Received an "advancetrac system" fault warning and my brakes failed. Abs system has faulted, as well as, engages during stops no matter the speed. Has difficulty coming to a full stop unless the transmission is disengaged. There is a recent recall for this model, but my vehicle was not included in this recall notice. When vehicle is in motion and braking on snow covered, wet and/or bumpy roads, the brakes will momentarily fail as the brake pedal goes way down to near the floor before re-engaging the brakes. This results in temporary loss of breaking and greater stopping distance then initially intended and has happened on multiple occasions. This is a major safety issue as I almost hit a pedestrian on a city street when the brakes failed to engage while breaking over a small pot hole. The pedal needed to be depressed down much farther then normal.
Brake system failed, lost all hydraulic function. Found recalls for this issue but Ford is denying there was a recall. Because my car was not built within the timeframe. The recall # 19s54 is exactly what my car is doing and they deny a problem, yet when I took the car to smithtown Ford for service the told me the abs hcu needs to be replaced at a cost of 1300. 00 I need Ford to take responsibility for this repair.
While driving both on city streets and on highway the brakes have failed with the pedal going to the floor and no slowing of the vehicle. After each of these incidents the system rebuilds pressure and functions as it should for a while. The problem has been identified as a faulty valve in the system. This has been reported to Ford motor company with no resolution offered. Further research shows the company is aware of this problem and has a reference number of 19s54 for the problem but refuses to fix the problem.
Brakes failed , brake pedal goes all the way to the floor no pressure to stop the my vehicle had to use emergency break to stop it had to call tow truck to bring it to halliburton auto clinic to see what was going on with the breaking and it checked out to be abs hydraulic control unit. The mechanic asked did I want it fixed I told him yeah because it couldn't be driven and its my only transportation . So they fixed it after paying for service I got a letter about the recall . I called Ford to see what to do about a reimbursement they say I have to wait for the 2nd letter.
Brakes failed at 127,000 miles due to faulty abs pump. Brakes pressed all the way to floor while driving and at stops . Error codes in picture.
Complete brake failure due to an electronic component failure. The brake pedal went all the way to the floorboard. There was no collision and the vehicle came to rest on the shoulder of the highway. Check brake system he car has no brake.
I had a recurring issue where the power brakes failed and we were forced to depress the brakes almost to the floor to get them to work. I reported this issue a couple years ago and was contacted by a NHTSA employee. At that time the dealer had said it was permanently resolved, which I told the NHTSA employee. The employee told me to contact him if it happened again. It happened again this evening. I replied to the employee's email, however the employee no longer seems to work there. It occurred while I was backing slowly out of my driveway, and shifting out of reverse to drive. The brake assist service light came on.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brakes failed intermittently to operate as designed, without warning. The vehicle was taken to autonation Ford jacksonville (10720 philips highway, jacksonville, FL 32256, (904) 242-6499) to be diagnosed however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, informed the contact that the remedy part was not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 152,737. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
I was drive through line with my foot on the brake and my brake pedal all of the sudden when all the way to the floor. I tried to pump it and it stayed floppy. I parked my car, set my e-brake and turned it off. When I restarted it, it worked again. One week later while driving approximately 35 mph I went to stop as I was approaching traffic and my brake completely failed, going to the floor once again. I tried pumping it and it was complete to response less. I pulled my e-brake and veered into a nearby parking lot narrowly avoiding an accident. A message across the dash read break system failure. We took it in the next day, the message was gone, all visual computer checks were fine. The mechanic kept it several days and put over 30 miles on it without an issue. I'm scared to drive it now as I have read that there are many reports of this problem with this car.
I was driving to work and I went to stop at a red light and the brakes failed. My car has been at the dealership for a few days and they have replaced several parts but they have been unable to regain any brakes. I haven't had my vehicle for 3 weeks because no one can figure out the issue.
Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the brakes had failed to function properly when applied. The brake pedal had gone to the floor several times causing the contact to have to apply force and pump the brake pedal each time the failure had happened. In addition, there was no warning indicator when the eps failed causing the steering wheel to have been extremely tight when attempting to turn the steering wheel in either direction. The vehicle was also serviced for a manufacturer extended warranty campaign for the throttle body, however the contact had noticed that the vehicle had been slow to pick up speed while the other two failures had progressed. The dealer worthington Ford, 2950 n bellflower blvd, long beach, CA 90815,1-(562) 420-3333 had been unable to provide a permanent remedy yet for the three failures the contact was experiencing. The contact was not included in NHTSA action number: ea17004 (steering) and pe13003 (engine). The manufacturer was notified of the failures, the contact was waiting for a response from the manufacturer to determine if they may be able to provide a permanent fix for the dealers required repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.
My 2010 Ford Fusion had abs hydraulic control unit failure. Brakes failed to function correctly when abs activated during braking brake pedal would go to floor with only faint braking possible. This happened three times thankfully there wasn't an accident and no one was injured. I took to dealer for resolution. Dealer unable to diagnose the problem first 2 times. I took to dealer the third time they were able to replicate the problem. Abs hcu was replaced. Repair cost was very expensive.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the brakes failed. The contact had to slam on the brake pedal with excessive force to stop the vehicle. The failure occurred more than once. Multiple messages and unknown warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel, including "service advancetrac" and "service brakes". The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that a new anti-lock brake system control module was needed. The vehicle was currently being repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 81,000.

The approximate failure and current mileage was 65,000.
Just starting off from a traffic light the car started to stall. The car was towed to montrose Ford where they determined a part in the transmission failed. The part was ordered and replaced a few days later. On the 16th of September while driving the brakes failed. The car was taken to ganley Ford on the 19th of sept. They initially determined it was a transmission problem, exactly the same problem that was repaired in August. On the 21st of sept. The maintenance people drove the car with a computer connected to analyze what was happening but found nothing wrong. Now they say the problem is hydraulic related but will need to keep the car for at least 30 days to solve the problem. At this time they have no idea what is really wrong. Inside the car is an intermittent noise. It can only be heard when just starting out or at very slow speeds. Ganley Ford has no idea where this noise is coming from.
My wife called me after she was involved in a accident with our 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid. I told her to call our insurance company in carthage new york to report to them first as there was no damage to the car that she hit but some to ours. She gave the company the name and number of the other car involved to which they followed up with that they had no damage to their car. She took our car to the dealer to who I asked if they had any reports of brake failure on these cars. After being told of no trouble from Ford I went online and found several issues with the hybrid brake system. I took the info back to them and they found the recall on these cars. My wife had no brakes when she tried to slow and hit the car to come to rest. No airbags were deployed as it was moving slow but after the original estimate of $120. To the high of $521. And because of the amount no claim to our insurance company I now after taking in to have repaired I have a new one of $1948. From the dealership. I contacted Ford and they sent me forms if I decide to pursue a claim against them. The roads were dry, clear and she had no perceived braking on this car. The car has been fixed by the dealership on the recall and I certainly will file my claim with Ford but the hoops that they want me to jump through appear to be unwarranted as to their brake problems that don't seem to get the attention that Toyota is receiving on the same brake system. My dealer agrees with us that we are in no responsible for the repair but at this time I am stuck with trying to pursue litigation as the form states to resolve with Ford. Help please if you can or at least make aware that yes Ford does have their own issues. The same brake failure or as Ford says, perceived brake failure occurred with a consumer report engineer and that is where I originally found out to take the information to my dealership. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.
2010 Ford Fusion hybrid purchased 08/07/09 if I am reading the paperwork correctly it was manufactured in hermosillo, mexico 6/23/09 10/20/09 brakes failed (pedal goes to floor & warning dash lights lit), slowed with parking brake, brakes okay after engine turn off and restart. Dealer found nothing, no codes, no TSB's, no ssm's 10/28/09 brakes failed as above, slowed with parking brake, brakes okay after engine turn off and restart. Dealer found nothing, no codes. 10/30/09 brakes failed twice as above, slowed with parking brake, brakes okay after engine turn off and restart. Dealer called Ford. Ford authorized free rental car and provided a technician to assist dealer. Result: replaced brake booster travel sensor, reprogrammed pcm power train control module with later version of the software, there is a tech service bulletin on this but my car did not show the codes the first 2 times I brought it in. On the third time the factory showed the dealer how to look for codes in a different manner. 2/4/10 brakes are continuing to work fine since the dealer fixed them. This is not really a complaint, but I see others on the internet who are having this problem and the dealers appear to be having trouble like mind did.
