1 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 07/20/2025

My f250 experiences what is known as death wobble when driving over 50mph and hitting bumps. It's been happening much more frequently as of late. Only way to stop it from wobbling is getting over to the shoulder and slow down to approximately 40-45.

3 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 01/09/2025

I was driving on a 1200 mile trip with my 39ft camper. I came off an overpass bridge and my truck felt like both front tires had popped. My steering wheel was bouncing like crazy and luckily I was able to get the vehicle to a stop and off the road. My 2 children and fiancé were also in the car and were lucky not to be killed. After stopping I looked over the truck and trailer and saw nothing wrong. We started to look up the death wobble on this model and it appears many people have also reported it. This truck only has 44k miles on it. I reported it to Ford and they have made it clear that they will not be doing anything, other than allowing my extended service plan to replace the same parts if they find an issue. After talking with Ford, I was driving my truck again without the trailer and the same thing happened. Luckily I was able to gain control of the truck again. The first instance I was going approximately 70 mph and the second I was around 60 mph. I am now afraid to drive this vehicle with my family and unfortunately I’m still 1000 miles from home.

5 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 10/20/2024

We were going speeds of 65-70mph and hit a bump and the sheeting wheel started to violent shake and the tires felt like they were going to come off. This has happened 3 times now since we bought the truck last December. After some research, this is known in the Ford community as the death wobble.

6 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 09/23/2024

I experienced the Ford truck death shake for the first time while driving 53 mph on a county road. Truck went over a few bumps in a consecutive manner and the steering wheel started shaking uncontrollable. This went on for close to a minute, I had a passenger and her child in the truck and it scared everyone. This is insane! this is Ford's top of the line heavyduty truck!.

7 Wheel problem of the 2014 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 08/29/2024

Death wobble at speeds greater than 46 mph. I have to come to a complete stop to make it stop. I almost got rear ended by a semi before I could get off the interstate on the shoulder. My vehicle is a 2014 but I have experienced this several times since I bought it new. Took it to my local Ford dealer to see if they can do anything to fix it. It’s really dangerous when it happens on a busy interstate. The front end sounds like it’s coming apart and steering is impossible when it happens.

8 Wheel problem of the 2012 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 08/03/2024

The front suspension randomly shakes when doing speeds above 60 on the freeway. It’s very dangerous especially because we almost experienced running into a semi while driving on I-50 between a cement construction wall and the semi. I find it hard to believe that Ford will not own up to this. There is clearly a history of this. I simply want my front suspension fixed to meet safety standards.

10 Wheel problem of the 2015 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 07/06/2024

I experienced what I now have come to understand is called the death wobble. It was terrifying and I was going about 60 mph on an interstate that was under construction. I hit minor bumps and the whole truck began to wobble back-and-forth violently. It would not stop until I came down to about 15 miles an hour, after that steering felt loose. I thought I was going to die. The incident chewed up my tires with pock marks everywhere.

11 Wheel problem of the 2021 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 06/06/2024

On multiple occasions now I have experienced the death wobble after hitting a bump in the road. Today the vehicle shook so violently that it crossed into the lane next to me on a curve. I do not feel safe in the vehicle now and pray that someone addresses this problem ASAP before an innocent person is killed. This has not been inspected by any dealerships or insurance reps. No warning lamps or other anomalies observed. The vehicle currently has 53k miles on it.

14 Wheel problem of the 2016 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 01/15/2024

The problem is commonly called "death wobble". The steering system enters an extremely violent wobble/shake making control of the vehicle nearly impossible. 2 independent service centers have addressed the issue. The first did repairs, including warranty replacement of a faulty part and the truck still has the "death wobble". The 2nd independent service center made note of the 2nd faulty replacement part (track bar) and reports "track bar bushing is moving excessively. Track bar should be replaced. " no other physical inspections have been performed. There were no vehicle warning lights due to this issue. There were a few incidences of the "death wobble" prior to my first appointment with an independent service center. That first appointment was approx. 2/19/2024, completed on 2/27/2024. Second time completed on 6/21/2024.

15 Wheel problem of the 2014 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 12/24/2023

December 24th at approximately 1100 hr. Driving normally on the garden state parkway southbound approaching exit 98. The vehicle instantaneously began to shake out of control. I was able to keep the vehicle in the travel lane and was able to pull over to the shoulder. I vehicle pulled over to see if I was ok and explained the truck was front tires shaking violently. I did a pulmonary check under the vehicle any everything looked in order. I followed up with a local mechanic who informed me that this was a common issue with these vehicles that was called the "Ford death wobble" and suggested that I take it to a specialist who deals with the suspension. I followed up with r&h spring and truck repair, 4806 w hurley pond rd, wall township, NJ 07719. R&h is familiar with the issue and the vehicle is currently scheduled to be diagnosed. The recommendation is to change most of the front end because no one issues causes this to happen. The vehicle has less that 44, 000 miles on it and clearly a design issue. I have been in law enforcement for 30 years and have never experienced anything like this. I have been trained in all types of advanced driving course throughout those years. Fortunately I was driving at the time rather a less experienced driver. I am not requesting anything other than the issue be addressed to protect the public. Unfortunately if not addressed loss of life will occur. Respectfully, andrew huisman I am not requsting anything other than that.

16 Wheel problem of the 2016 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 12/15/2023

Increase of speed on a rough tar highway road caused a violent death wobble.

17 Wheel problem of the 2014 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 11/02/2023

Death wobble occurred randomly at about 40mph. Driving through mountains, slowed down and pulled off to the side to avoid putting others in danger including the passengers in this truck. There were not any warning lights/alerts from the truck prior to this happening.

18 Wheel problem of the 2006 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 10/03/2023

Purchased my truck last year and was unaware of problems with this truck. Whikr traveling couple miles from my home on a paved two lane road I ran over a small gravel or walnut which immediately sent my truck into uncontrollably shaking in the front end my speed was between 30 and 35 mph it was all I could do to get it to the side of the road and stopped. Shaking I got out and looked underneath the front thinking I had a wheel or something about to come off. I couldn't see anything noticeable loose. So I got back in and very slowly continued to my destination. Since then it has happened more times than I can count small hump or raised pavement or even a hole in the road will send it into a shaking fit all I can do is try and get to the side of the road and come to a stop. Im in a fix as this is the only vehicle I own and I can't afford to buy another and no one knows what to do to fix it. I feel like I'm riding in a death trap everytime I have to run out I try and stay on the back roads where I don't have as much traffic and don't have to go as fast having this happen on the interstate is extremely scary not to mention trying to get to the side of the road and not get ran over by tractor trailers. When I purchased this truck it only had around 53,000 miles on it and is still under 60,000. Ive seen read about the problem Ford is having and that they are doing nothing about it. I think this is a disgrace for a company my own father worked for them for 15 years and it's ashame they don't care about their reputation or their company or the safety of their customers and families. I want my truck added to the list of the ticking time bombs they have out on the road.

20 Wheel problem of the 2016 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 09/21/2023

Death wobble! driving at any speeds from 30 mph to highway speeds of 65-70 mph, the front end (front suspension) of the truck will wobble uncontrollably in a vehement and violent manner, making driving unsafe with loss of steering after hitting a small bump or dip in the road/highway. The condition is worse when pulling a 30 foot gooseneck trailer. I have replaced the front shocks, steering damper, and rear shocks and to no avail, the death wobble still occurs! this is major safety concern and life threatening to myself and anyone on the road during the death wobble, and seeing the reaction of other drivers in the opposite direction should be cause for concern! my truck is at a dealer now for inspection of the front end suspension system (drag link, track bar, tie rod ends, ball joints, bushings, tires, and alignment), to include the engine mounts, which were worn and deteriorating (I noticed this when I was replacing my steering damper) probably from the death wobble. The tires were balanced and rotated on September 9th by discount tire and the technicians there didn't see any problems with the tires or the wheels. I get my tires balanced and rotated about every 7,500 miles and I keep an accurate vehicle history of my truck.

21 Wheel problem of the 2015 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 09/02/2023

When driving (once going downhill 6% grade, several times driving level on the freeway and once on a 45 mph road with ruts), the front end began shaking violently to the point I was losing control of the vehicle until I slowed down. The vehicle would be available for inspection upon request. Safety was impacted by the loss of control resulting from the vehicle violently shaking. I took the truck to a mechanic and he could not see any problems. Other than my mechanic, no one has inspected the vehicle. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to the event. I have dash cam video of the event.

22 Wheel problem of the 2017 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 08/25/2023

In the last few weeks two of the trucks tire pressure indicators have failed on the right side of the vehicle.

23 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 08/01/2023

I was driving by myself with my two small dogs on the interstate at approximately 70 mph when I ran over uneven pavement. Without any warning my truck began to shake so violently the dogs became terrified and hid under the seats and I briefly lost control of the vehicle. I was certain I had blown a tire. I decelerated quickly and looked for an opportunity to move out of traffic and pull over. I am incredibly blessed that I did not cause nor was injured in an accident. My truck was completely out of control for approximately 90 seconds. As I decelerated the truck regained drivability and the violent shaking dissipated. I am unsure which actual components may have failed, but my vehicle is available for inspection at any time. My safety, that of many others traveling on I-95, and the safety of my two dogs were put at serious risk of bodily harm or fatality at the complete and total loss of control of the vehicle. The problem has not been reproduced because I had no idea what had caused it. In August of 2023 my vehicle was inspected at a Ford dealership in brainerd, mn and the only issue that was discovered was a mildly leaking rear pinion seal but the rear differential fluid was still full. The real differential fluid was checked again just prior to labor day weekend at jiffy lube in aiken, SC and also found to be full. The vehicle has been inspected by a Ford dealership in August, 2023 but not by the original manufacturer, police, or insurance representative. Absolutely zero warnings were ever issued by the Ford onboard computer. This is particularly disturbing as my onboard computer lets me know when even one tire pressure is off. There was zero symptoms of the problem prior to failure other than a typical "rough" Ford ride, which was explained to me when I purchased the vehicle, for cash, in virginia. I have since researched this phenomenon, dubbed "death wobble" and am furious that Ford currently has knowledge of this and yet refuses to act on it.

24 Wheel problem of the 2013 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 07/13/2023

Ford 2013 f250 death wobble, it is real! it is scary! it is unpredictable and extremely dangerous. Something in the design of the front end needs to be fixed ASAP. My latest experience with this happened on 7/13/23. The worst death wobble that I have ever experienced happened today on the freeway at full speed (65mph). The first time today, my truck started to violently shake, prompting me to immediately slow down from 65mph to about 30-40mph during my morning commute to work/in traffic. Then, again a minute later, but this time it was seven worst! the death wobble started again at full speed and the front end started shaking uncontrollably and drifted my vehicle from the number 2 lane into the number 1 lane with other cars doing same speed. This violent shaking caught the attention of the other drivers and everyone slowed down, so I could make it into side of the road. 65mph to 30 in just seconds and crossing into another lane. This could have killed someone, including myself and my family. No, not inspected yet. No messages.

25 Wheel problem of the 2012 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 07/12/2023

The front end of the vehicle and wheels start to violently oscillate at speeds between 50-60 mph. Sometimes it occurs after hitting a small bump and often occurs over smooth roads. This has been described as the "death wobble". I have to slow down below 25 mph for the wobbling to stop. This has put me in numerous dangerous situations on the street amd highway.

26 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 06/04/2023

On 6/4/23 I was on sr 2 in erie county ,ohio. The speed limit was 70 mph and my cruise control was set at 70 mph & traffic was fairly heavy. I passed over an expansion joint and my steering wheel started shaking violently back and forth and the vehicle was nearly uncontrollable. The other vehicles near me fortunately saw I was having trouble and luckily they were able to steer clear of me. The only way I got it to quit was to veer to the shoulder, break hard and bring it to a complete stop. After gaining my composure I cautiously pulled back on highway with my warning lights on and did 40 mph to the next exit. Slowly made my way back home not knowing if it was going to reoccur. It was amazing that I or anyone near me wasn’t injured or killed! if my wife would have been driving there is no way she would have been able to control it.

29 Wheel problem of the 2018 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 04/12/2023

I loaned my f250 to my son to move his furnishings from his apartment in chicago back to iowa. Once he got on the interstate, the truck began to shake violently causing him to feel he would lose control of the vehicle. The only way to stop it was to pull over and stop the vehicle. This could have resulted in severe injury or worse. I am beyond furious, upset and am going to escalate this known problem in any way I can including media watchdogs, social media, etc. After a short search on the web, I find out it is a known defect but nothing has been done by Ford or your organization. My truck had 12,000 miles on it…nothing should be worn out and in no way should there have been a safety danger to my son by driving it. I would like communication from your organization immediately as Ford tells me it is up to you to issue a recall and you have not done so. This is unconscionable in every possible way.

31 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 03/24/2023

Driving on freeway at approx 55mph when sudden severe, violent shaking and almost uncontrollable steering began. I did not brake, but took my foot off the accelerator and held tightly to steering wheel which listed to the left. Incident lasted approximately 10 seconds and then returned to a normal drive.

32 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 03/09/2023

My lug nuts have swollen and cannot be removed using the proper size socket. The chrome outer coating is separating from the inner steel lug nut. This means that the chrome coating could fall off and cause an imbalance on each wheel which could lead to disastrous effects including the lugs breaking off and causing a tire to come off.

You are driving along at any speed above 45 or above and hit a bump of any kind or rough pavement on roadway. It wobbles and shake like a death wobble of what is referred by some mechanics . We believe its possible to be something wrong with steering but it will shake rattle like a you blew out a tire.

While driving 45 miles an hour down a 3 lane highway I hit a pothole with the left front tire only the truck started to shake uncontrollably I had a hard time keeping it straight and veered into the left lane had to aggressively apply the brakes to get the vehicle to stop causing the vehicle behind me to swerve into the other lane no accidents occurred fortunately this is the 1st time it has happened and the truck did not show any signs of warning or issues. Once I got to a safe place to get out I looked around the truck but could not find any wrong. I will have it inspected by Ford.
