38 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2018

The transmission has been shuttering, stalling and jerking irraticly while in motion, on the street/ highway sometimes rolls backward and forward on reverse have notified manufacture they won't help put in shop replaced transmission cost 1700 and the problem still exists but worse now when turning jerks and shakes and is leaking tried to get it fixed again no mechanic will do the work plus now my warranty is expired and I can no longer afford repairs. This will be the third attempt on repairing the vehicle transmission. This car is very dangerous to be driving on the road can cause many accidents due to power train malfunction. Ford and other mechanics don't want to do the work to repair the car plus all models transmissions are faulty regardless if it gets replaced. Car needs to be recalled!!.

39 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2018

The car has had several transmission issues, without warning - the car would idle by itself when I was parked or at a stop sign. When driving the car would speed up without stepping down on the gas. In recent reviews it looks like the 2011 Ford Fiestas has defected transmissions?.

40 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/11/2018

I firmly believe my vehicle was meant to be included in the dual clutch transmission recall but my VIN number was never included in recall searches. However, I had been having slight issues with it for a while, like it seeming to slip gears or even catch at times. I had taken it to the dealership where I bought it and told them what I thought it could be. I'm a smaller female, and the man I said it to laughed and told me that was his job and not mine and that I didn't need to worry about it. Finally in may of last year, I was driving on the interstate (in a straight stretch about to get off an exit) and out of nowhere my car basically started stalling out, and jerking and kicking back. Getting it back home was a nightmare, due to it having such trouble going uphill or even taking off from a stop. After that happened, I called the dealership where I had purchased it and told them what happened. They again said my car was not part of that recall. I called the corporate office, I've done everything I can think of. That car has sat in one spot for over a year, I still make my monthly payments. I even got one of those code readers and ran it on my car, and sure enough it said what I've been saying all along. I had to quit a good paying job and start working at a nearby gas station because I have no way to get to a job further away, let alone enough to pay for a tow or repairs.

41 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2018

My husband and I bought a car from them. It is in my husbands name. My husband is not from this country and doesn't know what things mean in their context. This car was sold to us as is with a branded title. We accepted that. However, the car was sold to us with broken parts and the repairs that were done to it were not done to standard oem specifications. The car was sold to us with a broken front axel. This is a major safety issue because had this completely broken going down the road and we were in a wreck that would have been bad. The car is not fixed at this time and they refuse to fix it due to the papers that were signed by my husband that of which I am sure he didn't know what he was signing being someone who has never bought a car before. I do t feel that this car lot should be allowed to sell the car in this condition even as is. Please let me know if we have any rights here. Thank you!.

42 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2018

I've only owned my Fiesta for 2 years and now my car won't move when I am in drive or reverse as I step on the gas peddle to accelerate. Before this, my car would jerk forward when I would go to accelerate and act as if it was going to stall out in the middle of traffic. I've taken it to Ford before to get the recalls fixed because my passenger door swung open while I was driving and they fixed the transmission and clutch recall but now I'm having problems again.

43 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2018

Over the last several years, soon after purchasing from a dealer, my 2011 Ford Fiesta will not gain speed as it should when driving in town. Will shudder when going up small inclines. Have had transmission/clutch replaced 2x by Ford. And had to fight for the last replacement in January 2018. Now car is no longer under warranty.

44 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2017

My son was almost killed over the holiday weekend when his vehicle power went down to around 35 in a 55 mph zone and would not get over the 35mph. This is the fourth time this has happened, but the closest time he has come to losing his life by being hit. We called Ford and they said someone would call back as we have seen a recurring them of people having the same issues as reported on the internet but Ford has not been responsive and it has been almost two months. He is to afraid to drive the car any longer so it just sits unuseable in my driveway.

45 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2017

When turning the cv joint/axel makes grinding noise. I had serviced twice by Ford dealerships and symptoms remain. They replaced axel boot (left half shaft). Noise still remains. Hasn't been proven to fix.

46 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2017

My vehicle developed a low speed acceleration shudder. It was "fixed" under warranty. When it reappeared I found out it was a design flaw in the transmission and it would continuously reappear. I was fixed again under an extended 100,000 mile warranty at 86,000 miles. Occurred again at 96,000 miles but it "passed" the shudder test and wouldn't be fixed under warranty. It is now shudders terribly and at 104,000 all future repairs will cost $2000 each time.

47 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/12/2017

My car has been repaired 3 times and needs another repair for the transmission once again. In the past month this car has died on me while driving first time was at a intersection luckily I was able to pull into a gas station it was towed to carmax where they took it to joe myers Ford they had it for week and some days. In which case they couldn't recreate the problem so carmax had it for almost a month and couldn't recreate it either so they had no other choice but give me back the death trap that will take my life. Since having the car back it has died on me twice I called Ford joe myers they don't offer loaner cars and I don't believe I should pay for a rental for their problem. In both cases I was driving when the tool light came on and malfunction appeared. I was just driving minding my own business when it started to slow dow and stop. When I turn the car off it's like it never happened. Please help.

48 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/14/2017

There was an active recall on my 2011 Ford Fiesta hatchback ses that I aquired from an auto dealer but not from Ford. Took it to Ford when I later found out about the recall on door latches and went to have the latches fixed and later that day the front passenger window pops off track and my window on the drivers side has issues with going up and down. The Ford place said that in order to fix the windows it would cost 100. 00 dollars to fix and they swear up and down thst they didn't work in the doors but the had to replace the latches. The windos wasworking fine until I took it to shaffer Ford. They said in the shop that there was a recall on the transmission clutch and the control module but it seemed to shift fine and I now have a wrench light and not the oil light beside the wrench one but another one and the transmission malfunction alert comes on in the display. My girlfriend is pregnant and when it jerks when I come to a complete stop it pulls the car seat tight on her belly and everytime it hurts her. I believe it's a safety issue and my only means of transportation. If I knew about this car before I stated the finance, I would of purchased something else. Just wanted to say thank from all us folks who got the Ford Fiesta. They are junk. I hope.

49 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2017

Car makes a loud "grinding" sound coming from the transmission area. Also, the car started to "jerk" and/or "lunge" around as you either come to a stop or accelerate from a stop.

50 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2017

I purchased a new, unused 2011 Ford Fiesta in February of 2011. It is an automatic with fewer than 70,000 miles and, since ownership, I have experienced recurring stuttering issues during acceleration (on city streets, highway, moving straight and while turning) that are clearly associated with the transmission while shifting gears. I have already had the vehicle with two different Ford dealership mechanics on numerous occasions which has resulted in clutch and clutch seal replacements. Additionally, I have been told the vehicle's computer has been "reprogramed" with the understanding that it alters the transmission to prevent the issue from occurring. Still, the problem persists. This ongoing issue has me completely fed up with Ford and the product I have purchased. The vehicle is faulty beyond belief and is one that has caused my family great concern in ensuring we have safe and reliable transportation on a daily basis.

51 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2016

First time I had an issue vehicle was in motion would not accelerate over 40 mph. Took to dealership no codes found. After about a week vehicle was parked put into reverse the motor would rev up but it would not move, put into pare turned off waited a little bit car would then go but with very little power couldn't accelerate over 40 mph again. Returned to dealership this time they replaced the clutch assemblies and updated the computer. I will be returning tomorrow for the third time in a month. The car only has 77,000 miles on it.

52 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2016

Unable to get car out of park, when I did, coming out of a parking lot, it stalled in middle of a busy street, had no power, transmission, stability and check engine light came on, after pushing on the gas peddle a few times, it finally, had enough power to drive it home.

53 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2016

To whom it may concern, my name is wanda west-turner and I am writing this complaint about a 2011 Ford Fiesta se I purchased at a private dealer on July 1, 2016. The car started running very strange after a week I experience very ruff rides. So I called Ford company in mcdonough GA. The person I talked to said that it was on recall and for me to bring it in, I did. They kept it over night to update the transmission and other problems causing me to pay for a rental which I felt should have been paid by the dealer or Ford moter company. I did ask the dealer if they knew the car was on recall and they said no! I ask question after question, the owner even drove the car himself and said that<s the way the car runs. I also have problems with the door locks, speed, speeding up on it<s own, transmission, hesitation, using more gas, and sounds ruff when trans get very hot. I now have to take it back on 9-19, 2016 I guess for more testing. I have notified the dealership about this. I am very stressed about this because I have a loan for $7000+ financed. Is there any help out there to get this rectified this problem. I need my car for transportation. Which me luck.

54 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2016

Vehicle has been one of many thousands to experience severe transmission issues, which have now become serious safety concerns due to Ford's inability to provide a solution. This 2011 Fiesta with automatic transmission was purchased new and had the sluggish feeling early on. Dealer said it was a "Smart engine" and would have to learn driver's driving habits. The problem persisted and got considerably worse around 9k miles. . . . Took it in, failed transmissions test. . . New clutch put it. Thought it was fine until it started doing the same thing. . . Failed test. . . No parts available- had to wait on parts. This is about the 5th or 6th time going through this process, except that now the problem is the most severe it's ever been (even with the a new clutch put in last week and being told it was "fixed'). Car won't start at times, then when it does, it drives very sluggish - or won't come out of low gear (revs very high). . . . Of if you get it into higher gear, it will suddenly slip out of it back down to low - very high rpms and very loud. It is hard to accelarate and know that it's going to go - this is especially troubling at an intersection making a left turn, on the highway with higher speed traffic etc. Many others have experienced this same problem very severely. Class action suit in CA now-- and one just started in australia. Same problems. Ford has continued to sell these cars for years, knowing that this problem is there- their only solution being to wait for parts and then get it "repaired" - except it is being repaired with parts that are no better and seem to be far worse than early on. It is scary to drive and feel safe - yet one has to get to work, etc. Ford is digging their heels in and still offering no remedy, knowing about these very unsafe situations that drivers are being put in. Please scan the internet regarding the many people who have had serious problems.

55 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2016

Tl- the contact owned a 2011 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while making turns the vehicle experienced hesitation while being operated at low speeds and independent shifting. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to kovatch Ford located 423 w catawisa st, nesquehoning, PA however the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired however the failure recurred. When the vehicle was returned to the dealer thet were informed of a silent recall on the transmission. The manufacturer was notified of the issue however no further assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 59,582. Kh.

56 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2016

Driving vehicle on expressway and vehicle just cut off. Been complaining to Ford since I purchased vehicle about 2 years now, took it in for repairs several time. Was told that the problem is corrected but it keeps doing the same thing. It will roll back when I stop at a light or stop sign. This is dangerous. This time I was lucky nothing serious happened. Next time I might not be.

57 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2016

Car is parked, due to shuddering, stalling and lack of power. No faith in the vehicle, won't sell because I don't want it to become somebody else problem.

58 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2016

Hesitation, jerking and clutch grinding noises. Went to make a left hand turn and my car hesitated on acceleration causing a near fatal accident from an on coming car. Luckily the oncoming car was able to slow down enough to avoid hitting my passenger side where my daughter was sitting. I have been experiencing hesitation, severe jerking and grinding of the clutch the entire weekend.

59 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/21/2016

From a stand still up until speed, every gear shift is meet with a shudder and feels like it slips while the transmission chages gear. Just recently the car started to jerk and stutter and I barely made it home. The rpms rise and dip and is undriveable. It has been brought in for transmission module reprogramming and inspection of transmission fluids. I thought in the past that the shaking and stuttering was normal, according to Ford that is normal. It's not that when my car started jerking and sputtering that I realize something is very wrong. Ford did give me an extended warranty for up to 70k miles. Also,I notice that when the surface is wet and I break gradually on a wet surface ie,painted street dividers, painted street signs or oil ,abs will break the vehicle, the vehicle will lock up causing it to slide and then when I get on the gas pedal the car will be unresponsive to my gas pedal input. Basically, I wouldn't be able to get out of hands way because the cars power to move for 2-3seconds is non existent.

60 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2016

My cars transmission jerks, powers down, hesitates. I have taking it back to the dealer several times and was told there is nothing wrong, one time I had a computer update. I had a lot of close calls due to the way this car operates. April 2015 my luck ran out. Evening traffic was heavy and sitting at a red light and when it turned green the car did the hesitation and this time my daughter was in a head on collision and the car is a total loss. My daughter had a neck injury and second degree burns to her arms.

61 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/18/2016

"takata recall" when I stop at a red light, and then try to go when it turns green, 2 out of three times there is no forward gear. Then I have to turn on the 4way flashers, turn the key off and on again, then I can go forward. This is very dangerous in heavy traffic. Other times the car won't go into neutral when coming to a stop light, and wants to push you into the car in front of you, or thru the light! I've had it to the dealer probably 5 times, never ever helped. I tell the dealer every time I go there that the car is gonna kill me! I won't lend to anybody. I'm very uncomfortable driving my grandchildren in this car.

62 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2016

Transmission studders and hesitates in lower gears when turning or pulling up to parking area slowly. Transmission has been serviced by Ford 3 times but we are now waiting 8-12 weeks for another set of clutches mean while it is getting worse to drive.

63 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2016

Car at random times refuses to go into any gear. This is the dual clutch automatic transmission. Most often happens after starting the car when the shift lever is moved into a gear the transmission remains in netural. You can over reve the engine no foot on the brake no gear engages. A few time while driving the transmissions goes into netural. So far I've been able to coast off of the limited access road onto a side street when that has happened. A few times the car has refused to go back into gear after coming to a stop at a stop sign or stop light. You can resolve the issue by turning off the car and restarting it. Sometimes it takes multiple restarts before you can get the transmission to shift out of netural. A few times the car has refused to start, I think the tcu refuses to put the transmission into netural at that point to allow it to start. When that happens I have had to wait upwards of fifteen minutes before the car can be started and driven. The dealer claims they can't do anything since they cant duplicate the problem while the car is in the shop. I've had the few recall notices related to the transmission done. I feel this care is not safe to take on a major highway but can't afford to purchase another vehicle at this time. I see many other owners reporting the same problems but Ford has either been unable to find a fix or it has been to expensive for then to want to implement. Majority of times I've experienced this has been in parking lots but other times has been on residential streets(stop signs) or limited access 35-40mph roads while driving or trying to drive away from a stop light. I fear the day it happens on a highway. I'm listing this past Monday as the date since it was the most recent incident. This has been happening for several years now and yet Ford refuses to do anything about it. I stated ) as the most recent.

64 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/30/2015

Since new the car's transmission has had lurching and jerking issues when shifting that have progressively gotten worse. Multiple times the car has lurched and stalled missing the next gear and almost caused us to get side swiped while making a turn. We were left stranded and had to replace the control module which Ford eventually paid for. Now after getting a trans malfunction warning the Ford dealer is saying we need a new clutch (the car is an automatic. . . That is what we paid for). The clutch has only worn out because of the excessive lurching and missing gears cause by the poor design despite several failed attempts to have the issue fixed by the dealer. Not being able to accelerate when making a left turn or pulling onto a roadway or merging onto a highway is a safety issue. Please hold Ford accountable. I don't think the car is safe because that happens all the time and the dealer can't seem to fix it. In fact I wont let my wife drive the car anymore because I think an accident is inevitable. We have had constant transmission issues since new. Ford denied an problem when the car was new and having these issues. Ford is willfully putting its paying customers at great risk physically and financially. We have records of repeatedly bringing this car in for repair. Ford (I believe intentionally) did not document my wife's complaints or that they even looked at the car when it was newer and they kept saying my wife was crazy and there was no problem. Turns out they were wrong and there have been major problems from the start and we all know that now.

65 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that the throttle body malfunctioned in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 40,000. Ad.

66 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/23/2015

Clutch shudder. After having a replacement clutch assembly installed 12,000 miles ago, the clutch shudder, shaking, delayed acceleration, and jerkiness have returned. Assembly was reinspected at dealership, confirming that the replacement clutch assembly also has the failure symptoms. A new assembly is being ordered.

67 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2015

Currently driving my car with a bad clutch assembly because the part is on back order because of a customer satisfaction bulletin from Ford motor company. Driving today and the vehicle in front of me came to an abrupt stop. I came within an inch of rear ending the vehicle because when I put my brakes on my cars the clutch would not do downshift to stop my car. Had to steer to the right onto curb to avoid hitting the car in front of me, came within an inch of hitting the car. The dealer service department told me putting in a new clutch will not fix the problem because they are putting in the same defective part. This is my second clutch assembly within 7,000 miles.

68 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2015

I bought a used 2011 Ford Fiesta in December of 2014. Within a couple of weeks I began to experience excessive shuddering, knocking, banging noises. Excessive shaking, stuttering. I have taken it to my Ford service department and all they said is Ford wont do anything until the car breaks down or fails to move at all. And when that does happen, all corporate Ford will do is replace the clutch and they even said that wont be a long-term fix because it will always happen again and again. . I am really fearful of getting into a serious accident with this lemon. . . I am hoping but not holding my breath on Ford taking responsibility for this. . Until the NHTSA makes them do something about it.

69 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2015

Took my car in for a recall on the trans/clutch (my car is automatic) . Less than 3 months later the trans was grinding hard, slipping and stalling while driving. I took it back in. Its been about 3 months and my trans is starting to act up again. Ford says there is nothing they can do about it because its acting like they knew it was going to. That Ford sold a bad trans and its the "characteristics" of the trans.

70 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2015

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fiesta. While driving approximately 45 mph, the rpms accelerated. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the tranmission control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 93,766.
