At 66,000 miles my 2005 Ford Freestar van developed a high-pitched whine at highway speeds it started only when van had been driven for some distance but increased in frequency. Took to a shop and it was diagnosed as bearing failure in both front hubs simultaneously. Very expensive to repair ($775).
