traffic accident.

13 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 1999 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 10/01/2007

1999 Ford F-250 with transmission problems. Consumer had this problem repaired. She was then informed that there was a TSB that she never knew about. Ford is refusing to reimburse her for the repairs. The consumer stated the manufacturer was fully aware of the transmission problem, but failed to notify their customers. The problem was the fluid would overheat during severe duty and wear out the torque converter, which resulted in the radiator, cooler lines and hoses for the transmission to be replaced. The stabilizer bar link and battery were replaced.

15 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 1997 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 06/01/2000

Both these retaining bolts failed. In the first instance I noticed a bolt hanging down from the front end on the passenger side. I do not know when the failure occurred. In the second instance, the shop owner noticed the driver's side bolt was missing. He commented that he looks for this item on Ford f150 and f250 units. He has had vehicles come in with both bolts missing! Ford changed the bolt mechanism retaining the stabalizer bars in this model year (1998). Their design appears faulty as the plastic retaining devices on the bolt do not appear to work properly.
