Ford F-250 owners have reported 5 problems related to xxxxx (under the wheel category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My 2018 Ford F-250 has the "death wobble". I purchased the truck in February 2018 and by December 2018 had driven less than 8,000 miles. While driving at 70 to 75 mph on an interstate highway, I crossed an expansion joint on a bridge and the front-end started bouncing uncontrollably and the steering wheel shaking violently. The shaking stopped after slowing to under 45 mph. I pulled to the side of the road and checked to see if a I had flat tire or other issue causing the problem. I called the Ford dealership, from which I purchased it, for resolution of the problem. They indicated it that they believe the problem was the steering dampener. I brought it to the dealership for repair on 12/30/18 and they kept it for a week. They indicated the "damper" would be replaced under TSB 18-2268. They kept the truck until 1/7/19 until parts arrived. The repair invoice (attached) indicated they'd replaced a failed steering linkage damper, part no. Spo hc3z 3e651 f - damper assembly. This was not caused by lack of maintenance or improper use of the equipment. It was very frightening. The uncontrollable vibration and the need to suddenly slow on an expressway was extremely dangerous. Several trucks and cars had to take evasive action to miss me while I pulled over.

I took the truck to the dealer after I noticed the tpms was malfunctioning after about 4,000 miles and 3 months of operation. The tpms originally showed a dramatic fault in one tire, but later showed faults in three. The readings changed continually from tire to tire and sometimes were as low as 40 psi in some tires. The dealer replaced 1 sensor but could not get the tpms to calibrate. I returned the next day after the dealer obtained two more new sensors. After the two new sensors were installed in truck wheels, the tpms still would not calibrate. The dealer installed a new sensor in the remaining wheel and was then able to calibrate the tpms. The dealer believes that all four sensors failed after approximately 4000 miles and three months. The dealer said that all four tires had "moisture" inside when they installed new sensors and asked me if I had used a personal air compressor to add air prior to the failures. I responded that I had not done anything to the air pressure before the first failure and only checked all four tires for air pressure after the system showed a problem. When checking all four tires after the failure I may have added a pound or two to each to bring all up to the recommended pressure. I have since checked my compressor and it did not expel any water after draining. I have not yet received the final service report from the dealer, as after 4 hours of waiting for resolution, I was in a hurry to get home. Obviously, all is covered under warranty.

New 2012 Ford f250, super duty, 4x4, crew cab truck, purchased 11/2013. Approx. 1 month prior, the truck began having a vibration at highway speeds (75% highway driving, 25% city). The vibration got worse over the course of a day. The 2nd day the front passenger tire exhibited a large bulge (tread separation) on the inside two tread grooves. Ford replaced the tire, with another of the same brand and model. On 6/30/2014, the front driver tire, with no warning, developed the same issue, a large bulge in the inside tread grooves. The tires are continental contitrac lt275/65r18 123/120s tires, dot# a3b9 479b 2511. Both tires had very little tire wear and the wear was even across the tire surface, the tires showed no sign of potential failure. I did get to see the inside of the second failed tire, there did not appear to be any damage except the cord separation which was not visible from either the inside or outside of the tire; I did take photos. I contacted Ford¿s corporate number and awaiting a call from the dealer¿s service manager, and regional service manager in reference to this safety concern. Ford did state they would contact NHTSA; Ford reference number cas04645143-z4t8t9. Each time I have to replace the continental tire under warranty Ford has to locate the tire and it is not easy to locate. In addition, every new Ford f250 on the dealer¿s lot has another name brand tire, which I believe indicates Ford has issue with the continental tires. I searched the NHTSA data base and found almost the exact same incident; NHTSA id# 10568111. I also found numerous similar complaints about the tire model. I attempted to contact continental, case #1570615, the call taker read from a script and could offer no help.

Dramatic wheel and front end wobble when hitting a bridge transition. Vehicle becomes uncontrollable and continues to shake violently until vehicle comes to almost a complete stop. I had this same issue in my 2005 f250 and had to change almost all the components of the front end to fix. There are hundreds of people speaking about this on the forums and state that there are tsbs that cover this but that the parts fail again in about 25k miles. I pull a boat quite often and if this would have happened with a trailer behind my truck there would have been fatalities. As it was cars went all over the interstate trying to get away from me. This issue has been around for a long time and it seems that it has not been addressed by the manufacture. I love and need my 3/4 ton truck and believe that Ford makes the best truck, but there will be deaths caused by this, if not already. Now I will start the long process of getting the dealer to fix the issue.
2006 Ford f250 superduty crew cab 4x4 with factory 20x8 alloy wheels. Rt front wheel cracked with no impact. Crack is aprox 10" long and runs just below the bead for about 10" did not loose air. Iwas turning rt and fely a strange jolt kind of like the tire rolling off a small rock. Only felt it once. Continued driving to work. Later inspected the wheel and found the crack. Dealer says there is no racalls on these wheels. Called Ford customer relations to be told they could not help. There are a number of postings on similar wheel cracks on internet forums. It appears to be an ongoing problem on these trucks in the 85000 mile range. ## VIN failed ##.
