I have had this car since 2017 and it seems like there is a delay in shifting. I was driving the car in 2018 and the car suddenly stops in the highway. My car would not move at all. It was taken to a Ford dealer for power train issue but it has since been doing the same. It stalls and seems like there is a transmission issue. I can't afford another transmission. I'm not under warranty. I have nothing but issues with this car. My clutch has been changed thee times.

Takata inflators. This car was unsafe to drive, when you get to a red light, the car jerked you ,when you place your feet on the brakes. Then when you press the accelerator to go it jerk back and pulled you forward. Changing geers would hard to shift and sometimes stick. The engine light would come on, the car was taken to Ford dealership 3 times and tested, they never fixed the problem. I almost crased at the stop sign trying to stop, the brakes got stuck. I had the car for one month, and filled a lemmon law complaint on line, and they insisted I had to wait a period of time, because I just purchased the car. After the 3rd, time visting the Ford repair shop, in one month time, I was disappointed and where I bought the car from at a kia dealership, they would not give me my money back , only offered to trade the Ford Focus in back to them and buy a kia car from them, I loss my down payment, and got stuck with a roll over fee of 4,500 from the remaining balance of the Ford fusion added on to the new kia. And a higher car payment. They sold e a lemon, and had a warranty and still refuse to fix the car. The transmission was bad and they sold the Ford to the auction to get it off their hands. I was stalled for 30 days believing they would fix the car, the lemon law couldn't help me after I faxed all the papers to them. The Ford Focus was on the recall list, and I don't have the car now, is there anyway I can get credited for the $4. 500 in a law suit for buying the Ford under warranty and they refuse to fix the car right.
We're just now finding out that there was a recall on our car that causes it to stall out while driving and now are cars in the shop and there are saying ithat the engine needs to be replaced, we where on a highway going at about 60-70 mph at the most we heard a bang come from the engine and a cloud of smoke pourd out from behind us, t.

While driving, or while going from a complete or partial stop to accelerating, the vehicle hesitates then bucks. No matter how maintained the vehicle is, the level of gas in the car, or the type of road being driven, the car hesitates and stalls for a minute before accelerating. Unknown at this time why the vehicle does this, but I believe it is an issue with the transmission.

The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that they would take the contact's information and file a complaint with NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 69,000.
Since I purchased the vehicle (new), I have had problems with the engine. I have taken it to be repaired to an authorized Ford deal during the 3 years I have owned it - once, they replaced/rebuilt the clutch, twice for updates to the computer, and a separate time for the tires and wheel well (the dealership said some of the problems were caused by unevenness in tires, the wheel well also needed repair after my tires were rotated). The car consistently struggles to accelerate after coming to stop, such as at a yield, merge, stop sign, stop lights, or from slowing down. It shakes, jerks, stutters, makes a creaking metal sound, and most concerning, stalls. I have been told by the dealership the vehicle needs to learn my driving style, however, three years is an unacceptable amount of time. I take the car to the dealership for all maintenance. I have my oil changed and tires rotated regularly, in addition to the inspection done by the dealership at that time. When I press on the gas from a slowed or stopped position, the car should accelerate, but it stalls. It consistently stalls every time I drive it. This is not safe, especially since this is a brand new car. I have continued taking it for repairs to a Ford authorized dealership only, leaving the vehicle for days at a time, and the problem has not been resolved. Additionally, the mileage I get with the car is lower than expected and a Ford employee asserted to me it is due to the engine issues.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 58,858.
The tranmission/engine hesitates/stalls while driving. Rough accelaration. The first time this happened I was driving on the freeway 65mph and notice the vehicle was driving weird when trying to accelerate, when I slowed down the car would shake when trying to gain speed again. I immediately got off of the freeway pulled into a parking lot to look the car over. Turned off the car to call someone, tried turning the car back on within 5 minutes and the car had completely locked down, had to call a tow truck to tow to dealer car had 21,000 miles on it. Dealer stated the issue would be fixed some type of update needed done to the transmission. The update did not fix the problem but the dealer states everything is working properly. The car still hesitates on acceleration. I bought the car for my teen driver but I am afraid to let him drive it because I don't know how safe the car is. There is a serious issue with how this car operates on acceleration.
We purchased the vehicle in 2016. We immediately noticed the problem with the transmission during acceleration. When you accelerate the car stutters and lags and feels like a stall on every acceleration. We took it in and was told that is was the economic part of the vehicle and it was suppose to do that. It has never been better nor did they ever fix it upon servicing. Now we learned it's an issue with all Ford Focus for these years.
The transmission is defective, it stalls and has issues changing from 1st to 2nd gear but it was an automatic. It hesitates to go causing safety issues. Countless times I have felt unsafe as the car heisted to turn or cross lanes.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. As a result, the vehicle was involved in a rear end collision. The driver was unable to exit the vehicle because the doors failed to open and was pulled out from the window. The driver sustained neck, back, stomach, leg, and knee injuries that required medical attention. The driver later died due to the injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to sound Ford (located at 101 sw grady way, renton, wa 98057, (425) 235-1000), but the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The body damage was repaired. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v643000 (latches/locks/linkages). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 27,000.
When driving my 2014 Ford Focus, when stop at a light and began to start going the car stalls or or it starts to shake like if I was driving a manual transmission, why hasn't the recall they said they did fixed the problem!!! this happens on city streets and highway.
The vehicle a 2014 Ford Focus s model was moving at a high rate of speed going down the highway when it stalled out due to the wiring splices going bad causing the vehicle to stall out and stop without warning.
Car intermittently stalls when the clutch pedal is depressed. This can occur at a stoplight or at freeway speed.
I have escaped being hit multiple times with my car doing this. I have a fear I am going to be rear ended or killed because of my car. The car stalls on the road there is something wrong with the transmission our car has been at the dealership for over a month, second time on the transmission jerking and stalling on the road when you would be stoped at a red light then in motion it jerked when you increased your speed, very unsafe to drive and no one is doing nothing about it. Ford can not fix the problem. Should be a national recall. . Not japordizing my family life for a car that stalls on the road.
Vehicle was losing power, rough idling and stalling while driving. Took to dealership and was found to have 2 cylinders with low compression and metal in engine. Ford case#7853581 engine was replaced. Vehicle at dealership for 9 days. Ford regional customer service manager does not respond to my emailed questions. After repair car does not start up immediately, gradual problem until 9 days after engine has been replaced, the car does not start at all. Towed to dealership and has now been there for 2 days. I fear that an accident may occur while driving this vehicle and believe that it is not safe.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. While at a complete stop on an incline, the vehicle would sometimes roll forwards or backwards. In addition, the vehicle would occasionally lunge forward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the computer adaptive learning sensor needed to be adjusted. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 21,000.

While accelerating, vehicle frequently stalls and/or hesitates to continue acceleration creating a jerking affect until it can actually catch again or provide fuel to accelerate. This typically occurs when pressing on the pedal both when stopped/start or if in motion and accelerate to go onto the highway. This happens frequently while driving on a daily basis.
My cars transmission stalls everyday while driving. It shakes and stutters at light or stop signs when you go to take off. It shifts hard. This has been going on since about 3 weeks after buying the car. It does this all the time and on city streets and highways as well.
I purchased my car new from a Ford dealer in 2015. My car had this shudder from the beginning but the dealer told me it was normal, etc. I've found the information about the class action lawsuit and detroit free press revelations about Ford motor company knowing the transmission was defective before my 2014 Focus was even built! but when I called my dealership yesterday they still say the defect symptoms are normal and they'll charge me $89 if I want a diagnostic. And even if I do that and they replace the defective transmission, they'll be installing another inherently defective transmission! this isn't a manufacturing plant issue where a small percentage of the vehicles built on one particular day received the wrong widget. The transmission design is defective. I no longer feel safe in this car nor do I trust Ford motor company or its dealership that's been lying to me for years. I made a point of buying an american company car made in the USA to support my country and this is what they do??.
When I am at a complete stop and I attempt to accelerate, my Ford jerks rapidly. In order to drive the vehicle I have to press on the gas forcibly in order to accelerate to a normal speed limit. After several attempts to complain to the orginal dealership metro Ford on noland road of the issue I was told that it was a shudder transmission problem. The Ford dealership will not solve the issue and although they stated they reset the issue they try to convince me that it is normal when in fact it is not. This vehicle is an extreme hazard and unsafe to drive for me and my children. I am afraid it will stall at a busy intersection in the future.
While driving it feels like engine is falling out. The whole car vibrates. Like its stalling out when you take off and it takes a long time to get up and going. I have taken the car to lakeland Ford for a seal kit that was back ordered 6-8 weeks in 2015 in 2016 I had to have another seal kit also back ordered 6-8 weeks they did transmission module replacement and much more I've taken this car back for the same issue multiple times andhavebeen told it's not a lemon l!.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer, but it was not diagnosed or repaired. Shortly after, the check engine and tire pressure warning indicators illuminated. The failure occurred at least four times per week since the vehicle was purchased. The dealer was notified several times. The failure mileage was 100.
When starting from a start, the vehicle frequently jumps, surges, and occasionally stalls for several seconds. My wife was nearly hit from behind when entering an interstate highway when the vehicle stalled for several seconds.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. While the vehicle was at a complete stop, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle jerked, stalled, and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. In addition, the contact experienced a failure with the gear shifter changing gears. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (monaco Ford, 767 new london turnpike, glastonbury, CT, 06033,) where it was diagnosed that the e-vap chamber failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
Car jerks and shakes. Especially when taking off or on turning vehicle jerks badly. I understand that is when automatic transmission is trying to shift gears. I have had the clutch replaced once already. This causes a huge danger to me because if I would like to try to make a left turn in front of traffic I never know if my car will go or resist. Sons days are so bad that I just give up driving because it feels as if my car will stall. This is not what you expect a car that you've bought new and paid thousands of dollars on to run like daily. Dealership, today, says it's fine. Initial issues date back to August 2014.
