While driving on a 2 lane flat road the car started losing power, when I press the gas harder the car really speeded up and after 2 blocks it started losing power again, within that time the "hill start assist" warning light came on and went off losing power on and off for 5 miles until I reached home. After getting home I notice the brake light didn't go off after 2 hours, so I had to remove battery cable. I had to have it towed to repair shop and they repaired brake switch because I didn't know if it would stop completely.

Car parked at the driveway, started the car, see an engine light and wrench light in the dashboard, tried to accelerate gas pedal, it appears there's no accelerating power. Rpm unstable, engine shaking. Called aaa roadside assistance, aaa technician checked and started the car its the same issue. He recommended to disconnect the positive battery cable to reset computer system. Disconnected wait for 10 seconds and re-start the engine, then everything worked. Took the car to a Ford dealer, service advisor believe to be the electronic throttle body problem. Verificed in the computer if thiere's a recall for 2008 Ford Fusion, however nothing reported at this time.

2014 Ford Fusion titanium lost all electrical power on 03/03/2014 when my wife pulled into the garage. She said that she tried to remove the cd disc but it would not eject. I went into the garage and found that there was no electrical power at all. I then open the hood and removed the positive battery cable from the battery and reinstalled it after 1 minute and everything returned to normal. There has not been anymore incidents since today's date of 03/11/2014.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the battery cable assembly was burned, causing five fuses to malfunction. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and current mileage was 51,960. Updated 01/07/lj updated 1/17/2014.
Travelling approximately 70-75 mph on us highway vehicle lost power and entered into a limited power "limp home" mode, dropping engine to idle speed and causing a wrench light to activate on the dash and activation of "check engine" light. Vehicle losing power nearly resulted in motor vehicle collision with other vehicles. After moving to shoulder of roadway and shutting off vehicle and turning it back on the problem corrected for approximately 2 miles where issue occurred again, this time at speeds approximately 60 mph. After shutting off and powering back on vehicle the problem again corrected for less than a mile. Vehicle continued same problem after shutdown another 8 times within 5 miles. Only roadside correction to issue was to remove negative battery cable to reset computer. After completing this task vehicle would run normally for approximately 10 miles where issue would return. Vehicle was taken to shop where a diagnostic computer showed codes of p2112 and p2111, throttle actuator stuck open and throttle actuator stuck closed. Required repair appears to be complete removal and replacement of electronic throttle body assembly.

The dash panel on my 2007 Fusion suddenly lit up - oil light, air bag light, etc. - and after stopping the car it would not start again. The battery cables (especially the positive one) were highly corroded. After removing the corrosion and replacing the battery it started. Five weeks later it failed to start again. Both times the radio and lights worked but the car would not start. I tried jumping it off, but it did not even try to turn over. Had it towed to the dealership and they said the battery cables and 20 feet of cable wire were completely corroded and would have to be replaced. The car has fewer than 48,000 miles on it. I do not live in a high salt area either. Apparently this is not under warranty either. I believe that substandard equipment was used and that there should be a notice sent out to other Fusion owners to take any precautionary steps to avoid this – if there are any. Ultimately, I think Ford should cover this repair. It is clearly due to shoddy cables and wiring.

The 2007 Ford Fusion developed erratic electrical power and starting failure. Dealership found that the battery cables had essentially disintegrated from battery posts along considerable length of the cables, also destroying the battery with excessive corrosion and splitting the plastic cable sheaths. Vehicle was only 2 years old but had 42,000 mi. A quick internet search immediately found 3 other 2006-2007 Fusions with same occurrence, all just slightly over the 36,000mi warranty and not covered. Ford has not issued a TSB, has not volunteered to cover any of the $428 cost. This is a clear quality control product failure, unacceptable on any 2-yr-old vehicle, and could have resulted in a fire or stranding situation.
