When accelerating from a stop, the transmission slips. Much like a similar recall with the issue of transmission seals going bad and wetting the dry clutch pack.
2017 Ford Focus s, shudders/shakes when accelerating from a full stop. The car acts as if the transmission is slipping. The car is parked and I refuse to move it until this issue is addressed. Ford needs to fix this issue or issue everyone who owns this vehicle a full refund or a different model! this is not safe and can cause serious injuries to anyone driving it, especially on a highway or beltway at a great amount of speed and the car refuses to accelerate without shuddering or shaking.
When accelerating "normally" the transmission will slip between 1st and second gears. When accelerating from a rolling start like on a freeway, the transmission will rev and then shift and/or slip causing temporary loss of power.
Just purchased this vehicle and it only had a little over 74,000 miles. The transmission is already slipping and from my research, this is a common, known issue by many Ford Focus owners. We took the car to the local Ford dealership and they would only repair it if we paid out of pocket even though thousands of customers have reported similar issues. We called Ford customer service and they would not help either.
The transmission in my car is slipping. When I purchased the car new off the lot, I was told the jerking in the car was normal for the type it is. It happens when you try to accelerate. I was told today that my transmission needs to be replaced.
When taking off from stand still, it acts as though the transmission is slipping causing a hesitation.
6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission slips while accelerating from a stop, clunks and rattles while slowing down to a stop. Has happened every day since I've had the car.
My 2017 Focus developed a problem with the power shift dual clutch transmission slipping at low speeds. It would launch well initially, but then start to shudder and slip until 2nd gear was fully engaged. The problem was more pronounced when turning onto a road while accelerating to merge with traffic, and the shuddering was stronger at the end of a drive than at the beginning. Gradually the symptoms became more severe, until I did not feel safe merging into traffic at normal speeds. At that point I took it in to the dealer. The dealer did a road test and inspection and concluded the clutch needed replacement. The part was on national backorder and took 8 weeks to arrive; in the meantime I had to continue driving my Focus with its defect. The dealer replaced the clutch and half-shaft seals under warranty at no charge. The issue was resolved, and has not reoccurred.
Transmission clutch slips, car stutters on accelerations, clunky sound. (google it) well known problem with these cars, Ford is aware, but been to dealers twice, they won't fix, because Ford won't pay! dangerous if car stutters & you need to go!.
Transmission slips. At time when driving, it slips and the rpm's rev up to 5-6 and the car has no power. It lasts for 3-4 seconds and sounds like the car is in neutral and gas peddle pushed to the floor. It does this off and on every time I drive it. Started around the 9,000 miles mark. My car is a 2017 Ford Focus with 11,800 miles on it.
Transmission stutters or slips, especially noticeable when turning a corner. Sometimes doesn't correctly downshift. Car rolls forward when in reverse and rolls backwards when in drive.
Transmission slips & shutters, grinds, & sometimes won't accelerate properly.
