1 Rear Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2010

The passenger rear spring busted on my 2002 Ford Taurus while just sitting in the driveway. About 2 months ago the front driver's side spring busted while I was backing out of the garage (I already filed a complaint for that incident).

2 Rear Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2010

Our 2002 Taurus was sitting in our driveway when we heard a loud bang. When I looked the car over, I found a broken rear left spring. One end of the spring was about 1/2 inch away from the tire. If this happened on the road, the result could be catastrophic. We have not had the repair done yet.

8 Rear Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2008

My wife was backing out of the driveway with the kids in the back seat when a loud bang occurred. It appears that the drivers side spring had been broken for a short period of time because it was rubbing a groove into the side wall of the tire. The loud bang must have been the passenger side breaking. The passenger side would have punctured the tire quickly if my wife continued to drive. I haven't repaired the failure yet.

9 Rear Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2008

The back drivers side spring snapped and ripped a huge hole into my tire.

10 Rear Suspension problem

Left rear strut spring broke while driving and blew tire.

11 Rear Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2008

During annual required state vehicle inspection, mechanic discovered fractured rear spring. Mechanic says he sees a lot of these on Ford Taurus.

12 Rear Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/06/2007

My 2002 Taurus' back springs are broken, like many other Taurus owners.

13 Rear Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2004

While driving there would be a vibration in the rear suspension. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

14 Rear Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2002

Sagging of rear suspension. The first time I noticed this problem was when I took the family on a ski trip 2 months after purchase. Anytime after that I go on a trip, with 200 lbs worth of weight for the three rear passengers and three suitcases that barely weight another 200 lbs. This so called family car which I purchased for safe traveling with my family and which is advertised as a safe family car is a misnomer. Reason: the rear suspension immediately sags low with the weight I mentioned. I've taken it to two dealers three times and the service advisors states the rear suspension is normal. I've driven and owned many cars before and I never had such a problem (although I had seen that problem in the old k cars with Chrysler. ) point: in an emergency maneuver I believe it would become a dangerous situation with this condition . The car drives unstable, takes bumps really bad, and in slight highway turns over 45 mph, the car is hard to control; all due to this extra weight. Please advise me.
