Other Fuel System Problems of Ford Mustang - part 2

Noticed a fuel vapor odor for a couple of weeks. After filling the fuel tank the odor intensified. Drove the vehicle about 20 miles to my house. I could smell fuel when I exited the vehicle and noticed fuel leaking from the fuel tank. Took vehicle to the dealership, and when the tank was removed found the fitting for the evaporative system connection cracked. (see photos) there is no apparent impact that would have caused the crack.

Powertrain - the transmission when coming to a stop lurches the vehicle forward. Along with the lurching forward when slowing down it makes a loud clunk noise and makes the car and my person move forward. Propulsion - when turning into traffic the car sometimes has no power and takes about 3 seconds to get power back to the vehicle, almost causing accident.

The gas tank was only getting 10 gallons of gas and not 16 gallons like it was suppose to. We ended up running out of gas on a road trip with our two young daughters in the middle of the night on I-75. The gas tank said you had 100 miles to go before empty and then 3 miles later it would drop to 0 and you were running out of gas. This car was used in street racing which was late devulged to us after we found out that at 20,000 miles a whole new engine was put in without our knowledge when we purchased the vehicle . We took it to the dealer and they put a new fuel assembly unit in it. It fixed the problem a little but never fully. Now, 2 days ago my husband with my youngest daughter ran out of gas again on us-19 and I had to leave work to go get them and gas. Next on the 57 things wrong with this car… 5 days after purchase it had 22 engine warning. Took it back and they replaced the 4th coil and the 4th injector and spark plug. About 3 days later my husband came flying into his work, ran by me grabbing a fire extinguisher and ran to the car and started shooting it at the car, the car had caught on fire and the 4th injector was spewing gas. They had pinched an oring while installing the injector and never put the clips back on the injector rail to keep them in place. My husband could have been killed easily. The dealership never took ownership for it and blamed it on the dealership that sold us this the car. Every time we turn around it’s something else. The month of December we only had the car 6 days. It was in the shop 3 different. Times and everytime we got it back it wasn’t fixed. We bought this car in September and it had had 52 engine lights, over 10,000 in parts and labor to fix. Four rentals cars a new battery list goes on. We have tried numerous times to ask the dealership to make this right and their answer is for us to sell them the car back less our 20,000 deposit and buy a whole new car from them. That’s the solution we were given.

Leaking fumes from plastic fuel tank. Micro cracks on top and seam. Had to replace the fuel tank and the sender and fuel pump inserts because of cracks.

There is a recall for fuel odor on build dates 9/14-10/14 due to a failed fuel line sensor. My vehicle has a build date of 8/14 and is experiencing the same issue but not covered under the recall, which is a heavy fuel odor after putting gas in. Any amount of fuel put in has a severe odor, it doesn't have to be filled.

When making a left turn the entire car turns off when using the car all day on hot days.

Intermittent loss of throttle with wrench light. Engine goes into derate, have to shut off car, let sit for 3-5 minutes, restart then ok until it occurs again. Loss of throttle at any time is unsafe. Two Ford dealers have tried to repair with no luck. They have replaced the throttle pedal assembly, the throttle body, and now the pcm. Problem is still present. Have an ongoing Ford customer service case #cas44568044-d6g8f8. Still awaiting resolution. Vehicle is still under 3/36 base warranty. Problem has been ongoing for a little over a year now.

While driving home just as I was switching lanes, the car sputtered badly and a wrench light appeared on dash. Since then, the car did not exceed 20 miles per hour. As I conducted research, a lot of Mustangs have this issue and it is theorized to be the throttle body.

Driving at posted speed, went to pass a vehicle and the accelerator stuck in full open (down) position. Car lurched forward and luckly I was able to put it on neutral, pull over and manually un-stick the accelerator pedal.

Canister purge valve malfunction stuck in an open position. If this occurs, an excessive vacuum in the fuel system could cause deformation of the vehicle’s plastic fuel tank. Indicator light check engine with fluctuating or inaccurate fuel levels. This could lead to a stall while driving and/or an inability to restart the vehicle, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Few months ago, suddendly I got a bad gasoline smell coming from the aft of the car. The smell is strong when I refill the tank. Brought the car to Ford service, they found a very small crack on top of the tank. I'm very surprised how a 5 years car got this kind of safety issue, Ford wants charge me 2000$ to fix it. Fyi: I'm not been caught in any kind of accident.

Drove car 600 miles then there was no coolant in the vehicle. Car gas hand says car was half way full after I filled the car up. It will give the wrong reading then once you start driving it will reset. Air conditioning will not work got half way down the highway across country and the air conditioning stop work for 2 hours. Then it will only work on low until I turned off and on a couple times then it started blowing air. Remote start - cold start will not start sometimes or take a couple of times to start the vehicle and you have to be directly in front of the vehicle it will lock and open from your home but you have to walk directly in front of the vehicle for it to start.

I have had my 2016 Mustang for 5 years already with 29k miles , my warrantee has expired. I recently notice I had check engine light for p0456 evaporative emission leak. I took the car to get smoke test by my local shop mechanic and it came that there fuel vapor coming out of capless filler neck,since every Ford model after 2013 don't have gas cap nomore I would have to replace the whole gas filler pipe which is around $500 for part and labor. In other cars you can just change gas cap for 20$ buh since in my case my car doesn't have gas cap I would have to replace the whole gas pipe filler and Ford doesnt offer any gas cap for my car. I feel like if I do change my gas filler pipe , mabey couple years from now it's gona start giving same check engine problem. I also feel safety concern I do live in arizona where gets really hot and with fuel vapor coming out capless filler it might cost a fire. I have 3year daughter that likes to ride in my Mustang but I don't let her intill this gets fix I don't want her smelling gas . Im hoping with this recall Ford can fix the issue and work on better design and or make a gas cap to fix evap leak without having to spend hundreds of dollards. Thank you.

Fuel line. There is a sensor that comes on when you put fuel in the vehicle. I think it has to do with the vapor line from past Ford recalls on Mustangs.

I was driving my 2015 twin eco-boost car on a city street,when I I heard something under hood. And right at that moment smoke was rolling out from under the hood. When I stopped and got out,thats when a witness told me she saw flames coming out from under the car it melted everything under the hood. Every wire was exsposed. I am waiting for report from fire department. I do have a picture of it. Fire chief said battery exploded.

While idling my car suddenly had cylinder #3 misfire and the spark plug blow out of the cylinder head.

I was parked when I turn on the car and saw the engine light came up. The car is about 68000 miles and it's having a higher gas consumption and the engine light code � p0456� evaporative emission system leak. And passenger from seat belt broke. The part that holds the seat belt in place.

Every time after I put gas in the car, it struggles to start but the good news is that the check engine light is not on and never turned on. My car has 57600 miles on it and I do regular on time oil changes and full inspections at the Ford dealership . I have ran my VIN for the recall but my car does not meet the qualifications . My digital dashboard has not been working for a year now, it’s a black screen. I am also having problems with my fuel pump. I can’t fill my car all the way up with gas or else my car will not start.

Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that when his daughter would drive the vehicle at various speeds, she could smell a burning rubber odor emitting from the vehicle. While the contact's daughter was driving at 50 mph, she noticed white smoke coming from the engine without warning. The contact immediately pulled over the vehicle and called her father. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who discovered that the valve cover gasket had caused oil to spill over the manifold. The contact then called angela krause Ford(1575 mansell rd, alpharetta, GA 30009) where they informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle and referred him to the manufacturer. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and informed him that the dealer would have to perform a diagnostic to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer stated that they may offer financial assistance if the failure was determined to be linked to NHTSA campaign number: 14v774000(fuel system, gasoline); which did not include his vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 56,000.

The fuel tanked cracked. It was no longer able to hold vacuum. The engine light came on and stayed on. The 2. 3l Mustang had a similar issue due to heat. It was inspected and fix at a local repair shop.

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the fuel indicator lamp had been illuminated for two weeks. The vehicle started to loose acceleration. The contact had researched on line and came across a technical service bulletin 10019387 ( fuel system gasoline ), that described what happen when the vehicle failed. The contact also mentioned that the park brake cable freezing rear brakes dragging, this time the vehicle was taken to the dealer ( three times ) miracle Ford, 1394 nashville pke, gallatin, TN 37066 for repairs and one time to another dealer town and country Ford, 101 andersoin lane madison TN, 37115 for repairs on the brakes also. . The vehicle was not taken to the dealer ( this last time ) or an independent mechanic for a diagnostic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired the approximate failure mileage was 174,000. Bp.

Sometimes loses power driving down the road.

2016 Ford Mustang with 2. 3l engine with automatic transmission. Engine stalls while coming to a stop at a stoplight and does not restart making the vehicle inoperable in the middle of the road.

Driving (in motion)at a high or low speed the check engine light came on immediately change the speed of the vehicle stalling which could've cause me my life and innocent other driver their life with the vehicle stalling as soon as the check engine light came on 270 highway in maryland. I tried to drive on the street to park my vehicle during a slowing speed this problem happened again that a vehicle almosted rear end my vehicle due to the sudden stop and stalling . I purchased this vehicle brand new less than 25000 miles . I was researching many Ford owners had this same issue with less or high miles . Why haven't Ford make a recall for everyone safety. Code p144c is a common problem reported by consumers.

The car will "shut down" (wrench error light) at any time, anywhere, any speed. Very dangerous!!! error code p2111 throttle body actuator stuck open. I have seen numerous posts on this. Ford really needs to fix this!!! I will no longer let my child drive this car. So unsafe!! it happened to me several times a day probably three times in the last week. The vehicle is in motion, highway, city, straight, turns, fast, slow.

Took my Ford Mustang to Ford and they told me they had to replace the fuel vapour hose. Once job was completed I asked if it was covered since I had done research and it was a recall this Mustang had. They said no, and ended up paying 350. 84. Is there any way I can get a refund?.

Fuel evaporator valve faulty. Valve would stick open, causing vehicle to stall directly after fueling. I ordered the part through a Ford dealership. Replacement of fuel evaporator valve eliminated the issue. Part cost $45.

My 2013 Ford Mustang would lose engine power at highway speed. Would still run very rough, chugging at about idle. After a re-start it would run for a short time and repeat the event. Had the throttle body replace with a new Ford one and the problem returned two weeks later. The "wrench" light would come on and I would lose power. Very dangerous at freeway travel. Ford says their recall does not apply to Mustangs.

Started my car this morning and as I was backing out, I noticed it was idling roughly, causing the car to shake. When stopped, the car felt like it might die and the rpm was inconsistent while accelerating and the car was moving. Very rough riding. Also, engine light came on and begin blinking.

When my engine is running it leakes gasoline not from the exhaust but behind it where the hose is at I would really like this reported I just bought this car from covina Chevrolet about a month ago.
