I contacted the manufacturer about said issue, but based on my VIN number, this particular vehicle does not have this issue recalled, however, I'm having a hard time to believe this information. After doing more research I found on the website carcomplaints. Com there is numerous complaints of same issue. I am soooo mad because of what had happened, putting my family in danger. Although I am thankful to god that nothing bad really happened. Once again Ford needs to fix this issue. Thank you for your time and attention.
Electric power steering system failure while driving at normal speeds. This is the exact same system and failure addressed in safety recall 15s18 but for some reason it doesn't include 2010 Ford Fusion models but includes all other 2011-2012. Even with the exact power steering system and failure. Recall needs to be expanded to include 2010 models.
Electronic power steering failed while driving and without warning. Almost crashed, as the steering failed just as I was taking a turn. 1800 repair. I have had the car for a year, it has 86000 miles on it and it is junk. I am more concerned with the fact that I nearly crashed than the money (although I don't have the money to repair it).

For whatever reason, the 2010 Fusion was not included in this recall and after even a brief internet search of the issue, it definitely needs to be . This has resulted in a $1800 repair bill for a car with 62k miles.

Tl- the contact's relative owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while his relative was driving at 30 mph, she attempted to make a left turn and the power steering suddenly failed. Due to the failure, the contact drove into a ditch as several warning lights appeared on the instrument panel. The air bags did not deploy as a result of the accident. The contact suffered no injuries and the police were not called to the scene of the accident. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home after the failure. The contact called sarchione Ford Lincoln of alliance(2480 w state st, alliance, OH 44601) where he was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and gave the contact the same information as the dealer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 137,000. Jo.
Sudden power steering failure. Started going out while driving 25mph. Stopped the car then turned it back on, it had 0 power steering available after that. Endangered my 6 month old. Same issue as everyone else. Power steering goes out, same part recalled in 2011-2013. Same part is in my vehicle. Please make Ford help us with the 1600-2000 cost of replacement.

Tl the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at a low speed and attempting to make a left turn, the steering ceased with an oncoming vehicle approaching. The contact avoided a collision while using extra effort to steer the vehicle. The contact drove the vehicle at 4-5 mph to an independent mechanic to have the vehicle diagnosed however, the diagnosis was incomplete. The vehicle was then taken to a second independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the steering angle sensor and power steering failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 97,000.
Electronic power steering assist failure faulty engineering and failure to acknowledge the problem as a manufacturer for all models affected not just certain vins the car is one of the vins not recalled for the issue but has the stated issue like the other vehicles recalled, fully grown healthy man cant even move the steering wheel. Fird says it is not under recall the entire power steering rack has been replaced and still has no power steering.

The first time 27 Feb I had just finished filling up with gas and went to start the car and exit. Alarm sounded and power steering fail on the dashboard. Car hard to turn. Turned of car restarted and has fine. 2nd time 4 March 1830 started car to drive and steering locked up and alarm sounded.

The vehicle was take to chenoweth Ford inc dealer, (1564 e pike st, clarksburg, wv 26301) and was diagnosed that the whole power steering rack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repair due to the repair fees. The manufacturer was made of the failure and provided a reference number. The failure mileage was approximately 153,701. Aw.
Car was in detached very cold garage, started car. When putting in reverse noticed a warning on screen stating power steering failure. As I was backing out of garage I couldn't turn the steering wheel without a great deal of difficulty. After speaking with a friend decided to turn off the car and restart. When I did so, the power steering warning was gone and I could turn the steering wheel. I was able to drive the car 5 miles to a Ford dealership worrying the entire way that it would go off again. I've since been informed by Ford dealership that the entire power steering assembly needs to be replaced.

I started my car when leaving work and received an error that the power steering failed. I followed the guidelines in the book and turned off the car for 30 seconds and restarted. On restart the error returned. I drove car to mechanic and had no power steering. After talking with mechanic attempted to leave and still no power steering. Another error turned on prior to leaving the parking lot with advancetrac failure. Left car at mechanic. Error sounds similar to other Ford and Lincoln cars with power steering failure.
This vehicle has epas. Last night my wife drove the vehicle to the gas station and parked in front of a gas pump. Someone asked her to move forward and when she started the car, she received the "power steering assist failure" message and the power steering refused to work. The vehicle was stationary. She started the car and shut it off numerous times until the system reset and she was able to drive the vehicle home. This car belongs to an 85 year old woman and if the power steering fails while she is driving the car she would not have the strength to control the steering.

After 199. 00 diagnostic fee they tell me the power steering rack has to be completely replaced and it's going to cost me over $2,300. 00!!!! this is a known issue and Ford isn't doing anything to help people and yet the recalled the 2011 that uses the exact same power steering system. Now I am forced to buy another car the same month I was to pay it off because I dont have the $2300. 00 at christmas time to get a car fixed that is 9 years old. This is wrong. Ford should be held liable!!!.
