The engine makes a very loud ticking and whirring sound, there are also quite a few electrical components that will not communicate with the pcm causing errors on the vehicle code such as a switch component failure u2002-96 battery voltage circuit below and above threshold u3003-16 and u3003-17, electric park break enable - deactivated b1111-53. Lost communication with restraints control module u0151-00 lost communication with pscm u0131-00 invalid data received from pscm - alive/sequence counter incorrect/not updated and right rear tone wheel - mechanical failures c0039-07 even though there have not been any accidents and all maintenance has been done on proper time frame. The car shifts very hard and sometimes hangs on rpm before a shift causing an even harder gear change. The emergency breaking system does not work at all and there is no warning when you come close to any object wall or person. The reverse parking sensors also came loose and recessed into the back bumper by themselves with no tampering or touching.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 30 mph and shifting to first gear, the vehicle started jerking and shuddering. The contact stated that the failure increased in intensity whenever he shifted into a higher gear. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road, turned off and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle at slower speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the pcm was reset and the transmission oil was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact also stated that the failure would occur whenever the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking gasoline and was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the fuel injectors. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 125,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact heard an abnormal noise while driving the vehicle. The dealer replaced the battery, but it failed to correct the noise. While making a turn, there was a sudden loss of power and a warning indicator randomly illuminated for run power and the vehicle stalled several times without warning. The contact had to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road. The contact had to restart the vehicle a few times due to the failure. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in service campaign number: 14n02 to address the pcm reprogramming. The vehicle was towed to a dealer and was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. While the vehicle was idling, the coolant over temperature warning indicator illuminated, resulting in engine failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the bypass valve and the heater hose failed and needed to be replaced. Also, the power train control module needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 12v551000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
Yellow wrench light keep coming on while driving only down the highway at 65 to 70 mph, it also intermittent therefore the dealer cannot ever find problem codes. The codes erase when you turn off the car. I lose half of engine power and no other controls work such as cruise control and manual shifting paddle shifting. I was also told that it was my : "pcm" that is giving me the trouble. Also the electric fan is running at full speed blowing out cold air, plus the smell of burning plastic. Also when the car is started and running for about 7 to 10 minutes, I turn on the heater at 73 degrees and it is warm. Then after turning on the heater and now leaving for work, I accelerate to get onto the freeway and soon noticed that the heater is now blowing cold air and I then turn the heater up higher to 77 then the same warmth come out then that goes away til I turn the heater way up to 83 degrees. This has never happened before, I had the coolant and oil replaced and it is still doing the same thing. I get two warnings showing the yellow wrench, "power reduced to cool down engine" and "engine overheat" the sunnyvale Ford dealer charged me $200. 00 dollars to see what was wrong with my car and said they have found nothing. But this problem only happens on the freeway driving at 65 to 75 mph. Our freeways speed limits are high on interstates 5. I do see older Ford tempo's going 80 mph and passing me while I cannot go faster to get out of the way of others. Quite insulting to me while I spend out of pocket and Ford says nothing and I get back a broken car that works sometimes. The extended warranties I pay for does not cover anything so I'm paying for a car that is soon to fail and leave me stranded at the same time I have to pay for it. Ford continue to say my car is running well and returning it back to me with problems unfixed.
