The contact owns a 2002 Ford f350. While driving at speeds greater than 40 mph, the vehicle's gear shifts into overdrive on its own. At speeds lower than 40 mph, it shifts violently into fifth gear. Ford diagnosed the cause of failure as the torque converter and a solenoid. Ford also stated that the vehicle is out of warranty, even though it has only 19,080 miles. This has been a persistent failure for more than two months. The purchase date was unknown. The current mileage is 19,080 and failure mileage was 18,000.
