1 Car Throttle Sticking problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2016

"takara recall" my throttle has been sticking and not releasing and when I throw it in neutral it idles at 4000rpms and only sometimes will it kick down most of the time it kills the engine when it kicks down even while driving down the road going 45mph.

2 Car Throttle Sticking problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2015

This happened on 3 separate occasions when slowing to stop for a light or because of traffic. The engine would rev and feel like it was putting out more power than it should. If I had bad brakes, I would definitely have hit someone. I would either shift the car into neutral or park and the rpms would shoot up to 4. I had to pump the gas a few times to get it to return to normal. I took it to a repair shop and they diagnosed it as a faulty idle speed motor that was sticking and causing the throttle to be stuck wide open.

3 Car Throttle Sticking problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2012

The throttle began to stick around the beginning of February 2012. The speed of the car averages around 50mph when the acceleration occurs. The distance seems to occur after 10 to 15 miles of travel. When this first began to occur in February 2012 there was one occurrence that the car had to be put in neutral for the accelerator to release. All other times (to date) the accelerator will release when the brake is applied.

4 Car Throttle Sticking problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2012

2005 Ford Taurus - throttle sticks, vehicle will speed up without pushing on the gas. This has occurred numerous times, quite scary regardless of location or speed. This has occurred in town and on the interstate. Vehicle must be put in neutral and the gas peddle must be pushed to the floor to get vehicle back under control.

5 Car Throttle Sticking problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2010

Throttle sticks and the engine idles as high as 2,500 rpm without applying any pressure to gas, causing the car to increase its speed without touching the gas. Even when applying the brakes, the car is difficult to stop and I must allow additional room to stop because the car is accelerating on its own while I'm applying the brakes. This occurs at random and approximately 1-3 times daily. The severity of the unwarranted acceleration seems to become more obtrusive as the mileage increases. I'm disappointed and frankly shocked that Ford has not issued a recall for this potentially dangerous faulty accelerator, especially considering they have been notified by many other concerned consumes such as myself. Until then, I can only hope the brakes can continue to overpower the accelerator that seems to have a mind of its own.
