The contact stated that the transmission failed to register any of the gear shift positions upon each shift. Consequently, the contact exited the vehicle, opened the hood and examined the transmission shift gear cable. The contact found that it had completely detached from the transmission. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that oil was leaking from the front driver side axle into the transmission, which was causing the transmission to fail.
