Was this the first attempt(s) to start the vehicle that day, or was this subsequent to being used earlier (it appears it was the first attempt)? did the vehicle exhibit any "hard-to-start" tendencies before this incident? have any operators noticed anything wrong or unusual; smells, warning lights, sounds, rough idling/running, etc. Previous to this incident? a. Yes this was their first attempt, there were no previous issues indicated by the unit. Local sop states any issues with ntv, swrft will be notified of the issues. The emergency parking break does not work, I don't think it ever has. I have had it repaired twice over the years and it quickly quit both times. It feels like normal resistance when you push it in with your foot, and does a normal clunk and release when you release it, but it does not at all hold the truck in place. It is a manual transmission so it is very inconvenient for this to not work. An example, that I have to deal with regularly is hooking up to a trailer. I need to get out to see how close I am and I have to put it in gear (only reverse will hold it, the other gears will slip and the truck will roll) and turn it off to go look.

Traveling on I-15 freeway in southern California, going 70 mph on cruise. Head a loud "bang", pulled over and saw damage to underside of vehicle and fluids leaking. Transfer case appeared to be split open. Towed to mojave Ford dealership in barstow California, where repairs were made. Description of findings is attached below. Problem seems to have originated in the 4wd system. Truck was in 2wd in the cab, however vacuum hubs were in 4wd. Mechanic stated that this is a problem with Ford trucks. No recall on file. Post repair, the truck still stays in 4wd when reverting to 2wd from the cab. Operator is required to manually put hubs into 2wd.

When attempting to start the vehicle. The ignition switch gets stuck in the on position and does not release to the normal position. Getting stuck causes the heater and the radio or any other electronic device inside the vehicle not to work. To make these devices work, you have to manually turn the ignition one notch towards the driver. This happens all the time when attempting to start the vehicle.
Death rumble: after any new set of tires gets about 15,000 -20,000 miles on them, the infamous "death rumble" occurs on this model truck. When traveling at speeds of 60 or more and you turn or hit a bump, the front end of the vehicle starts shaking and vibrating violently. You have to come to an almost immediate stop in order to get the vehicle to stop the shaking. It is so bad that you cannot control steering at times and is even visible to others not in the vehicle. All Ford dealers that I have spoken with about this are aware of the issue but blame it on tires or tire pressure. I have tried several types of tires (as I know have over 125,000 miles on my truck) and always inflate them as per my owner's manual. . . This does not help. . . Nor does rotating, balancing, checking brakes, ball joints, suspension, etc. You can watch many many videos of this problem of youtube and other locations, see write-ups in magazines, and as I said, dealers even know about this issue. . . So why is it not getting corrected???.

There have been no incidents/accidents, however problem 2001 Ford f250 super duty pickup truck - owner's guide / manual states on page117 under the heading "tether anchorage hardware" -- (tether anchorage hardware kits (part number 613d74) including instructions, may be obtained at no charge from any Ford or Lincoln/Mercury dealer) per automotive dealership, part number is now obsolete; have investigated and found updated part # f81z5613d74aa. Ford customer service phone told me to call the dealer; dealer said part is approximately $80. 00; called Ford customer service back - they told me to call the service manager at the dealer to see if they could help. Ford did not have responsibility. Basicly I was told to pay for it or who cares? so far including this letter I now have 2+ hours invested into this issue. Unforturnately, most people would not take the time and this is why these issues exist in the first place. This should have been taken care of in 1-2 phone calls. Consequences could mean death of a child due to the child restraint seat not fastened into vehicle properly. Also, if information online is accurate, I'm not the only one who has experienced problems with this type of question / issue. Please look into this and hold these manufactures accountable to keep our children safe!.

I purchased a 2005 Ford f250 superduty truck with camper package. I could not locate the camper certificate. I have contacted the selling dealership and Ford through their customer service e-mail. I've been told the certificate is not available for my vehicle and I cannot get a copy. I am the original owner. The certificate was not put in my truck or given to me. It is my understanding, manufacturers of trucks that are capable of accommodating slide-in campers manufactured after April 1, 1973, must provide a cargo weight rating and the longitudinal limits within which the center of gravity for the cargo weight rating should be located. The purpose of this section is to provide information that can be used to reduce overloading and improper load distribution in truck-camper combinations, in order to prevent accidents resulting from the adverse effects of these conditions on vehicle steering and braking. Nothing has been done to correct this.
