2 Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 03/22/2026

My passenger door latch pops open nearly every time I drive on the highway. The latches were previously the subject of safety recall 16s30. I had my vehicle inspected by a Ford dealership. No repairs or work was deemed necessary at that time. In the years since, my door now comes unlatched. Infrequently at first and now with very alarming frequency. Safety recall 20s30 was issued specifically to address these inspections and recalls being completed ineffectually. Somehow my VIN has been left off of this recall even though it was on the 2016 one. The dealership is trying to charge me nearly $2000 to fix a known safety issue. This seems unreasonable, unfair, and extremely dangerous.

4 Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 03/12/2026

I was driving down the highway with heater on and defrost. All of a sudden I hear a pop and my car started bogging down. I exited the highway to get out of danger, it then had a wrench light ( transmission) pop up and when I parked the car on the access road it started smoking a lot. I turned the vehicle off immediately and when I seen smoke coming from under the hood and into the cab of the car. I lifted the hood after seeing fire in the passenger wheel well. And then in the engine block towards the windshield in the middle of the engine. I am a fire fighter and it appeared to me that the fire was being fed by some kind of substance. Fort worth fire department showed up and put the fire out and took a report.

5 Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 03/05/2026

While driving, I attempted to depress my clutch pedal in order to bring my vehicle to a stop. My clutch pedal only went halfway to the floor. I was able to force it down to the floor using a higher than usual amount of force. After bringing my vehicle to a stop I inspected my clutch pedal and found that it had side to side play resulting from a cracked weld where the clutch pedal was welded to a shaft on the clutch/brake pedal assembly. Upon further research online I discovered that other owners of similarly aged Mustangs have had identical issues to what happened to me.

6 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 02/27/2026

I had parked my car in a spot at an office building. As I was about to put the vehicle in park it lurched forward going over a standard curb across a sidewalk and then into the brick wall of the building. The air bag did not deploy. The car lurched about ten feet total before hitting the wall.

7 Equipment problem of the 2017 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 02/17/2026

"I am reporting high desert Ford (formerly sunland Ford) for refusing to perform the remedy for safety recall 25s89 (NHTSA 25v572) on my 2017 Ford Mustang. Despite my vehicle exhibiting the exact 'distorted/blank image' defect described in the recall, the dealership refused the repair based on two non-compliant grounds: 1. Digital vs. Physical defect: the dealer stated that because no 'diagnostic trouble codes' (dtcs) were present, they would not replace the camera. This ignores the fact that NHTSA 25v572 identifies the root cause as internal pcb corrosion—a physical hardware failure that Ford acknowledges causes visual distortion regardless of digital codes. 2. Illegal tie-in (magnuson-moss violation): the dealership is conditioning my federal safety remedy on the removal of an aftermarket dash display. They claim diagnosis is 'impossible' with it installed, yet simultaneously claimed the vehicle 'passed' inspection. This constitutes an illegal tie-in provision under 15 u. S. C. § 2302(c), as they have failed to provide any technical proof that the display caused the internal camera corrosion identified by Ford. I have video evidence of the safety failure which the dealership refused to review. By denying this repair, high desert Ford is knowingly leaving a vehicle on the road with a defect that increases the risk of a crash. ".

Backup camera not working screen says see dealer. We thought car was included in Ford back over prevention recall 25v442000 Ford recall 25s72. However we are being told no recall exists and have to pay to fix it ourselves.

9 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 02/02/2026

The rear backup camera on my 2019 Ford Mustang intermittently stops working. At times the screen shows a blue screen or displays a “backup camera not available” message. The issue comes and goes without warning. This creates a safety concern when reversing, as visibility is reduced and the camera cannot be relied upon. The problem appears to be electrical and is not consistently functioning.

10 Equipment problem of the 2016 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 01/31/2026

There have been 3 instances within the last year and a half where the rear window of my vehicle (Ford Mustang) and the rear window of family member Ford Mustang both have shattered during the extreme cold possibly due to the heating coils on the window over heating and burning. You can see a burn pattern in the window this is a safety issue due to the window shattering, it sounded as if someone shot my window out the first time it happened my [xxx] son was in the back of the vehicle and I was driving home. The second instance, same vehicle, started the car using the remote starter and it did the same thing. This has not been inspected by my insurance representative, it has been reported in both instances through my insurance and pictures have been taken. There have been no warning signs or even issues, there wiring look like it had been burned, melted information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

12 Equipment problem of the 2025 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 01/21/2026

The main screen in the car completely went black all of the sudden with no prior warnings or signs to show cause of the outage. The duration of time was over 5 minutes and it was only the center screen not the screen behind the steering wheel it stayed on. The car mostly runs off of the center touch screen with all the braking, lane keeping, powered windows, airbags, gps etc to not have any control over any functions due to the screen outage is a big concern. It has not happened again but just this one time. I also have noticed if I put the vehicle in lane keeping control it starts to leak fluid on my feet inside the vehicle.

13 Equipment problem of the 2016 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 01/15/2026

The driver and passengers door opens while driving.

14 Equipment problem of the 2025 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 12/24/2025

While driving to mass on christmas eve, Wednesday, December 24, 2025, my wife and I heard a loud pop. Our first question was "what was that?" as we looked at each other. Then I realize the rear window had suddenly shattered starting on the right side, and was slowly falling apart. As this was only about a mile from my home, we immediately drove home. I contacted safelite auto glass to schedule an appointment to have the glass replaced thru my insurance company. There was no warning this was about to happen, and neither one of us noticed anyone or anything near us as we were driving. As I currently have the car covered due to the forecast of snow, I will upload a picture when I take the cover off to take it to have repaired.

15 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 12/01/2025

I was driving one day when I began to hear a knocking sound on my vehicle. I then took the time to look up the recall on my current vehicle and it had mentioned “rear suspension knuckles (24s49): certain vehicles have defective rear suspension castings that can fail, leading to loss of vehicle control”. I just got off the phone with Ford and they expressed me how I do not have that recall under my VIN however I am experiencing the exact same description of what is going on and I am trying to get it looked at, but when I told them that I need this issue resolved before something major happens to my vehicle. They had told me that I had to pay for the diagnostic fee as well as it may not be covered once it is fixed. The sound has only got louder and I am afraid I will be driving and something serious will happen.

16 Equipment problem of the 2017 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/21/2025

While backing up my rear view camera finally went completely out. I have 3 recalls and it's been way over a year or better all I keep getting is notices that they don't have my parts. Over a year really. Can you help me get my car fixed? I have 4 small grandchildren age 1-9 which 2 of them I pick up daily. I want to make sure I do everything I can to keep them safe. If I was a year late on my car payment they would not wait. I think I have been more than patient.

17 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/08/2025

When placing the car in reverse the backup works sometimes and most times it does not. Similar to other Ford vehicles currently under recall. I am of the belief this recall should be expanded to include additional years and models.

18 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/01/2025

Rear camera recall timely manner complaint 25sa9/25v695.

19 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 10/15/2025

My 2024 Ford Mustang has been experiencing a serious mechanical issue that the manufacturer has been unable to repair. The vehicle has been at the dealership for an extended period because a defective component cannot be replaced. Ford acknowledged that the required part has not yet been manufactured. The vehicle has remained unresolved for over five months. This creates a potential safety concern because the vehicle cannot be reliably used or repaired.

20 Equipment problem of the 2003 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 09/24/2025

Because of Mustangs heavy doors the latch mechanism malfunctioned and the door came open on the highway. I realize the car is old but I have read up on other complaints on Mustangs. The door was fine and within the couple of hours of seeing the problem I was driving 70 on the highway. And I heard the door ding go off and something told me to grab the door. It was all I could do to get back home. Which has now led to other issues like the door sagging and the window is now messed up.

21 Equipment problem of the 2018 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 09/13/2025

Rear camera safety recall. I've contacted the local dealerships of galpin Ford and santa monica Ford to fix and been denied. This recall is over 1-month now, and they say they do not have the parts to fix and cannot help. This is affecting my safety and a financial inconvenience. Please advise, thank you.

22 Equipment problem of the 2018 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 09/08/2025

The vehicle is subject to NHTSA safety recall 25v572 (manufacturer recall number 25s89) regarding the rear-view camera wiring harness. The manufacturer has notified owners of the safety risk but indicates that the remedy parts are currently unavailable and has failed to provide a specific timeline for repair. I have contacted the authorized dealer and the manufacturer requesting a remedy or an interim inspection, as the rear-view camera is currently functioning correctly with no blank screen or distortion. However, the manufacturer and dealer have refused to perform an inspection to verify the system's safety and close the recall status temporarily. Because the manufacturer cannot provide parts and refuses to offer an inspection-based solution, the vehicle remains flagged with an open safety recall indefinitely. This represents an unreasonable delay in the remedy process, rendering the vehicle unusable for its intended purpose while the manufacturer fails to address the safety defect status.

23 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 09/04/2025

My 2024 Ford Mustang is affected by recall 25c43 / NHTSA campaign no. 25v546 concerning water intrusion into the body control module (bcm) that may cause exterior lighting failure. Yesterday, on September 05, 2025, I contacted autonation Ford miami and requested the required interim inspection and bcm check. The dealer provided me with a written refusal, stating they “will not be able to perform inspection on recall 25c43 due to instructions for mechanic not available. ” this is unacceptable because under 49 u. S. C. § 30120(c)(1), a manufacturer must remedy a defect “without charge when the vehicle is presented for remedy. ” Ford’s dealer communication of Aug 25, 2025 instructed dealers to inspect body seams and the bcm for water or corrosion, and replace the bcm if needed. By refusing inspection, the dealer has left me driving a car at risk of safety-critical lighting failure. I am requesting that NHTSA enforce compliance so Ford dealers provide at least the required inspection and interim remedy immediately, rather than forcing customers to wait until 2026.

24 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 08/29/2025

The reverse camera is currently on recall. My vehicle has been experiencing intermittent camera issues as the recall describes. Ford's recall resolution states that the issue has to be replicated while with a technician to be fixed. While my vehicle was with the dealership for it's recall inspection the issue was not able to be duplicated regardless of the multiple occurrences over several months. We feel this does not adequately take care of the recalled problem and continues to present a safety concern until it is corrected. The earliest occurrence of this issue was documented on August 29, 2025 and has continued to occur since that date.

25 Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 08/22/2025

The weld that holds the clutch pedal broke causing the clutch pedal to not engage properly. Driving in traffic during a down shift stop almost caused an accident. Which led to not being able to shift gears which left the car unable to drive and left the stranded on the side of the road. The weld that hold the clutch pedal in place is insufficient and weak. While researching this issue I found many instances where this has happened to other drivers.

26 Equipment problem of the 2016 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 08/09/2025

• what failed & is it available for inspection? air-conditioning system failure. Loss of cabin cooling; dealer recommends compressor replacement (may include related components pending contamination check). Vehicle is at a Ford dealer now; no repairs performed yet. I requested the dealer retain failed parts for inspection. • how was safety put at risk? I live in las vegas; ambient temps ~112°f-120 degrees. This is my primary vehicle for transporting my [xxx] and for my work schedule. With no a/c, cabin temps become dangerously high within minutes, creating a heat-related illness risk (child and driver), impaired concentration, and fatigue during necessary trips. • has the problem been reproduced/confirmed? yes. An independent shop first advised compressor replacement. A Ford dealer subsequently confirmed loss of cooling and produced an a/c repair estimate after diagnosis. • inspected by manufacturer/police/insurance? inspected/diagnosed by an authorized Ford dealer. I opened a Ford customer relationship center case (xxx) and requested goodwill/after-warranty review. No police/insurance inspection. • warning lamps/messages/symptoms & onset? no warning lights. Symptoms began with weak/intermittent cooling in early August 2025 and progressed to no cold air. Mileage at failure ~87,279. A/c clutch cycles but cabin air remains hot. (owner context: original owner, [xxx] vehicle: 2016 Ford Mustang gt 5. 0. ) information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

27 Equipment problem of the 2017 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 08/08/2025

Trunk stopped working about a year ago along with the backup camera. I understand this is a known issue & recall however I haven’t had the time to bring it in. Finally brought it in & they will only replace the wiring harness which fixed the trunk but not the backup camera which is what I understand to be the main issue of the recall so it makes no sense. If the wiring harness doesn’t fix the main safety issue why aren’t they responsible for replacing the camera? thanks,.

31 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 07/04/2025

The curtain airbags deployed without any collision or impact. This suggests a failure of the airbag sensors. The vehicle and all components, including the deployed airbags and related sensors, are available for inspection upon request. The sudden airbag deployment created a significant safety hazard. If this had occurred while driving at higher speeds, it could have caused me to lose control of the vehicle. The force of the deployment itself poses a risk of injury and can cause burns, bruises, or hearing damage. Myself and the passenger experienced these injuries. Other drivers could have been endangered if my vehicle reacted unexpectedly due to the deployment. The manufacturer inspected the edr system which claimed that there was collision. There was no collision and no physical damage on the vehicle to suggest otherwise. This suggests a fault with the edr system, sensors, and safety components of the vehicle. The vehicle is currently under inspection by insurance representatives. A few months into initially driving my vehicle, a warning lamp stating "restraint indicator lamp fault" was appearing. In March, there was dent and paint damage on the vehicle caused by a driveway gate, unrelated to the recent airbag deployment. These damages and warning lamp were fixed by an insurance certified shop. A report from this repair shop will be provided upon request. It cannot be attached below due to significant file size. There were no indication or warnings suggesting further fault with the airbags or any other safety restraint from March to the July, when the incident occurred.

32 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 07/01/2025

Two issues actually 1. Back up camera gives the blue screen. Says unavailable and contact dealer. I have not yet as this just started. I am seeing a bunch of complaints on this though. 2. When I roll all the windows down then roll them up, the back triangle windows don't go up all the way. I have to get out of the car and pull them up all the way. Dealer said I just need to lube the edge and the groove they sit in. Which was tried. Didn't work. Could be a safety issue if I have to pull over and get out of the car to pull the windows up.

33 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 06/25/2025

The front windshield on my vehicle has cracked twice under normal driving conditions, without any significant impact or debris striking it. The cracks originated near the middle top and then another time lower edge of the glass and expanded rapidly across the surface. This seems to indicate a structural or design flaw, especially since I have seen multiple reports from other owners of the same make and model experiencing similar spontaneous windshield cracking. No, the cracked windshield is not available for inspection upon request. But I did have it sent to the dealership for review. The cracks compromised my visibility, particularly in sunlight and during night driving, which directly put my safety—and the safety of others—at risk. The second incident occurred on a highway, which was especially dangerous due to high-speed travel and glare from sunlight refracting through the cracks. This problem has not yet been formally reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center, but I have found numerous owner complaints online and in forums documenting the same issue. I believe this supports the theory that it's a broader defect rather than isolated cases. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance agents regarding this specific issue. I am open to having the damaged windshield reviewed by any party they recommend. There were no warning lights, error messages, or visible signs of damage before the cracks appeared. Both times, the windshield cracked suddenly while the car was parked or driving at moderate speeds, and the temperature conditions were not extreme.

34 Equipment problem of the 2016 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 06/24/2025

Brake stop lamps remain on when I was driving, my car was having throttle/acceleration issues. When I had my foot on the gas, my car would accelerate and the rpms would rise, but then all of a sudden the acceleration stopped as if I was not applying throttle. I had to constantly take my foot off the gas and reengage for the car to drive home. When I parked my car, I noticed that my brake lights were all on even though my car was turned off & it is draining the battery out. I did some research & found out there is a recall for this issue (22s02) for the 2015 Ford model & dealership mentioned that recall doesn't apply to my vehicle. So I have to get the repair done by replacing the break light switch & break pedal bumper assembly with my local auto zone shop and pay from my pocket.
