36 Wheel problem of the 2016 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 01/01/2023

Truck was driving 70 mph going to TN when it started shaking and grinding or awful noise. Lost control of steering d/t shaking. Slowed down and pulled over to side of road to check vehicle equipment. Made call to my son who said it's the death wobble, advised to slow below 60 mph. No death wobble again unless I hit a bump then it started again.

37 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 12/21/2022

Took truck in for oil change at local Ford dealer. Service adviser advised me the lug nuts needed replaced at $384. 00. They are saying it was a manufacturer defect which I agree. I have had truck in numerous times for service and even bought a new set of fires from the dealer and was never advised of any problems. Each time I had truck in for service I had the tires rotated. I believe the items should be covered by the manufacturer.

38 Wheel problem of the 2018 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 12/04/2022

Driving at approximately 70 mph I traversed over a road divider of a suspension type bridge and immediately encounter the so called “death wobble” in my entire front end steering mechanism. The vehicle and steering wheel vibrated so violently that it caused a lane excursion. Applying brakes and slowing to 30 mph the steering came under control. This is the (3) third incident of this happening to my vehicle.

39 Wheel problem of the 2018 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 12/02/2022

On 12/2/2022 at ~9:30 am I was westbound on interstate 40 in sw az. Traffic was average, road was clean and dry. My right front tire clipped a small pothole. The front end of the truck began to shake then became a violent, out of control thrashing. I grabbed the oscillating steering wheel with both hands to avoid changing lanes and hitting other vehicles. I tapped the brakes to shut down the cruise control. But my truck continued the violent shaking and the steering wheel wasn't much help. Only after I had let my speed drop dramatically did this incident began to subside. Eventually I steered onto the shoulder and it stopped. I needed a few minutes to regain my composure to exit I-40 and return home at 35 mph.

41 Wheel problem of the 2016 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 11/22/2022

Violently shaking can not control truck, I’ve looked this up and it is known as the death wobble. It looks like they have recalled /027 but not 2016 models what can be done about this. It has happened about 6 times in 3 days.

42 Wheel problem of the 2014 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 11/18/2022

I was driving on the highway over a bridge and the truck started wobbling uncontrollably when I hit 55. The scary part is you couldn’t really control the vehicle when it was wobbling like that. So the next day we went and bought me shocks for the front and back and it’s doing this.

43 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 11/07/2022

Traveling at 70 miles per hour, hit bump on highway and front end of vehicle began shaking violently, almost lost control. Took foot off gas and applied brakes, vehicle finally stopped shaking. "death wobble ". Vehicle has 22,500 miles, tires original, no modifications to vehicle.

44 Wheel problem of the 2016 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 09/28/2022

Death wobble occurred this morning for the first time ever. It was terrifying for me and my children. I had to slam on the brakes so hard that I nearly slid off the road! the fact that Ford doesn’t acknowledge this is ridiculous. I hope and pray that this does not occur with my children in the vehicle, or while I’m hauling my horses.

45 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 09/26/2022

My f250 started to shake uncontrollably while driving home from the airport on 26 September 2022. The vehicle has just over 20,000 miles on the odometer. The steering wheel shook out of my hands and I had to re-grab the steering wheel while driving at 50 mph. The shaking would not stop. I had to brake carefully because of traffic and pull off the to the shoulder. I merged back into traffic and it started to wobble uncontrollably again at 35 mph. I pulled over again and stopped. I merged back into traffic again and it did not happen again. Since it has just happened, I have not taken it to a Ford dealership to get worked on. If traffic had not been lite, I am sure this issue would have caused an accident while I was driving 50 mph. I was very scared and was not anticipating this issue. There were no warnings. There should be an immediate recall of all these vehicles and the manufacture should fix or buy the trucks back. I will be notifying my congressman and senators.

46 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 09/20/2022

While driving on interstate 45 south of houston at highway speeds, the steering wheel began heavily vibrating after hitting a small pothole in the freeway. It vibrated violently until I was able to apply the brakes and slow to under 40 mph. At that point, it smoothed out and control was restored.

47 Wheel problem of the 2005 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 09/16/2022

In 2014, I got the “Ford death wobble” in the right front. Very scary and dangerous. Trying to quickly slow down to stop it in traffic is almost as dangerous as the wobble itself. You have very little to no control with the steering when it happens. I had to repair the problem out of pocket because Ford won’t do anything about it. Now, two weeks ago, I had the same death wobble happen at 70 mph on the left front. So frightening. My passengers thought we had a blowout and we’re about to crash. I successfully slowed it down but this problem is a road hazard to me and everyone else on the road. So now, once again, it’s on me to shell out to fix a problem that should have been a recall a long time ago but Ford won’t step up and do the right thing. Please give us some relief here.

48 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 09/05/2022

While driving my children to school on a two lane road (55) the front end started shaking wildly. I lost control of the vehicle and ran oncoming traffic off the road when I crossed the double yellow line. My vehicle is stock with just barely 17k miles. Very scary.

49 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 09/05/2022

Death wobble: at speeds above 55mph the vehicle becomes uncontrollable after encountering bumps in the road that initiate the death wobble. The wobble becomes more uncontrollable until you can get the vehicle stopped - to zero mph. This was very dangerous in heavy denver i25 traffic where your ability to stop was constrained by adjacent vehicles. It also occurred in construction zones with rough pavement and no shoulders or places to get off road. Having to hit the skids in the middle of freeway traffic posted with an 80mph speed limit, is life threatening, for my vehicle and the other drivers. Ford is well aware of this problem - the internet has many videos explaining how to fix it. Ford needs to get this done before someone is killed. I cannot drive the vehicle above 55mph.

50 Wheel problem of the 2013 Ford F-250

51 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 08/27/2022

On 8/27/22 driving on the highway at a speed of approximately 70 mph coming of a bridge and going over transition caused the front of the truck to shake violently. With the wheels shaking and wobbling violently it was difficult to steer. This continued until I came to a complete stop on the side of the highway. This happened again on 9/4/22 with same situation on return trip home. Truck shook violently with tires wobbling until I pulled over to a complete stop. Very scary and dangerous! there was no warning prior or after incident. Truck had just been in for routine service with tire rotation on 8/16/22. Truck to be inspected by dealership on 9/14/22.

52 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 08/10/2022

We were traveling on the interstate at 70 mph , hit a bump in the road and all of a sudden the truck began to shake causing the truck and attached camper to sway uncontrollable. We swerved and were able to get the truck slowed down and to the left shoulder of the road. It was very scary for my family. Luckily we were able to control the truck and not cause an accident. This has happened one other time while camper was attached. The truck is going to the dealership Friday August 19th for the current recall manufacturer recall number22s09 NHTSA recall number22v087 . The dealership is also going to replace a steering dampener.

53 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 08/03/2022

Truck has what is now commonly called the "death wobble". This is, unfortunately, a common problem with f250 super duty trucks. This is a very dangerous loss of control at typical highway speeds. Uncontrollable shaking after hitting minor roadway bumps at speed. The fact that Ford is fully aware of the issue and has not done a recall is hard to believe. Do people have to die on the road because Ford won't recognize this issue? my truck has only 22,000 miles on it but is off warranty as 3 years have passed since date of purchase, low miles due to covid! I have been told by Ford that some some of the trucks are covered but, unfortunately, mine is not. I guess only the broken ones aren't covered. . .

54 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 07/22/2022

3rd time in a week- death wobbke while driving in heavy traffic. This is not safe!! no warning light ms our sounds- just starts violently shaking while driving out of the blue. In order to make it stop- you have to immediately slow down and pull over. This is challenging in that while driving at a high speed (within speed limits) on a major hwy, you cannot just slow down immediately or pull over immediately. In addition, it happens so quickly and is so violent (major shaking and wobble) that you are taken off guard and driving becomes unsafe for ourselves and for drivers around you. Ford is aware of this problem. Our mechanics don’t have a fix all solution. For the price you pay for this vehicle, the consumer should not have to pay for a fix like this, even if there was one. This is not safe.

55 Wheel problem of the 2014 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 07/07/2022

Death wobble shakes tremoundesly after 50 mph.

56 Wheel problem of the 2015 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 06/30/2022

I have been experiencing what is known as the death wobble. The death wobble is a violent shaking that happens to the front end of many Ford f250 and f350 super duty trucks. It typically occurs at speeds over 50 miles per hour. It can also happen after going over bumps or grooves in the road. To stop the shaking, drivers must quickly slow way down or even stop completely. In addition to the shaking potentially causing the driver to lose control of the truck, slowing or having to stop on fast-moving highways also puts both truck occupants and other vehicles at risk. I have taken this vehicle to ntb for repairs and even had new tires put on in the event that was the issue. They have replaced all the steering linkages, tie-rods, ball joints, etc dealing with steering to no avail. I have taken this pickup back into the repair shop on 10/24/2022 once again as this has made me have to stop on major freeways to get the wobble to stop. This is putting me and others in danger.

57 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 06/22/2022

After going over bump in the road truck starts bouncing uncontrollable, like the left tire in bouncing like a basketball to a point of almost losing control, until I can slow down to a stop ,then when I speed back up it stops. I have only experienced this two times both in the last month the truck has about 32000 miles. I have taken it to dealership for maintenance but I don't think they really know what's going on.

58 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 05/16/2022

While driving on the freeway my steering wheel shakes uncontrollably this does not happen often but it’s happened in three times since I’ve had the vehicle. Happened today for the third time while I was driving about to exit off the freeway felt like I had a blowout scared the daylights out of me. Thankfully I was able to control the steering wheel and exit freeway.

59 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 05/06/2022

My husband and I were driving 70mph, the speed limit was 75mph. Our truck encountered a bump in the road and then began to shake violently. My husband immediately let off the gas and pulled to the side of the road but the truck continued to violently shake until it reached about 45mph. On the same day while driving down the interstate the truck encountered another bump in the road and did the same thing. My husband could not stop or control the truck from shaking. We were lucky there were not many other vehicles around us or it could have caused an accident. The truck only has 18,000 miles on it.

60 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 05/04/2022

Hit a bump in the road and the front suspension starting shaking and the steering wheel became very hard to hold onto because of the violent shaking. The vehicle almost flipped over before I could get stopped. Ford replaced the steering damper but I still feel more bouncing from the front suspension. I think there are more issues than just the steering damper.

61 Wheel problem of the 2017 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 05/02/2022

Death wobble.

62 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 04/04/2022

I was driving in the freeway approximately 70 mph when the truck drove over a small imperfection in the road and immediately started to shake violently and uncontrollably (often referred to as death wobble) I left off of the gas and as the vehicle slowed to 50 mph the shaking went away. This shaking is very violent and takes away from the drivers ability to control the vehicle in a safe manner amongst traffic on a busy freeway. Of the brake is pressed the shaking becomes worse until the vehicle slows. I took the truck to the dealer which the dealer advised that there was a recall on the steering dampener and replaced it stating that will relieve the truck of a death wobble . However, this did not fix the issue as I took it on the freeway and experienced the same exact issue. The truck has not been inspected by anyone other than the dealer. No lights or warnings were given at any time before during or after r the incident.

63 Wheel problem of the 2017 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 04/04/2022

When driving over uneven pavement or really bumpy roads, the front end of my truck shakes uncontrollably and I have to slow down really quickly or come to a complete stop in order for it to stop. It really freaked me out the first time it happened and now it's happening more frequently and I don't know what to do about it. I'm seeing that I'm not alone in this issue and if Ford knows about the issue and complaints, then they need to do something about this before I or someone really gets hurt.

64 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 03/16/2022

Violent steering wheel shaking at speeds 55 - 65 mph.

65 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 03/01/2022

I get the "death wobble" when traveling at hwy speeds. Violent wheel shake, almost uncontrollable steering.

66 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 02/28/2022

When traveling at about 55 mph I hit a rough patch in the road on missouri hwy 30. The truck started shaking, shimming, bouncing, and wobbling severely, and kept on doing so for an extended period of time and distance traveled. I'm guessing another 100 yards or so. I was able to keep control, but had to slow down and pull over to get it stopped and to get my self calmed down too. It has not happened again as dramatically, but I've been very carefully avoiding road hazards. It does shake more than usual with any unevenness in the pavement. The dealers locally say 6-8 weeks to get an appointment to look at it. Ridiculous!.

67 Wheel problem of the 2020 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 02/26/2022

After hitting a bump/pothole on the road a violent shaking took place throughout the vehicle, the steering wheel shook violently. I was able to slow down to approximately 10mph and the vibration stopped. I then continued on my journey. It happened another 5 times. This happened in a construction zone with no where to pull off. Through sheer strength I was able to control the truck, but vehicles behind me had to slow down as well. No inspection done as yet, vehicle going to dealer on 03/07/2022. Online reports of something similar called "death wobble". No inspection by police or insurance. No warnings or warning messages etc.

68 Wheel problem of the 2019 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 02/25/2022

The front end of the vehicle started shaking violently. I almost lost control of the vehicle while driving 65mph due to this. I had to slow down to 20mph on the highway to get the steering wheel and front end to stop the violent shakes. This problem is extremely dangerous and I hope it never has to be reproduced. I have an appointment with the dealer in a few days. Their suggested repair is to replace the steering damper. There were no warning lights, messages, or system errors with the vehicle.

69 Wheel problem of the 2014 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 02/06/2022

The truck developed a "death wobble" about a year ago. Over the past year the death wobble has happened almost every single time we have drove it. We have had multiple diesel mechanics look at it numerous times. We have replaced all the tie rod ends, drag link, steering stabilizer, track bar and track bar bushing. When the truck starts shaking, the driver has to immediately engage the breaks, running the risk of being rear ended and risking losing control of the truck. No warning lights have displayed throughout this time. The shaking has happened when driving between 35-55 mph, while the truck is alone and also once while pulling a horse trailer, loaded with horses- posing severe risk to the horses and passengers in the truck. The truck is available for inspection if need be.

70 Wheel problem of the 2018 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 01/24/2022

With no indication the truck started shaking violently after driving over an overpass expansion joint at about 60-65 mph on highway. After slowing to about 20-25 mph in breakdown lane, it seem to go away. Approximately 3-4 miles down the highway, again going over an expansion joint to a bridge this time, it happened again. With the same process of pulling into the breakdown lane and reducing speed to 20-25 mph it went away. Obviously looking this up on the internet, you come across the Ford death wobble. If this doesn’t constitute a recall, what does, death. .
