When driving down the highway during afternoon rush hour, my car began to accelerate at high rate (stuck at 4000-5000 rpm) causing me to speed down the highway with very little ability to stop as I hit the brakes but could not overcome the acceleration. Thinking as quickly as I could, I threw it into neutral to bring the car to a crawl and slowly roll to the next exit and then to a stop. I was lucky to think so quickly because otherwise I could have run into the cars in front of me as the car sped down the highway with no ability to stop. I fear for others that may have this problem because if there was a stop ahead, it could easily end in loss of life. Once safely on the side of the road, I attempted to restart the car, only to have it rocco tongue to rev. After taking it to a Ford dealership, I was told that my throttle electronics had malfunctioned causing the throttle to get stuck open. This is an extremely dangerous problem. Ford's handling of it, which was to say that they couldn't do anything about it is unacceptable.

Engine stalled while driving several times (once on a city street and twice on the highway). On other occasions the car would hesitate to respond to the accelerator. Mechanic scanned the computer and found code p2111 throttle actuator control system stuck open, and determined the cause of the problem to be the throttle body.
On Dec 15 2016 approximately 8:15 p. M I went to the 711 a minute up the road from my house. As I was leaving the store to get on double creek dr to come back home I was entering the street to get in the far left turning lane to make a u turn at the light to go back to my house . I was slowly come out of the drive way of 711 picked up speed abou 15 -20 mph . When suddenly the gas throttle started picking up speed . I was headed straight for the red light the gas peddle quickly picked up speed . There was traffic that had a green light going horizontally, I tried everything to try and stop my vehicle . In order to avoid getting t boned I turned my out of control car from the throttle being stuck to the far right scared for my life . There was a vehicle turning left and I hit the driver side of vehicle all the way down the side . When that happened . I was able to brake slow down the car and pull into the store. With in a few minutes the police officers were there . There was damage to both our vehicles . My Mustang will be totaled . The other gentleman took off in an ambulance . This is a huge problem thank god nobody was killed. The insurance company has the car and we are going to request and ask that Ford do a data down load or insurance company . So far Ford does not want to do anything about this matter . We opened up a case with Ford and was quickly blew off. I am not blowing this off in the name of jesus and a child of god . I was protected from something that could of been death. My children have been in this car over the last few years and this could of happened at any time of me going faster speeds like on the freeway. Ford needs to take responsibility for this and I'm not stoping till they take responsibility , before somebody is killed .

Immediate loss of power and complete loss of acceleration. This has occurred in an intersection and in the middle of a multi-lane highway at 35 mph and 60 mph and when either accelerating or holding at a steady speed. The wrench light comes on and the vehicle immediately loses power and decelerates regardless of speed. The vehicle is inoperable until it is turned off and restarted. The problem is recurring and unpredictable. Because the code disappears upon restarting it cannot be diagnosed. I had to get a code reader to get the code which had to be used after an emergency stop along the highway. This is dangerous as there is no warning before the loss of power. Error code p2111-throttle actuator control system stuck open. The problem has occurred 10/29/15, 11/16/15, 11/25/15, and 11/30/15.
Car randomly goes into "limp home" mode. Code could not be caught by dealer so I purchased a scanner. Code caught everytime is p2111 representing that the throttle body actuator is stuck open. This can happen within a few miles of driving or up to 20 miles. It can happen at 5 mph or 65 mph. It can happen within the first few minutes of a trip or 30 minutes in. It can happen once or every few minutes. This is very dangerous as the limp home does not get enough power to get off road. I almost caused a multi car accident . Can you imagine driving down the highway and the car just stops? it doesn't even coast. I see this complaint on alot of Ford forums. It is like Ford is just waiting for someone to be killed or sue them before they solve the issue. I have taken it to the Ford dealer and they say it is my battery. I went to an independent source and they tested my battery and I had known, the battery is fine. I have been into Ford service numerous times and when I return they do everthing but fix the issue. The date below is the 1st time experienced. It didn't happen often but this year is everytime I drive.
Driving my 2008 Ford Mustang gt home from work when the throttle got stuck wide open I placed on my weight on the brake and it did nothing I then threw it into park and the car red lined at 8000+ rpms I hit the person in front of me and a parked car on the side of the road I turned off the car and restarted it car revved out again did it again everything went back to normal.
On Monday February 24 2014 at around 12:45pm, I was on my way home from work. I was sitting in my 2006 Ford Mustang gt in bumper to bumper traffic due to construction on the grand central parkway(queens NY) heading towards the van wyck expressway(east to brooklyn NY). As traffic started to move up slowly, I had pressed on the gas pedal to move forward and without hesitation the car jumps from 7 mph to full throttle. Even when I had applied the brakes ( I felt the brakes on the rotors but it didn't stop) the vehicle had stayed stuck on full throttle and had struck the vehicle in front of me. It bounced off the 1st vehicle and it was at this point I had placed both feet on the brakes, to the point where I was standing on them with my head hitting the roof of the car. The car proceeded on (still in full throttle and brakes applied) and smashed in between two other vehicles further up and after that collision thats when the car finally had came to a stop. I never heard or seen any vehicle take off on its own like that. Two days after the accident I had asked around on facebook on several Mustang enthusiast/club pages and no one has heard of this happening. A week later my insurance company totaled out my vehicle and left me with no car and now I'm left to pay $3000 dollars difference on my loan and $500 to my insurance company. I also asked on Ford's facebook page and I was given a number from a customer relations representative. I had called Ford and they said they never heard of this and "what will I like to do with this?". A friend of mine told me about car complaints. Com and I came across more than 20 complaints for the same problem. I also was told recently to check this website to file a complaint. I loved that car and that whole situation left me depressed and frustrated.

My daughter's 2012 Mustang would loose power at around 40 mph when accelerating. The engine light would light up and the car would idle very rough when car was stopped. Problem was diagnosed as a throttle being stuck open and the throttle housing was replaced which solved the problem.

Maneuvering through traffic, went to shift into 2nd (std) and the throttle stuck wide open red lined. I quickly pushed in the clutch and shut it down. Tried to restart it as I was coasting, and when it started back up, the motor was still racing, push in clutch, shut it down. Coast into a nearby parking lot ,freaking out!! started it back up perfectly normal. Two days later same thing , attempt to shift into 2nd , motor redlines! I push the clutch ,shut it down ,and again it starts up, perfectly normal. Scary!! thankfully I have quick reaction. This is a dangerous situation for those with automatic transmissions and not so quick reactions. Come to find out there are thousands of consumers with the exact same circumstance. What is being done about this? does it take someone to die before Ford is held accountable?.

The contact owns a 2006 Ford Mustang. While driving approximately 55 mph, the throttle became stuck and the vehicle increased acceleration abnormally. The vehicle began to travel uncontrollably through three traffic signals. The emergency brake was engaged and the contact then crashed into a tree. The contact and a passenger were able to exit the vehicle but were both severely injured. The vehicle then ignited into flames. The fire department extinguished the fire and informed the contact that the fire originated from the engine compartment. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a salvage facility. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 36,900.
I have an 07 Ford Mustang gt. It has a little over 18000 miles on it and the throttle has stuck several times. I press the brake and reach down and pull up the pedal. The dealer first tried to tell me it was the floor mat. It is not, the floor mat does not come into contact with the pedal. Through a bbb arbitration Ford was told to replace the vehicle. The second vehicle does the same thing. When pressed to the floor the pedal sticks and the car continues to accelerate. It is an intermittent problem that the dealer cannot replicate, so they cannot fix it. I have been blessed with fast reflexes and short legs so I can hold the brake on and pull up the gas pedal while keeping control of the car. The dealer service department has given up trying to repair it. The warranty has expired. The problem still remains.
The consumer states throttle got stuck with the brake on. The vehicle sped up real fast;. The consumer turned the vehicle off. He then pulled the vehicle over to the center lane and started the car again. This happened on July 8, 2005, it has not happened since. The vehicle was taken to the dealership, but they could not duplicate the problem.
Throttle stuck wide open. Brakes failed to stop. Turned off key. Engine now surges above 4,000 rpm. Rental car: budget burbank, car # buraa67 82883. Towed to rental agency and exchanged. Car # 854726. Budget to tow to Ford dealer for repairs.
