Complete loss of power steering. Service advancetrac light on hill assist not available 2016 Fusion but is not included in the recall. Car was sold to me and is registered in pennsylvania, the salt belt. Ran scanner got codes u0240 and c102d. Clear codes, immediately get power steering back. Slowly lose power steering again, until complete failure. Super unsafe, first time this happened I was on the turnpike with my son. Speed limit is 70 m. P. H. I had to go 40 with my 4 ways on. Barely had control of my car. Very scary.

My 2015 Ford Fusion back over prevention camera system, is no longer working. I only get the black screen with error message "camera is unavailable. Contact dealership". Which is creating a safety issue, while the vehicle is backing up. Reference recall number 25sa9 as many other Ford products have the same issue. Many 2015 Ford models are covered under this recall. However, my Fusion is not, because the recall only states 2016. My camera was troubleshot by a certified mechanic and was deemed a faulty camera by testing it with a different camera, and the system started working properly again.

In our 2017 Ford Fusion, the back up camera sometimes says "unavailable at this time" (or something close to that) when put in reverse. It is available for inspection upon request. Safety is put at risk for multiple parties - the driver/owner, individual(s)/property behind the vehicle, insurance companies, and potentially others as the total view between mirrors and the backup camera is compromised. The vehicle has not been taken to a dealership as it is out of warranty. I see where Ford has a recall on some of these, so I checked both NHTSA and Ford websites, and it says this vehicle is ineligible for repair. However, we are experiencing this problem from time to time, most recently 2 days ago when our 16 year old was driving it. He called to let us know what the camera was doing. I believe having a safety device glitching is unnacceptable, and I would like to see Ford resolve this issue for not just my car but all of them having a known issue!.
I recently started to experience hard steering while in transit the power assist light came on and so does the advanced track warning light. I discovered there was a recall so I took it in to the Ford dealership, which was jc lewis Ford in savannah, georgia, but the technician told me that there were too many miles and after 150,000 miles, the recall was null and void.

The rear backup camera system on my 2016 Ford Fusion s has failed and no longer displays an image when the vehicle is placed in reverse. The screen remains completely black and does not activate. The backup camera previously worked normally before this failure. The issue appears to be related to the backup camera or associated electrical/display system, and the component should be available for inspection upon request. This malfunction creates a safety risk because the backup camera is necessary to see obstacles, pedestrians, and other vehicles behind the car. Without a functioning backup camera, rear visibility is significantly reduced, increasing the risk of a collision, especially in parking lots and residential areas. The problem occurs every time the vehicle is placed in reverse. The issue has not yet been confirmed by a dealer or independent repair facility. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the failure. The screen began failing and now remains completely black when in reverse. The exact date the issue began is unknown.
Rear camera continuously malfunctions with grainy/dark image, just completely failed with message on screen “rear camera not available”. This puts myself and the people and vehicles around me at risk of collision when parking or reversing out of a parking space. This problem is common among many Ford Fusion owners.
Unintended acceleration event. Entered vehicle, put my foot on the brake, cranked it, held in that position while seatbelting. Engine had a very loud revving sound. Within seconds vehicle moving backwards on its own. Foot still on the brake, had not touched gas pedal, had not touched gear shifter, and was still sitting straight forward with my foot on the brake and confirmed gear shifter in park. The car quickly accelerated backwards faster and brake pedal had no effect on stopping or slowing vehicle. Went approx. 30’ across parking lot and only stopped because we hit truck parked behind us. Quickly turned off engine and removed keys. Shifter still shows park. Careful driver. No history of accidents. I found there were several thousand reported events of unintended acceleration (Ford vehicles 2002 to 2010). Ford tried to explain many as driver error or floor mat touching the gas pedal. My mat was clipped down, as designed, with no all-weather mat on top of them, and my foot did not leave the brake pedal. Ai says revving as described is "classic behavior of failing electronic throttle body on 2010 Fords", "surging without touching the pedal and known defect are extremely common". Says if "worn or failing shifter linkage/bushings vibration form high revving could make it slip into reverse". Ford has a 19s54 recall for antilock brake systems (not notified), where "a normally closed valve may be stuck open, which may result in extended brake pedal travel". Ford reports on similar vehicles "lunging" was due to deposits in the throttle body. Ford has installed brake override on vehicles after 2010 but that doesn't protect people driving older vehicles. Please look at combo of factors that could cause this. Disappointed to read Ford purged customer acceleration reports prior to hold 5 yrs and an expert they provided at trial was someone sheltered from all research Ford had on this issue so he pushed "driver error" as the case. Clearly not here.

My back up camera glitches out where it works one moment and then it doesn’t an I get a message says that the back up camera doesn’t work to call dealership.
Backup camera keeps going blank with a blue screen also back up camera stays on for a few seconds while driving then the screen turns blue having to do a soft factory reset to the system. Transmission shifts prematurely or kicks down weird. Shifting from park to drive makes a klunk and clicking sound not smooth or quiet at all.
The rear camera has worked intermittently, it goes out and comes back on. It is a huge safety risk. Mg vehicle needs to be included in the recall.
Am filing this complaint regarding a serious safety defect in my 2011 Ford Fusion. The vehicle’s electric power steering (epas) intermittently fails while driving, causing the steering to become extremely heavy and sometimes lock up. The dashboard displays a “power steering assist fault” warning. Restarting the car temporarily restores steering assist, but the problem recurs. This is a direct safety hazard. Driving the vehicle in this condition is dangerous, as the steering can fail at any time, including at highway speeds. They say the vehicle was previously repaired under recall but the issue has recurred. I have contacted Ford customer service and a Ford safety supervisor multiple times, and they refused to perform any further repair, citing that the recall occurred over 10 years ago and my VIN may not be in the current “recall bin. ” I am requesting that the national highway traffic safety administration investigate this issue and require Ford to repair the electric power steering under a recall reoccurrence / safety escalation program, at no cost to me. This is a critical safety issue, and the current refusal by Ford puts me at risk of serious injury or death while driving.

I went to start my vehicle and none of the electronic instrument panels turned off. The car started but I couldn't see anything on the panel. I turned off the car, waited for a few minutes, and turned it back on. The instrument panel and other electronic screens turned on but I had 8 different lights pop back on. I had my scan tool and pulled various codes regarding the pcm and losing connection to abs, steering column, power steering, etc. I took it into my mechanic and they were not able to replicate the issue.
2020 Ford Fusion se- transmission problems. Only 98,000 miles on the car and have had issues with this transmission after a year of having it. Transmission fluid was good but there is a small leak, slipping gears, winding, and gear auto shifting back to park. No combustion or power until it hits 60 mph. Has been checked by mechanics. No lights on dash at all!.
Drove home from work 10/7/25 no issues. Parked the car no issues. Son went to leave and the car just stopped functioning. Oem issues I believe is what my son stated with the computer system. Brake is down and won’t release. Won’t start, sounds like it is even when we aren’t touching anything. Asking for goodwill / good faith extension on the recall for this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v440000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available, and the recall was put on hold. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and referred the contact to the dealer for further assistance. The contact had not experienced a failure.
I have a coolant intrusion for my car it is supposed to be recalled and serviced under warranty or the csp.
The back-up camera has been very intermittent in its operation. Most of the time, it will show up black. I pulled a code saying that there's an communication error. More recently, it has turned on but everything is inversed. When I turn right, the camera is showing it on the left-hand side of the screen.
Leaking fluids.
Going approximately 55 miles an hour on the freeway and my car starts profusely shaking. I pulled to the side of the highway tow truck comes up behind me. Ann, my cylinder 4 was noted to be misfiring. I had it towed to midas and that is where it was determined that engine coolant leaked into my cylinders and now being told that my car requires a new engine!! mind you I have already paid 5k to replace the timing chain because apparently my car skipped timing due to oil pan leak. Both of these issues are posted on TSB bulletins on the Ford website. I am not going to pay 11k for a new engine not to mention the 5k I already paid and all my other maintenance that I have paid for. Ford was deceptive knowing selling these vehicles with a qa issue! and they refuse to assist the consumer. They need to be held accountable for their negligence!!.
Seemingly randomly all center console functions and door functions shut off (no a/c / heat, can't roll down/up windows, outside ambient temp and can't unlock/lock doors from inside buttons (key still works as well as door handle unlock / speed lock) can be hazardous in even mild temp as interior heats up quickly without air flow. Other non-important functions that stop working include radio/stereo and back-up camera. Research points possibly to bcm apim miscommunication or improper grounding.
1. After vehicle is given gas it won’t crank. 2. Tire sensors won’t turn off. Even with brand new tires and mounts. 3. Random electrical malfunctions. (flickering dash lights, delayed engine start after turning the key, light bouncing back and forth between gears, etc. ).

First, we will start with every time I turn my car to the left the steering wheel box and the brakes skid then the abs sensor comes on then we will start with the car every time I put it into a gear. It automatically goes back to park, and I cannot move the car in any direction. When the issue first started, I could reverse then when I put the car and drive in the middle of the street it would automatically go back to park which could cause a crash I only have video proof of this.
I have a 2019 Ford Fusion turbo engine and everytime I accelerate the turbo is wicking into the pcm the control module which is causing hazards sucking as at random times whenever I turn left the steering wheel with get stuck and the brakes will lock for a couple seconds and then go back to normal. I had meineke do a diagnostic on the car and they showed oil in the pcm aswell as the loss of connection between the pcm and its sensors. They drove the car and while driving the car going 20mph the car is reading as going 100.

Unknown and it's whole electrical system is failing and constantly keeps shutting the car off saying no key detected and strands me more places than I can count it's stalled out in the middle of the road and said no key detected and I had to wait for it to basically let me start the car back up after like being shut off for 20 mins or if I unhooked the battery and hooked it back up then it would start and only go for a day or so and the heat only works if it's raining outside.
My complaint is, why does my 2016 Ford Fusion 1. 5l 4-cylinder ecoboost engine continue to be excluded from these major recalls? it's not fair as I deserve to have my engine, clock spring, & my rear view camera replaced just like the other Ford vehicles! I purchased my 2016 Fusion in 2018 & only a couple of years later I started having problems with the rear view camera but the dealership said that it wasn't covered under the warranty. I have always smelled engine coolant & oil but was always told that there is nothing leaking on the ground so there's nothing to worry about. Also I reached out to you guys in 2024 with the gmail address of [xxx] ) about my steering wheel clock spring & never heard anything back, so I purchased a new one on [xxx] & replaced it myself when it arrived. Also earlier that day, I had my valve cover replaced at brad howell Ford in kokomo, in because I have been constantly losing oil & smelling oil burning. Even after that, I continued to smell oil & engine coolant but still get told that there's nothing leaking. Well my next oil change after that, I told them to check again because I had to add more oil, & that's when they determined that it was the turbo drain tube, which they replaced on Nov. 5, 2024. That stopped the oil smell, but I continued to smell engine coolant which I continued to report to them, & at each oil change, they continued to top off the engine coolant. On Aug. 12, 2025 brad howell Ford decided to run a camera down into my cylinders & discovered that there's oil & coolant leaking down into my #2 cylinder. I contacted tonia frataccia, customer experience specialist, Ford cx/team, & I was told that my VIN# didn't make the recall list & that's why my engine wasn't replaced. It's not fair as my vehicle has the same defective engine & parts as the other recall vehicles & I deserve to have my car repaired also at Fords expense. Please help me, I need my car. Thank you for listening. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
2016 Ford Fusion titanium back up camera works intermittently. The viewing screen goes blank when in reverse.
2016 Ford Fusion titanium rear camera works intermittently. Sometime when in reverse, the screen goes blank.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the apim (accessory protocol interface module) appears to have failed. The vehicle's infotainment/play screen is completely blank and unresponsive. This module controls key systems including climate control, navigation, hands-free calling, and the backup camera. The component is available for inspection if needed. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? this failure compromises several safety-critical functions. I am unable to adjust climate settings, use gps navigation, make hands-free emergency calls, or see through the backup camera. These features are essential for safe driving, especially in adverse weather or while reversing. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? not yet confirmed by a dealer, but the issue has been consistent. I have attempted both soft and hard resets, and verified the fuses are good. All symptoms point to an apim failure. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no formal inspection has been done by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? there were no warning lamps or messages. The issue started intermittently about two months ago. Resets worked temporarily, but the screen is now completely unresponsive.

See attached document for complaint. Text from attached document: despite completing the interim repair, the vehicle still cannot charge, and my repeated inquiries, including under case number cxh-05041947-l 1v3x6, have been met with vague promises of replacement batteries being available "next quarter" with no resolution in sight. Furthermore, I learned on July 23, 2025, that Ford offered a buy-back program for affected vehicles that ended on July 1, 2025, which I was never informed about.
