Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Ford Mustang

The radio made a loud boom. Spooked me out and almost caused me to wreak. The radio continues to do loud booms and does not make any noise. I have researched if this was a common problem and yes there are many with the same issue. The radio will only flash time and will not play sound. I use the radio for the handless law passed last year. I also use it to tell me where to go. I was driving when this happened.

In my car when driving after 45 minutes or so (longs drives) the radio screen is freezing, you could see everything in the screen but can't use it even buttons, nothing works, I can note it by clock time in the screen is way back in time, when I touch the screen is hot if I shut off the car for about 30 to 50 minutes to cold down then the radio is back. Happens again if I drive another 45 minutes. Nothing happen if I drive downtown short drives.

Unable to open trunk in 2015 Mustang convertible. The key fob, dash release button and outside release button will not open trunk. Also found out back up camera is out too. I just found on internet tonite , this is a known problem due to poor design of wire harness in trunk lid. This is a safety issue since you cannot get in trunk and no operable camera . The check engine light came n then the radio came it won't turn off the heat will not turn off stays on continuous goes off for 3 seconds and come back on by itself.

Car fails to start on repeated occasions. Car information indicates battery voltage is at a 14. 3 on many occasions but car will not start. Lights come on as well as interior items like radio and information window. On one occasion car shut off while in traffic, and took a few minutes to get to restart. When push button start is pushed car acts like it wants to crank but does not. When this happens I have to get a jump to get the car started. I have taken it to Ford dealership for diagnostics only for them to tell me nothing is wrong, but this has happened close to 10x times now with no remedy. When it does not start is has been either stationary or in motion whether at home , work or city streets.

After heavy rain for a couple weeks. I was driving strait, in the rain on a city street. I noticed my radio turned off. Then also noticed my headlights and blinkers were also not working. After reaching my destination before it got too dark I stopped and tested all lights including brake lights. All of the exterior lights weren't working, the gas light came on (although I had atleast a half tank) tcs light and also the emergency brake light were on in the instrument panel. After parking the Mustang in the garage for a couple weeks until I had time to check the status of the car. I noticed the floor of the cab (passenger side) was damp. The car battery was dead (less than a year old, red top optima) and there was mold actually growing in parts of the interior of the car. I did some research regarding this issue and found it common from a failed plug under the windshield wipers next to the a/c filter. Causing the water to fill up between the firewall and the engine compartment, and ultimately leaking inside the cab onto the sjb (Smart junction box) located directly behind the firewall on the passenger side. I am very concerned for this safety issue for it can cause a serious accident if electronics fail while driving and also the fact that there is mold growing in my car from this issue. This is a common problem and needs addressed immediately.

Purchased 2015 Mustang 5. 0 with only 6000 miles. And numerous times I tried to register my Mustang with Ford sync vehicle health report but said my vehicle wasnt compadable, which I didnt understand. When I hit 13000miles. . . I noticed vehicle ac was not cooling for a couple days. I made an appointment with dealership but day before I was driving on the freeway checking if maybe the ac would work all of a sudden, the engine shut off. . . . I pushed the clutch back in and started it as I was in neutral. Engine turned back on and I turned off the radio and ac. Thank god I made it back home.

A year ago, I purchased a 2002 Mercury cougar. It had an in-dash 6 disc cd player. About 3 times a week, the cds would get jammed in the player. I got rid of the cougar and purchased a 2002 Ford Mustang two days ago. There are 6 cds stuck in the in-dash cd player on this car as well. Others I have talked to that own Ford/Mercury vehicles with the same type of cd player are having the same problem.

My car has a factory 6 disc cd changer, and one slot, #3, has numerous problems loading and unloading cds, causing them to get stuck in the head unit. Also, when loaded with cd's, the unit will randomly go into shuffle mode if playing a cd, or scan and save mode if playing the radio. This seems like a very poor part for what is supposed to be a premium audio system on a car with only 40,000 miles. . . .

While taking vehicle into dealer for diagnostic on engine noise, shaker 1000 stereo system failed, would not play or recognize cd's,would change radio stations on its own and clock woulod not keep time. Dealer replaced entire radio system.

Paint is peeling off, down to the sheet metal & radio makes high pitched whine & static.
