Was driving at about 45mph on us highway 331 in freeport, FL on 9/17/25 and there was a lower control arm failure on the front passenger side of vehicle. Caused the vehicled to be inoperable. I was able to have someone pull me out of the way to not impeded trafic with the car in neutral but was unable to do much with it. It was late at night so I was unable to really access the damage. My wife had our insurance tow the vehicle to my home a few hours ago on 9/18/25 and it appears the lower control arm is gone, the axle has detatched from the wheel (axle still hanging from bottom of car), pretty bad damage to the inner wheel well, passenger fender, and minor damage to the front bumper and passenger side skirt. I had read there was a recall on this vehicle online and wanted to find out more about my options. The car has just shy of 100k miles and is a daily driver. So I am stuck in a bad potisition with this.

The vehicle wheels and steering wheel bounce and shake when brakes are applied, regardless of the speed level; this felt like I am losing control of the vehicle and as if the wheels, and components of suspension or brake system will collapse all of the sudden. No warning lights came up in the dashboard. The vehicle was inspected by the dealership (kearny mesa Ford service, 7303 clairemont mesa blvd, san diego, CA 92111) and they confirmed the problem, the problem still persisted after they performed checks and repairs, their response was "we are not sure what's causing the problem and we need more time to diagnose. ".

Vehicle make/model/year: Ford Fusion, 20xx (replace with your year) component affected: suspension – lower control arm bushing or mount summary of the problem: I am reporting a recurring and well-known issue with the lower control arm bushings on Ford Fusion models from 2013 and newer. In my case, the bushing wore prematurely, causing a clunking or cranking noise when turning, especially at low speeds. The bushing or bolt appears to shift even when torqued properly. This problem has been acknowledged by many other owners as well. Safety risk: this affects the vehicle’s handling and stability. It can cause loose steering, misalignment, premature tire wear, and could result in suspension failure while driving. This poses a real safety concern, especially during cornering or evasive maneuvers. Repair history: this issue is so common that owners often have to replace the bushings or the full control arm multiple times. Even after replacement, the problem can come back, suggesting a design flaw. Community evidence: there are many online complaints and forum threads about the same issue in Ford Fusions from 2013–2020. This appears to be a widespread defect that has not been formally acknowledged by the manufacturer. Request for action: I’m asking NHTSA to investigate this recurring suspension issue and determine if a safety recall is warranted. This is a design defect that affects vehicle safety and should be addressed by Ford.

At approximately 99,900 miles, my 2020 Ford Fusion began experiencing serious transmission issues, including rough shifting, hesitation, jerking, and difficulty accelerating, especially at low speeds or while merging onto highways. These symptoms created an unsafe driving situation, particularly in traffic and intersections. I took the vehicle to multiple repair shops to have the issue diagnosed. This process caused my mileage to go slightly over the 100,000-mile recall coverage limit for transmission repair assistance, but I have full documentation showing that the transmission problem clearly began while the vehicle was still under the limit. I later discovered that Ford had issued a recall or customer satisfaction program (csp) related to known transmission issues on this model. The csp is 22n12, however, I never received any notice from Ford by mail, phone, or email about this recall or warranty extension. I was unaware it existed until after my car began to fail. Despite being under the recall threshold when the issue began, and having proof, Ford has so far refused to fully cover the cost of the repair, only offering partial assistance due to the slight overage in mileage. This is a serious safety defect. My vehicle hesitates or fails to shift properly at critical times, putting myself and others at risk of collision. I was not informed of the recall, and now I'm being financially penalized for Ford’s delay and lack of notification. I cannot afford this out-of-pocket expense, and I believe it is unfair and unreasonable to place this burden on consumers, especially when safety is involved. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this matter and urge Ford to take full financial responsibility for the recall repair. This defect is not due to misuse or wear-and-tear, but is acknowledged by Ford as a manufacturer issue I have an open case with Ford corporate in which they have failed to get back to me about the issue. Case number ([xxx]) information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (.
Absolute unacceptable level of rust to the body and frame. Even with regular car washes, sitting for a year covered. It’s literally totalled and I am out of a car. It’s a 2012 with this amount of rust.

The manufacturer is using the wrong material for the parts on my car. Currently, the right-side lower control bushing is bulging out because a steel bushing was used instead of the aluminum one specified on the website. This issue is causing my car to pull to the right, making steering difficult. I've also experienced the same problem on the left side in the past. I request a recall to fix this and ensure the safety of all drivers on the road.
Power steering rack and pinion.
Was driving down a busy road with my [xxx] and [xxx] , when all of a sudden my steering wheel got super tight and the car shut down. A message stating "power steering assist fault" popped up on my dashboard. There was zero warning before it happened. I just bought this car 3 months ago from a facebook marketplace car dealer. When this incident happened 2 weeks ago, I googled 2011 Ford Fusion recalls and it says NHTSA recalled in 2015. When I'm not understanding is why a VIN number makes a difference, when I'm having the problem on the type of year/model that was recalled. I have been informed about the customer satisfaction program, which expired years before I purchased the vehicle. Again, why should that fall on me? thanks information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I was driving to my drs appointment and as I was pulling up to the hospital I saw a message from my dash and my steering wheel locked up and I had to get it towed and then sent to the dealership but since I had made a few of previous attempts to get it fixed with u guys it wasn’t getting no response, so I had to go get it fixed force and I ended up with a bill. .
The driver power steering system message goes on every so often and I have to turn off and on to reset the light, but my concern is that it’s going to go off as I’m driving, and the fuel mileage as I’m driving it says mileage to empty and one time I was trying to get to the gas station and it hit 0 and it was still going the car, and the suspension makes noise when I go over the bumps and also when I’m reversing and turning the wheel there’s a popping sound from the front it sounds like,.
My 15 year old permit driver was driving the car and a power steering message flashed. The car became very difficult to steer and very difficult to pull to the side of the road. This could have caused a major accident. I was told when I called there was a recall for this in the past but had been fixed on this particular car. It must not have been fixed well. The car is not technically high mileage by today’s standards.
The power steering system is currently non-functional, resulting in significant difficulty in maneuvering the vehicle, particularly at low speeds. This poses a substantial safety risk not only to myself and my loved ones but also to other motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and their pets. I am deeply concerned about the well-being of all individuals involved. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I have reached out to the dealership regarding the car's issues, providing them with the necessary information and VIN number. However, they have informed me that the repairs are not covered. Despite highlighting the safety implications of the problem, their response lacked concern or interest. It is worth noting that numerous online sources indicate that 2010 to 2012 Ford Fusions should undergo repairs and reprogramming as part of safety recalls. The dashboard warning light specifically indicates a need for steering service, yet Ford motor company has failed to take responsibility and address this widespread safety issue. This situation exemplifies the lack of priority Ford places on their customers' safety.
The potholes on the highway caused my tie rods and tires to explode!.

This is an open recall that I'm sure has been stated many times, but the dealerships are not accepting the recall or granting it. The power steering aka. Steering assist system failed. Which is an ongoing issue with my vehicle model and year. It has caused me so many "almost" bad accidents and making it so I have lost an incredible amount of income due to my vehicle being down for repair and unsafe to drive and too expensive to fix. Especially when there is a recall about said thing. I need help.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph, the tire went flat on the front passenger's side, and the tire pressure warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken into a parking lot where a spare tire was installed on the vehicle, and it was taken back to the contact's residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing a new ball joint and a lower control arm. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

I want to file a safety complaint against Ford car company for their vehicle in which I purchased which is a 2008 Ford Fusion sel for excessive and dangerous rot and rust problem on the frame and suspension and under component which can lead to accidents if one of these components fall apart . I purchased a 2008 Ford Fusion sel in connecticut which used to be a massachusetts state government vehicle before I've obtained it. It was well maintenance and had no flood damage. But just like a wide range of cars from Ford especially this model that I've purchased has a serious problem with excessive rust which make the car very dangerous to drive. Mind's speaking I've had to have framework done to my vehicle and change multiple suspension parts because of all the rust my transmission pan literally fell apart and all the oil came because it was so rusted. My stabilizer links and control arms have fell apart in which obstructs the steering which also caused a safety hazard for me and other people on the road. Ford has a duty to design their cars with a certain level of weather resistance. After doing research I found that there is a wide range of customers who's having the same having the same problems with this year make and model just like other vehicles that are made by Ford. All the problems that stated in this complaint having verified by ase certified mechanics that I've been working on my vehicle.

While shopping for Ford Fusion hybrids, I notice they all displayed abnormal tire wear, specifically on the inside edge of the rear tires. After purchasing a 2017 Fusion hybrid I have seen a significant tire wear issue on the rear inside edge of my tires causing premature tire replacement. I have had the wheel alignment checked and was told it was good. This seems to be an issue with this model. For someone that does not inspect or maintain tires this could lead to a tire blow out at speed. I have had put 3 sets of tires on the vehicle over the last 3 years.

Pulled out of a side street taylor onto a main highway 39 beach blvd and car jolted and didn’t have much go. Seemed sluggish. Transmission mount bolt had snapped off and I could have been in a major accident because I had oncoming traffic coming at me when I merged into the street and lost power because of the incident.
I was driving on the freeway yesterday, about 70mph driving conditions were good, it was sunny and warm, and traffic was flowing regularly, and I felt as thought something gave way or loosened up because the car and steering ability were not in synch. I was then approaching a congested area and needed to slow down but the brakes did not brake as fast as they should of and I almost smashed right into the car in front of me. There felt like a disconnection between the brakes, the steering, and the entire car. I have keep my care well maintained and do not miss my regular maintenance appointments. I just had it smogged, with a change of oil and 80k inspection. The tires were checked and everything was ok. There were no indicator lights or alerts however, I do have a light that will not shut off and I was told subject to a recall. It's the front fog lights? or running lights? its the front lights not head lights but the ones the side. That light doesn't impact my driving ability. This is a very unsafe and frightening experience and I would like it investigated before someone really gets hurt.

Car started getting warning that says service advancetrac. Hill assistance not available. It started around March 15th. The lights of the abs and 2 others come on and then off. I would come into my car and the floor mat on the driver side would be wet no rain or anything outside. Yesterday, brake fluid light came on and breaks went completely out. I have a recall on my vehicle that I’m pretty sure relates to this issue. I’m looking to get repaired.
Steering failed rack and pinion.
While driving my vehicle into the garage, I placed the car into the p(park) gear and the car continued to roll. I had to hit the emergency break to stop the vehicle. The fuel line keeps cracking although it has been replaced multiple times causing gas to be leaking from the vehicle even after filling the car up.

While driving on a level flat road at approximately 25 mph, the front right lower a frame assembly snapped and caused the front suspension to drop and the resulting drop caused the front tire to be ripped from its rim. As a result, I briefly lost control and crashed into a parked vehicle. Had this occurred at a higher speed the result would have been disastrous! the lower a-frame is a thick cast aluminum structure that is approx 11/2" thick where it cracked apart.
While driving the the lights and sound came on with service advance trac and hill start assist not available. Then the check engine light comes on flash and I can’t accelerate next it drags no pickup of speed. I took it back to the dealership after I got a recall done and these lights came on but they couldn’t find anything wrong to repair my car sat for days with no loaner or call back I’m still paying for this car monthly. I felt something moving as I tried to press on the gas pedal. Please assist.
My transmission has start to work weirdly. My car started vibrating when I am driving slow. When move to second gear suddenly the car make stop and move again.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the shifter cable bushing was faulty and needed to be replaced. The shifter cable bushing was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. Additionally, while operating the vehicle, the steering wheel abruptly jerked to the left. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who determined that the front ball joints were faulty and needed to be replaced. No further information was available. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
When I turn right my vehicle made this ugly noise kind of like metal grinding and then it started kind of jerking my gear started switching and buying themselves it turned into neutral and then a warning sign came on and said transmission not in part stop vehicle safely now as I kept driving I stopped the vehicle turn it back on road home and kind of let the car just roll home I turned right again and the vehicle did the same thing but it was even worse it was making this ugly noise it started leaking transmission oil my battery ended up dying the gears it were just kind of like moving by themselves there's just weird like I don't know if it was recharging or what it was doing but my car was just going all kinds of haywire it's at the Ford dealership now at southway Ford that has been there for about 3 weeks I've asked them if they can do a diagnostic test on it they send my car still in line I've asked him if they can do recalls they said there's no recalls on my car so if someone can please give me a little leah a little advice here and help me figure out what exactly is going on with my car I am out of I've been without a vehicle I'm trying to get a rental car at least I was told to maybe have my car towed to a different dealership and see if they can expedite the test or whatever right now my car is not running it is at the dealership and I have no information as far as what exactly is wrong with my car all I know is my car kept saying transmission not in park stop safely now and then the once the battery died it never turned back on again so what should I do.
I have owned car for almost 4 + years I was roughly at 128,000 when I purchase I gave 159,xxx miles on now. In the past 4 years tires replaced 2 times. I keep having issues with tires needing plugged in front. My brakes have been replaced 3 times rotors 2 times plus struts ball joints tie rod u name it repaired suspension system sucks. I’m sick of having same issues repair. I have thousands of dollars front suspension then always have to fix tires stop for air replace. Ridiculous. Everything has gone wrong with the suspension system. Shocks bad ball bearings. The premium aluminum rims eroding away. I think that is what cause tire issues non stop I’m sick of getting air!!! I can’t afford to keep repairing the steering has became awful pulls yes I’ve had alignments it’s all over the place feels loose makes all kinds of banging clunking noises the wheel locked up had smoke rolling out from front driver side. Smelled terrible car shaking all over around 45 mph . I have more in the front than car is worth transmission jumps all over or jerks hard into drive or reverse I had look at and repaired once all ready door handles in side don’t work!! check engine light always on the cap less fuel area is junk the ring came off. When pumping gas it doesn’t stop it now. So gas is usually on ground running down car side headlight are always getting loose knocking out my headlights. For only have 30,000 from buying it I have spent as much buying the car the equals the cars repairs almost. Chunks of paint in front falls off below grille brakes/steering have defaulted and I have slid across intersection in winter I could have been seriously injuried and of course anothe tire issue today I want my money back and the repair money!!! paid 7,000 put $ into all the time invested roughly 12,000 all together for same damn issues. Car value 3,000 wtf. Make it right Ford!!!! yr cars are junk on certain models recalls never knew they better be getting fix for free.
Tie rods, outter and inner tie rod threads where stripped from Ford motor CO. Causing complete loss of steering while operating the vehicle. Tie rod separated with out warning while operating the vehicle nearly causing a accident at speeds of 55mph+.
I went to have my car inspected and it passed but they gave me a form with 4 recalls I need to have repaired at no charge ASAP please.
Shift linkage keep detaching from the the transmission causing the transmission too slip. It detaches often it’s been going on for 2 months now. I called Ford dealership to see have they heard of this problem and they answer was no. It might be a recall on this vehicle.
Steering feels like it's really lose and goes all over the road tires are bouncy while driving it pops back also while changing gears.
