The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle would not respond to acceleration attempts and stalled with the illumination of an unknown warning light. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 37,000. Updated 03/20/lj.
I bought the car with 12000 miles on it and under warranty. At 12750 miles the transmission began to flare from 2nd to 3rd gear and 4th to 5th gear. I took it to the dealer and the transmission was reprogrammed and I was told to drive it apx. 250 miles and it would correct itself. At 13150 miles the problem was worse than before so I took it back in. The dealer checked it and said nothing was wrong and that the cold transmission flare was" normal". I know that the transmission was not designed to flare until it gets warm. After viewing several hundred complaints on line, all for the same problem, it seems you would required Ford to fix this problem. It is a big time safety hazard when the car looses power and forward motion in traffic. This defect is a major accident and probably deaths waiting to happen. Please do something to help all of us since it is evident that Ford does not care and will not take it on it's to fix the problem or stand behind their product.
The automatic transmission in my 2010 Fusion se shifts erratically in the low gears. The vehicle is still under warranty so I took it to the Ford stealership. I had pulled the transmission dipstick and noticed that the fluid was greyish black colored. They told me that the fluid was supposed to be that color. I asked them to get a brand new quart of the mercon lv fluid, and proved it was a dark red. I talked them in to replacing the transmission fluid for free. I swear the dealerships lie through their teeth to keep from doing anything for free under warranty. The vehicle still shifts funny; in the first two gears it feels like it slips even though it really isn't slipping. Its just a choppy shift of gears. They said the way it shifts is normal, however, when I asked them to put that in writing and sign it, they wouldn't do it. The response was "it has a 60k mile power train warranty. " way to change the subject! appears to me that Ford and its crooked dealerships are quick to sell you a car, but slow to take care of you after the sale. (if they take care of you at all that is. ) I think mike rowe should tell people this on the Ford tv commercials.
Throttle body went bad on my 2010 Ford Fusion v6 after only having 45,000 miles on it. On vehicle not even 2 years old; a part this important shouldn't fail.
The wrech warning light comes on in my 2010 Ford Fusion most of the time it is after it has been driven for awhile then shut off and restarted soon after but yesterday it happened as I was driving the car loses power will only go about 35 mph no matter how far you push the accrelartor when trying to ascend a steep hilll it would only go 10 miles per hour.
While driving on the highway, my car suddenly slipped gears on its own and started to slow down and the wrench light was illuminated. I was nearly rear ended and I had my children in the car with me. I managed to make it to the emergency lane and at that point the car thrusted forward and jerked. I put it in park and turned it off and back on and light was gone. The next day while driving to work on highway again, same problem. I took it to local Ford that evening only to get a phone call that they cant duplicate the problem. I told them of the numerous complaints I found online about this problem and that I didnt feel safe leaving the lot. They said they havent heard of any complaints nor any tsbs on this car! I sent them a link to this website and told them to read it. Currently they have not called me back with an answer. I bought this car with about 25,000 miles on it 3 months ago and currently I am at 29,700. I surely didnt expect to have a major issue like this. I own another Ford which has lasted well over 200k miles but I have never been placed in danger with any vehicle like this. The dealerership told me when the car does that it goes into limp mode for "safety' reasons. I dont see how safe that can be if you cause a pile up on the freeway. My question I am waiting to ask them is even if they drove my car and got the same issue, if the read out on machine doesnt tell them whats wrong, how are they to fix it? will they still say nothing was wrong becasue they computer can't duplicate it? or do they think I like being without a vehicle and wasting everyones time?.
I bought my 2010 Ford Fusion approximately 18 months ago, have had the transmission broken down, rebuilt reprogrammed and am now being told they can find nothing wrong with my car. However, seeing how I am the one who has narrowly escaped several highly dangerous collisions on both streets and highways I find it really hard to believe nothing is wrong with my transmission. While driving the transmission will get stuck while shifting from one gear to the next, usually but not limited to 2nd, 3rd & 4th gear and will sometime slip gears when transitioning from reverse to drive. I have taken my car in four times now and am continually told they can find nothing wrong with the transmission. These highly dangerous transmission misfires happen every day I drive my car, no matter the driving condition.
Erratic shifting. Slipping clutches. Holds onto gears with no shift. Acceleration hesitation. Extreme at times. Twice, while attempting to accelerate and merge onto expressway, the engine dropped to almost idle for over a second. When the engine did catch it went to red line so quickly had to let up on the accelerator. This further confused the trans. Nearly got rear ended but was not only because of the quick reaction of the other drivers. Software has been reloaded twice. Not any better. Ford keeps promising a fix is coming. Been waiting over a year.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact was braking from approximately 5 mph when the engine exhibited an abnormal increase in engine rpms and the transmission became unresponsive. The contact was able to resume driving yet the failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was awaiting diagnosis of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,500.
I bought a slightly used (it was a dealer auto) 2010 Ford Fusion sel. Since I first purchased in February 2010, I have experienced very jerky and uneven shifting. I even brought the car back after owning it for about 1 week, but the dealer monaco Ford in CT talked me into keeping the car, saying that it is different type of engine (6 cylinder) than I was used to. But it felt wrong and always has. Then, I got a recall notice in the mail or service notice notifying me of transmission problems with the make/model of my car. It came from Ford and I was instructed to bring the car in for service. I did, but nothing changed. I learned to live with it, but over the past month, the car has become worse and worse - shifting has become so jerky that I experienced severe jolts and whiplash about 5 times. I brought the car in on March 7, 2011 and the transmission is damaged due to a broken front axle seal - I looked online and this seems to be related to the problems with my make/type of vehicle. I need help - I can't afford to keep a car that is not safe. The dealer told me it is not safe to drive and all reports I have read state that these problems are often not fixable - with one problem after another recurring with the transmissions in the affected vehicles. As I bought the car slightly used, I don't think I can sue through the lemon law. I need help!.
I have had several issues with my 2010 Ford Fusion transmission sel v6. Ive taken it to the dealership several times. They finally did a reprogram Dec 09, 2010 with 8k miles. Then complete transmission rebuild 2/15/11 with 11k miles on it. Now I'm experiencing the same problems yet again at 16k. I have to take it right back to the dealership. They always tell me nothing is wrong. The trans has to adapt to my driving again. Why is the car shutting off? transmission surging gears, not picking up, car bucking in the morning when going from park to drive. It's been terrible. I hate driving in rush hour because I never know what my car is going to do. Every time I take it to the dealership they say nothing is wrong. I'm sick of paying $30 a day for repeated transmission issues. It's out of hand and unsafe. I have a toddler in my car. This is the whole reason I buy new cars. . . So that I never worry about being stranded and I feel safe with my baby in the car. This is the worst car I've ever owned.
2010 Fusion se l2. 5l fwd-transmission leaks oil at the driver side half shaft seal. Its zero out and & the grove box manual has no sub freezing proceedure to check the atf. After 2 days of ownership I contacted Ford service and they were unaware of any TSB's for this problem. After some googling I found 6 or so TSB's on this 6f35 transmission and many customer complaints cronicled in forums. Even Fords own Fusion forum has more negative than positive about this transmission. Fordfusionforum. Com.
Transmission shifting problems in 2010 Ford Fusion, 4 cyl, 6 speed automatic transmission. Transmission replaced at 12,000 miles by Ford under warranty. Vehicle now has 36,000 miles and shifts irratically on a random basis. Typically vehicle must be driven at least 8 miles before problems occurs. Common problem involves 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift. Transmission will shift hard or will shift into neutral. Ford diagnostic computers indicate transmission is operating properly. Internet search reveals that this is a common problem. Dangerous condition presented when vehicle driven in traffic, up hills, and when entering interstate system.
2010 Ford Fusion 6000 miles experiencing transmission shifting issues since 3000 miles. Dealer says they don'tnotice anyhting and no TSB's but there are tons of web posts about defective transmissions and recalls noting the same issues, hard shifting , delays, etc.
I have a 2010 Ford Fusion with 13k miles on it, that has been providing me with tremendous amount of heartache. The vehicle will automatically slip into random gears while driving, even to the extent of shifting from 6 gear all the way down to 1st. I was driving down I-17 in arizona doing the speed limit of 75mph when for the second time it slipped all the way in to 1st gear. Both times this occurred it nearly caused an accident because my speed decreased so suddenly I was almost rear end at 75mph. I am actually fearful for my wife, who primarily drives it, and my son safely. I have brought the vehicle in before and they cant find anything wrong with it, but yet there are numerous customers with the same complaint. A simple online search will reveal that. Ford is aware of this problem, but individual dealers are only treating the symptoms and not actually fixing the problem. This has to be corrected before someone dies.
Transmission had to be rebuilt around 20,000 miles. After it was rebuilt the car had no power so they reprogrammed it for the 6th time with the third different program. Now drives worse than ever. Routinely shifts between 5000 and 6000 rpm. Gas mileage has decreased. I was told the new program is designed to make the car shift higher so the clutch doesn't burn out again.
2010 Ford Fusion reference odi # 10351655 since the first registered complaint of rough and erratic shifting (odi 10351655) my transmission has completely failed. The Ford service manager where we are waiting repair said he had not seen one in such a physical state, anything that could have melted was melted. Ford has a problem with this tranmission as it is recommended for recreational towing. The unit had been adjusted and "fixed" twice before according to Ford specifications and the information in bulliten (Ford TSB 09-20-13) was followed. While traveling at a speed of approximately 62 mph the transmission malfunctioned and became totally disabled. If we weren't towing this vehicle securely behind a motorhome but rather driving at that rate and the cars transmission self-destructs what possible damage to life and property might have occurred???? this faulty transmission is not the only isolated incident! other dealers have been waiting for weeks for replacement parts to rebuild transmissions as a remedy to the problem. I've been assured that I will be receiving another transmission (possibly a remanufactured unit) that has received modifications for flat/ recreational towing. I would hope your agency investigates this situation thoroughly before anyone is seriously injured or killed as a result of a malfunctioning transmission in the Ford Fusion and 2009-2010 escape along with the Mercury 2010 milan and 2009-2010 mariner. I was also lead to believe that Ford had distributed information through their fmc dealer network concerning the remanufactured transmission units that had been modified for flat towing. If this information is not released publically anyone is at risk, whether driving the vehicle or traveling on the roadways along with vehicles that have the defective transmissions. Please contact me at [xxx] regarding this matter. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My car went to a Ford dealership back in April of 2010 to have recall 10b15 (powertrain control module reprogramming) performed. Ever since the recall has been performed the car is experiencing a problem with a pause in acceleration around 25 mph. Whenever I am driving at or just around 25 mph in city driving conditions the car will experience a long delay between the time I push the gas pedal and the time it actually takes the car to move forward. There have been several occurrences where I have almost been rear ended due to my car not moving forward immediately like it is suppose to during normal gas pedal operation. My car was taken back to the same dealership regarding this problem and after test driving they said the car was working properly at this time. I wish a recall would be forced upon Ford to remedy this problem before someone gets injured or killed!.
I have a 2010 Ford Fusion 4cyl automatic with 20k miles. I have had transmission issues since I purchased this car in 2010. I am experiencing choppy and jerky shifting. When driving at low speeds in traffic the car will shift and jerk forward. Also, when shifting from reverse to forward, the car will sometimes violently jerk forward. I took the car in about 8 months ago and the technician couldn't get the issues to repeat and told me there was nothing wrong. I am now complaining since I noticed this is a well known issue and Ford is ignoring it.
Car had not been driven for one week. Experienced a jerky transmission shift, most severely when accelerating to about 35, then letting off the gas to maintain speed. Feels like the transmission shift for not good reason, and the engine jerks.
I believe I was sold a defective 2010 Ford Fusion. I believe the transmission wa faulty and they knew about it. The car was slow to shift bolted when put into reverse. The car was recalled.
I own a 2010 Ford Fusion se v4, the car is having transmission problem and not fixed even after it was at the dealership for 2 weeks. After all the arguments I manage to get the rental car (focus) for only 5 days. I wrote letter to both company and the dealership but I don't know how serious they are taking this matter. Please have them replace the transmission or fix the problem ASAP before car breaks down in middle of no where and somebody ends up getting hurt. Thank you.
I have a transmission problem where it slip into neutral for a few seconds between 1-2 and 2-3 causing an acceleration delay while in traffic. The engine just revs and then a shuttered lurch when the transmission slams into the next gear. I have had the car in for repair, was told the transmission was fine and all it needed was a reprogram. Now I still have the issue, i’m taking the car back in and i’m dismayed to hear that even if they now rebuild the trans, i’ll still have to deal with the problem as Ford doesn’t know how to fix it. And I have been told by the dealership “you can bring it in and we’ll check it out but I don’t think we can fix it. € NHTSA has to step in, Ford owners are in jeopardy.
In yellowstone national park, I was driving north from canyon village to tower falls. A sign said, "7% downgrade 6 miles all vehicles use lower gear". The Ford Fusion se v6 with automatic gives the choice of first, which redlines at about 35 mph, or drive, which will shift to 6th gear even on the level at 35mph. I had to ride the brakes for the next six miles. At the bottom of the hill is a pedestrian crossing and a speed limit of 15 mph. I pulled off to the parking lot at tower falls and the smell of hot brakes was everywhere. The vehicle's wheels were hot. If the brakes had faded, I would have hit the pedestrian crossing at high speed unless I found a nice rock wall to run into instead. The vehicle desperately needs engine braking. The engine ran at about 1,000 rpm all the way down the mountain. It idles at about 500 rpm when hot, so the engine braking was nearly nonexistent.
I have a 2010 Ford Fusion which was recalled for the transmission problems. I brought it in for the hard shifts and when put into drive it feels as if the transmission is going to fall out of the front end. They keep telling me nothing is wrong with the car. This is crazy seeing this is a new vehicle with only 5,000 miles on it.
I have a Ford Fusion 2010. I first noticed my car had an issue in April. I was behind a truck and it was slowing down so I stepped on the brake. I took my foot off the brake and the car accelerated by itself. I was in ky over the weekend and noticed the car speeding up into passing gear after I stepped on the brake. I get home from ky and find a recall for a transmission issue. I did not report the problems I was having to the dealer because I saw what the media did to owners of toyotas saying that their foot slipped off the brake and on to the gas. I took the car to the dealer for the recall issue this past Tuesday. It was noted I was the first to report that the car accelerated by itself. Im not sure if I fall into the stupid category or not but I did notice in the paper yesterday that floor mats maybe causing the accelerating issue. Who ever said this is really the stupid one. And please do not blame this on driving habits im averaging 25. 1 miles per gallon. Do I trust my car with only 4100 miles on it? would you?.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that his vehicle was serviced at an authorized dealer for an unknown transmission repair. Afterward, whenever he would release his foot from the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would down shift and the failure would recur at any traveled speed. The dealer informed the contact that they had recalibrated the power control module in accordance with a new federal regulation. The vehicle was not further repaired and the failure continued to recur. The failure mileage was 1,500 and the current mileage was 1,900.
2010 Ford Fusion 4 cylinder, 6 speed automatic transmission. Problem: automatic transmission. Engine speeds-up, between up-shifts 3-4 and 4-5. Problem started within 1st week of ownership. Vehicle has been in for transmission related problems 2-times, waiting to schedule 3rd. All 3000 miles or less.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that in order to shift gears, she would have to allow the vehicle to idle for approximately eight minutes. The dealer was unable to offer a remedy for the failure. The contact confirmed she had experienced the failure on multiple occasions. The failure mileage was 9 and the current was 900. Updated 05/18/2010.
Incident: 2010 Ford Fusion, 4 cyl, 6 spd auto. Vehicle experiencing harsh shifting at low speeds or initially shifting into gear. Violent shifting when accelerating to enter a highway. High rpms when resuming the 60 mph set cruise control speed from 35 mph, the transmission cannot seem to finally shift into 6 spd. The vehicle computer has been reset by Ford service and the problem has gotten worse. The car is again being looked at by Ford. Service manager commented that the computer remedy might not work if not done prior to 7000 miles. Why then has Ford waited to inform owners about their known transmission problem? Ford needs to take responsibility and work with the transmission supplier to remedy and replace the defective transmissions. Transmission breakdowns will become move prevalent as more of these highly touted vehicles are sold and driven if Ford doesn't own up to the problem. Please intercede on behalf of consumers that own these vehicles and have had no luck with Ford fixing the problematic transmission. I presently have 13000+ miles on the car and purchased it to provide safe transportation and Ford assured me it could be recreational towed with no problems as long as the manual instructions were followed. Updated 09/23/10 the consumer stated since filing the complaint, the transmission in his vehicle was totally destroyed. The damage occurred while the vehicle was being towed. Updated ivoq 09/24/10.
My car is experiencing a problem dealing with acceleration hesitation. Many times I required acceleration to take over a car by depressing the gas pedal, followed by no power response in middle of the overtaking. During these episodes the engine began oscillating crazily between rev excessively and the rpm's increased rapidly (from 7000 to 10000 rpm) and decreasing without control without not power response. In addition, the transmission exhibited a delay and a hard shift. The failure occurred intermittently. This failure put me in a high risk during thetaking over in the highway as power did not response and I almost collided twice the vehicle is in the service shop from the dealer and has not been repaired at this time. First dealer diagnostic mentioned that it was a matter of reprogramming the car's computer systems however problem remained and they retained the car for further investigation giving a second diagnostic of body valveâ´s transmission problem. Ford mentioned that new body valves will be available by March the 31st, I have not date from Ford and dealer when car will be totally repaired and if this is the real solution.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While the contact was driving approximately 45 mph, the transmission began to exhibit erratic and violent shifting. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the transmission was replaced for the third time. The failure mileage was 9,700.
2010 Ford Fusion se, transmission problems jerking slipping this is the second time I have had the car in the shop. First time they put a new part on who knows what is going on now. I bought a new car not a car with rebuilt items. This is ridiculous and unfair. Ford did well this year off the hard earned money of americans and they should be ashamed for the unprofessional and down right nasty way they have treated this problem. And from what I have read it has been an on going problem for a few year.
Vehicle has problem shifting gears, slows down, then it starts to go. I have taken it into Ford 3 separate times, a recall was done on the vehicle for a computer chip, again had the vehicle into service in 09/2011 for the same issue. The vehicle has 34,000 miles on it and attempt to replace the rear brakes. . . Driver rear side had no pad left, checked the three other brakes plenty of pad. Surburban Ford service desk told me because my car was green metallic, not covered in latest recall. I looked at the recall notices and it is absolutely the same problem I've been complaining about from the first month I purchased this vehicle!.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact was driving approximately 55 mph when she noticed that the vehicle was jumping gears abnormally. The vehicle was also exhibiting an unusual increase in engine rpms and loud roaring noise. The contact stated that the failure would occur whether sitting idle, in park or in drive. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer who informed the contact that they were unable to diagnose the problem. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.
