The car stalls and shifts gears after stopping at a red light or stop sign then after moments of pressing the gas pedal it spins off and jerks really hard on a freeway it rides very well it only stalls after waiting at a light or stop sign or tapping onto the break also the car has new break pads but it sounds like something is scrubbing and while I was backing out of a parking lot the car made a huge popping and threw me back while my foot was on the break it scared me so I got out to see what happened and I didn't hit anything nor did anything hit me so I tried to drive home and the car jerked the entire way home almost.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving 25 mph, the vehicle stalled and turned off. Error code p2112 - stuck throttle body. Acceleration disappears at high rate of speed, resulting in limp along, no propulsion to zero. Car stalls in high speed traffic, requiring immediate pullover. Very unsafe. Other Fusions of same exact year, production location, and model are covered under a customer service bulletin 13n03, but not the hybrids, even though experiencing the same exact issue. Just want this potentially fatal bug to be removed from my vehicle. Ford indicates no coverage or fix, due to it being a hybrid. . . Although same issue as non-hybrid Fusions from same year, production facility, build date.
Takata recall whenever I come to a complete stop, my car seems to stop accelerating or stall. The rpm goes up, put it does not accelerate. I have to pull over, and cut my car off for it to start driving again and repeat that process when it happens again and its been happening for a while. When I got my transmission fluid flushed and topped of it stopped happening for a few months, but then it started messing up again.

If I slow down or stop the car will give out I got a diagnostic done three times and three different things came up and I got all the fix but it still do the same thing I see other people that have the same car have the same problem I was on the expressway when this did this this is very dangerous.
When at a stop it stops running. The idle speed drops and fluctuates. It is stalling when stopped. Wrench light came on and lasted 20 miles and then went off.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the throttle body and fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired three times; however, the failure recurred. When vehicle is stationary throttle decreases to below 500 rpm, and sometimes stalls. Transmission and engine check come in intermittently. Ford aware of the throttle body and accelerator problem but won't fix it until broken. Took it to dealership and paid $125 for diagnostic but they told me there is no problem. I called Ford and they just referred me back to the dealership stating they are aware of the problem but won't fix it until it is broken. Please help, I can't drive the car due to the safety concern.
Engine would drop to idle and not respond to accelerator pedal, only restarting would solve. Escalated to engine completely dying requiring a restart often at highway speed. On 10/20 driving to airport in chicago, car died a total of 7 times. Called Ford corporate regarding the etb customer satisfaction program, found my vehicle VIN was not included. On 10/22 took to Ford dealer and the etb was replaced at customer expense. Was told that the codes were exactly the same as the etb's being replaced under the customer satisfaction program. Called Ford corporate again, but would not included in the program. A serious potentially life-threatening issue when a vehicle stalls in heavy traffic. Suggest that all of the 2010 Ford Fusions should be included in the satisfaction program or the program should be upgraded to a recall program.
While driving, the car will suddenly lose all acceleration and the maintenance wrench light will come on. This has happened while accelerating from a stop, and while going 60 mph down the highway. The only way to reset it is to restart the car. If the car is not restarted, it will shake vigorously as if it is going to stall on its own. Once restarted, acceleration is restored to normal until it does the same thing again.

Wife called me at 6. 15 am on her way to work and advised the car stalled in the middle of the road wrench light, service light illuminated. She was able to restart car and continue driving. The next 3 minutes the car stalled again with just the wrench light illuminated. I told her not to drive the car and to see if it would start to get to a safe place. She was able to move the vehicle to a safe place. I will now bring this vehicle to a dealer. The transmission is also jerking, clunking and not shifting properly. There is certainly a transmission and engine problem with this vehicle. Please continue to investigate, recalll or have Ford fix the issue at no charge to the consumer. Thanks you.
Took car in to tropical Ford in orlando for driveability recall. They claimed to reprogram the pcm. Now on sept. 6 the car is losing power and stalling out. Also the wrench icon is showing on the dash which in the manual states the issue is the throttle control/transmission. I will have the car towed back to the dealer sept. 8 to have repaired. I suspect is etb connectivity problem, a lot of similar complaints/recall repairs online.
2010 Ford Fusion. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle throttle body malfunction. The consumer stated if the throttle body malfunctioned, it could cause the vehicle to stall.
Vehicle broke down last evening, stalled with wrench light and engine light while driving in traffic. Was able to safely coast to the side of the road and have vehicle towed to dealership. Dealer has diagnosed faulty electronic signal in the throttle body. Dealer has offered to replace the throttle body for $397. (note: mafs was replaced in this vehicle in January, 2010, only a couple of weeks after I bought it -- not sure if that is relevant or not. ) Ford currently has customer satisfaction program #13n03 for extended warranty coverage on throttle bodies for other 2010 Fusions, but they informed me that my vehicle was not included in this program. Perhaps it would be wise for Ford to take a second look to determine if their current customer satisfaction program needs to be expanded?.
I was driving on an interstate going 65 mph when my gas peddle stopped working, it would not make my car accelerate. The rpms dropped down to 1000-1500 and my car immediately started to slow down. I pulled to the side of the road and as I slowed down the car jumped and acted like it was stalling out. The wrench light on the dash also illuminated. I put the car in park and let the car run for about 1o more minutes before it stalled out. Thinking that my car was broken down and I was going to have to get it towed. Before I called for a tow I restarted the car and when I did, it ran fine.
Car stalled all of a sudden traveling 70 mph in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway. The throttle went into limp mode and I was forced to abruptly pull off to the side of the road where the car sputtered with the wrench light on the dash. I started the car again, the wrench light went away and the engine started properly. I diagnosed the computer system and got two codes, p2111 and p2112. The throttle body is getting stuck open and stuck closed causing the car to go into limp mode. This is very dangerous for anyone traveling on a busy road and could definitely cause injury if someone is unable to react to the situation due to their car being inoperable.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 15 mph, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 88,560.
I was no longer able to accelerate. The car was running but while I was driving the car stalled in the middle of the road and as I tried to give the car gas it just increased rpm's but didn't move the car. I pulled off into a parking lot turned the car off and on and it began to run again, but lost all computer information so the mechanic couldn't figure out the problem. It has happened multiple times since then.
Car has stalled out before a few times. This time, it chugged with the wrench light on, brown/grey exhaust. Shut it off, tried again. The same. I inched my way over to the side of the street. So glad I was not on the freeway going to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! recall this car so we can get our money back, or give me big discount on new different car/truck. Poor workmanship on this year of vehicle. Car of the year? what a joke.
I was driving my kids home from school and as we were turning I pressed on the gas and it stalled, I pressed it again and nothing. Then today same thing in the middle of the intersection thank god there wasn't a lot of traffic.
I noticed several times that the car tends to shift hard (automatic transmission). Now I've had a problem with the transmission light coming on, the car stalling, and starts shimmying and shaking. Had it back to the dealer on Monday and they said they fixed it. However, this morning, I had the same incident occur. It is now back at the dealer to have it checked and hopefully fixed without any cost to me. I will be trading this Ford for another make of car. I had similar problems when I owned a Ford edge and traded it in. I also had problems with the Ford edge mytouch screen going out on me as well.
My 2010 Ford Fusion stalled many times last weekend. I pulled the car over to the side of the road, put it in park, and turned it off and back on, and it ran fine to get me home. I had no further problems with it until today, roughly a week later. It stalled on me twice at speed, and I had to pull over, turn it off, and restart the engine, upon which it ran fine. Each time it stalled, the wrench icon lit up on the dashboard after it stalled, but did not stay on once the engine was restarted. Today after the third stall, I noticed the car was kind of jerking as I pulled it to a stop, but as I pressed the gas nothing happened. I was told by Ford that this is the throttle position sensor (tps). This switch almost got me killed in heavy traffic more than once and it's a matter of time before someone get killed because Ford has yet to recall this part!!!.
Was driving about 40 miles per hour when the car started to stall as if it was running out of gas and wrench light (check engine) came on. Pulled over to side of road and car began to violently shake. Turned the car off, waited a minute, turned it back on and was able to drive it. Two days later, driving about 25 miles per hour, exact same thing happened. Four days later, 55 mph, same thing. It is now at the Ford dealership and they are unable to find code. Code was previously found as p2112 throttle actuator stuck open. I explained what was going on, the previous code, and that I have seen hundreds of complaints online about the same experience. Apparently they cannot just replace the part if they don't experience it themselves, at least not to be covered by extended warranty. Would appreciate a recall. Dangerous to drive this car with my 11 month old in it.
Vehicle stalled and went into limp mode causing me to have to pull to the side of the road. After stopping and restarting the car the car drove fine. Car was diagnosed at a local Ford dealer with a faulty throttle body.
The Fusion will stall at highway speed. When driving the "wrench" light will come on and the gas pedal becomes useless and it is left to coast down the road. The only thing you can do is pull over, if possible and put it in park and shut it off. Then the car shakes like crazy like the engine will explode if you don't shut if off fast enough. There entire time the tachometer is bouncing up and down and gas pedal is useless. Putting it in park does not fix the problem. You have to shut down the car. Once shut off, you can wait a few seconds and restart the car. This will usually start decent but sometimes will be hard to start. Then it will drive normal. This has happened multiple times and 2 x today while on the interstate. There is no chugging or warning, it will just stop letting you use the gas pedal and starts shaking violently. I found out it is a problem with the throttle body. This is expensive to fix and dangerous if you don't as you can not always simply pull to the side and restart your car. Not safe for me or my pregnant wife. Fix the problem Ford.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact was driving 35 mph when the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact placed the vehicle in park and restarted the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle performed normally once restarted but the failure later recurred. The contact also stated that she had an issue with the vehicle jerking and failing to increase speed despite the accelerator pedal being depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.
I was driving my fairly new and well taken care of Ford Fusion up a hill with my fiance' and 1 month old baby coming home. The car all of a sudden stalled and cause cars to almost crash into me. I had to hurry pull over and push the car out of traffic. Thank god I was not making a turn through traffic or else a tragedies could have happened. I traded my other Ford for this new one thinking it was safer choice. The engine tool came on then went off as I shut the car off. Today I was driving again on 11/4/13 and I was going through the green light and boom car stalled again!! this time traffic rushing to me on the side where they can't see my hazards on. Again with my baby in the car!!! I had to run out to stop traffic. Please NHTSA have Ford fix this ASAP or many people may be at risk of serious injury or death!!! they are putting babies at risk too!!!.
