My transmission is garbage. My car shakes when I accelerate especially from a stop. I took it to a shop and they confirmed it was the transmission and thst it was made with the bad transmission. They said me getting a new one is pointless because there isn't a good one made for the 2017 Ford Focus because Ford made it that way knowing it was bad. Also I don't know if my adas system is just non existent or what because I've never heard it ever go off before.
Transmission slipping causing the car to shudder when turning right only occassionally when turning left happens more often when raining just under 59500 miles on it.
1) battery was replaced. Corrosion surrounding battery & all parts of battery. Took the car to inspection <2 months later and corrosion was just as bad. 2) have taken care in every 2-4 months since purchasing new in 2018. Upon acceleration and turning, car shakes and stutters. Each time it is taken in, there is nothing done because "it's a known problem and there's no fix. ".
2017 Ford Focus required transmission work at 24,000 miles. Now, at 28000 miles I have to have the same transmission work done again. Car shudders when going from stop. If I stop on a hill I have to hope no car is behind me because the second I take my foot off the brake the car rolls back.
The car was serviced fully, it performs perfect as it should whenever the engine is cold however once it heats up the vehicle will shudder in 1st and 2nd gear from a dead stop, I have brought to the attention of the Ford dealership, however they said it's a new and improved transmission however I have done my research and the transmission equipped to my car is the same transmission used in previous models of the Ford Focus with the same faults and issues as the previous models that were recalled and had a lawsuit filed against Ford for selling faulty vehicles.
When accelerating the car shakes and shutters and has cut off before.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle shuddered and hesitated while accelerating. The contact stated that after refueling, the vehicle stalled. The contact would attempt to restart the vehicle 15-20 times and then allowed the vehicle to rev for 2-3 minutes before the vehicle resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the fuel tank had excessive vacuum pressure. The fuel tank need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred. The contact mentioned NHTSA campaign number: 18v845000 (power train) and 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline) as possible solutions to the failure however, the VIN was not included. Joe cotton Ford, inc. (5 w. North Ave, carol stream, IL 60188, (630) 682-9200) was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,800.
Shortly after purchasing this vehicle I noticed the clutch slipping while driving. This includes slipping into neutral at highway speeds, as well as slipping while trying to accelerate, leaving me with no power. The shifts, especially 1st to second are very violent and rough. While shifting the whole car shakes aggressively while also being paired with a shuddering and grinding noise. Ford was notified of this problem at 49,195 miles on November 19th 2019. Ford test drove the vehicle and said that they could not recreate my complaint. I was also told that "this is how this car drives". I believe I was told this as a deterrent from making future complaints. Two thousand miles later I went back to Ford after my car was not driving in reverse. Ford chose to relearn the clutch however this was a problem with the transmission itself as well as the clutch, no further repairs were made. I was then told again that there was no problem with the vehicle. We also made 2 reports to Ford customer service notifying Ford of this problem as I was still under my warranty. Now 9 thousand miles out of warranty (69,000) Ford is telling me there is a problem with my transmission and that the vehicle is unsafe to drive. They are requiring a diagnostic fee of 1200 dollars to investigate the problem and see what needs repairs at my expense. I believe Ford is only acknowledging the problem with this unsafe vehicle now that I am out of warranty.
Car vibrates when accelerating in lower gears-going from standstill to 1st gear experiences a severe vibration.
Purchased 9/2018. Care has been shaking likes its going to fall apart ever since then. . I have a manual transmission and car grunts when picking up speed like I have a clutch shift and makes this scratching noise when I shift from park to reverse. Or reverse to drive. Also when I barely tap the breaks its stop so suddenly the jilt forces me forward. . Today 9/13/19 the transmission fault message came on. And went off. Then when I start the car back up to check systems. . The message system says all systems normal and the light didnt come back on after driving it around, shift from reverse to drive, and shutting of and starting up car 3 different times.
I have felt on several occasions the car shake and seem to struggle to take off from a stop to go. Seems to increasingly get worse.
This 2017 Ford Focus is having the same transmission issues being described by other Ford owners from earlier model years. Car shutters and vibrates, often very heavily and makes light grinding noise when shifting. Current workaround is to accelerate very slow or very fast which isn't always a safe option. Please include the 2017 Focus in your investigation. Thank you.
The clutch in the transmission has failed twice. It causes my car to jerk and shudder upon acceleration. I've almost caused accidents because of the jerking. Ford doesn't have a permanent fix for this.
A few months ago, my car started to shake (in a jerking, forward and back motion), and struggle to accelerate. It would make this noise, like gears grinding. I took it to the dealership to get it fixed under warranty, and they replaced the clutch. For about a week, it was fine. Then it started to do the same thing again. It will jerk back and forth when I accelerate from a complete stop (at a stoplight for example). Recently, I have been losing gas very quickly because it will go all the way past 4rpms just to get from 0-20mph. I'm not sure if the warranty is still on it, but it only has 12,000 miles on it. I have only made one very big trip with it, to kansas and back to virginia. It does this off and on every single time I drive it. I have to drive anywhere from 25 minutes to an hour for work, so this is really not convenient to have. Multiple times I was worried it would break down as I struggled to keep it from overdoing itself while accelerating. A few times, I could smell something like exhaust in the vents. This has been happening over the course of 6 months and has only gotten worse, even after taking it to the dealership, and having them tell me it was "fixed. ".
The vehicle shakes and loses power at take off. It does not happen every time. The car was taken to Ford and we were told that it is a "normal feature". This car was purchased for our teenager and, 2 days after purchase, we are not comfortable with her driving it. She pulls into traffic and the car shakes and does not accelerate appropriately. Very unsafe and needs addressed.
Car had problems with driver seat not clothing in right and sometimes moves back while driving. Seatbelts do not want to click right and have to push in multiple times before you can fasten belts. While trying to accelerate the transmission stalls and jerks forward and vehicle sometimes shakes while driving. Does not want to pick up sorry either.
I have had this vehicle since October of 2017, and have already had to get the clutch replaced once. This is the select shift automatic transmission and even though Ford has replaced the clutch once already, I am still having the same problems with what seems like the clutch slipping which is causing the vehicle to shudder/jerk when going from first to second (accelerating). It has started occurring more often than not and I have taken then vehicle back into to Ford many times for them to just tell me there is nothing wrong with my vehicle, and the slipping is normal for this transmission. I drive this car on a daily basis to and from work and what it is doing does not seem normal. You can also hear it clunk when decelerating when approaching intersections.
The car hesitates when accelerating and then lurches forward when it finally engages. The car vibrates and shutters and feels like it is going to stall. When I change lanes on the freeway it does not respond and feels like the engine is revving and then it kicks in and jumps forward. This also happens when I am sitting in traffic. I have to give lots of room in front of me because when I press the accelerator it doesn't go at first and then lurches forward. I'm afraid of getting in an accident. Sometimes when I turn corners it also shakes and feels like it is going to stall. I have had the clutch/transmission replaced three times so far in the 28 months of ownership. Ford refuses to buy my car back even though they know it is defective.
Car shudders violently when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear often leading to control issues. It sometimes cant make up its mind whether it wants to downshift or not so it makes it hard merging onto a highway because I cant get up to speed. When is finally does decide what gear it wants to go in it will jerk forward even in stop and go traffic so I have to constantly switch between braking and giving it gas to avoid hitting the car in front of me. The car only has 34000 miles and I bought it new and the dealership won't take it back. This car is a safety risk and an accident waiting to happen. Took it to the dealership and they could recreate the problem according to them.
When powertrain is warm and vehicle is accelerating from a stop, there is a loud grinding sound, vehicle shuddering and vibration, and resulting engine hesitation as the transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear. Occasionally at highway speeds (55-65 mph) there is a noticeable vibration and shuddering as the vehicle moves into and out of overdrive gears. I have taken the car to the dealership that sold it to me twice with concern about this problem and the service tech says they are waiting for Ford to recall the faulty components, and that this is a common complaint.
takata recall . My 2017 Ford Focus has 42,600 miles and about 4 months ago the car started to shake when I would accelerate from iddle to first gear.
Car shudders from 1st to 2nd gear when at a complete stop or while driving. I have taken the car back to the dealer multiple times. They replaced the clutch twice. The other times they verify the shutter but said its with in normal spec. They said Ford is aware of the issue.
When I accelerate from the stop, or on a turn, my car shakes tremendously as if the transmission is going to tear itself apart; this started about a month and a half ago. I am currently serving overseas, and bought this brand-new vehicle through a military auto-sales company figuring I would have a reliable vehicle while I am at this duty station, rather than buying a used vehicle. Boy was I wrong, every time I am on the road, and have to stop for the numerous traffic jams I am in, I fear that my car is going to break down permanently in a terrific spectacle; thank you Ford, thank you for taking what money I had for a modest vehicle. . . Just taking it.
Car hesitates and shakes at acceleration causing risk of accident. It jumps when going from a stopped or slow position to giving it gas. It was in motion when I tried to pass another vehicle and another car was coming head on. My car would not go due to the engine shaking. It will do the same thing at a stop sign and you give it the slightest amount of gas. Worsens as it heats up.
Car shudders anytime I excelerate from a stop. Also looses poser in the middle of taking off from a complete stup. . . The shudder is terrible and very concerning. I already had the transmission fixed at 25000 mile . . I am at 32000 and its starting to do the same problem. . . Ford needs to step up on this. . We need a class action suit ,like they are doing in canada on this problem with Ford motor company canada.
The car shake when driving,at times the put new cliches last year but still do it but when you take it back ,the say it doesn't show a code . I bout the car brand new 3 yrs. Ago and I have been complaining off and on . They are aware of the problem, they will tell you that, but it have to show a code, that why they replaced new cliches. But is still doing it alone with a noisy sound. Thank you.
