My car will accelerate on its own without me pressing the gas. This happens at least 4 times a week while I am driving and happens when I am driving between 20 and 50 mph. I can make the engine rev/acceleration stop by quickly tapping on the gas pedal. I have had the cruise control disconnected because my mechanic thought this was part of the problem but the random sef-acceleration has continued and seems to be getting more frequent. This has been going on off and on for a few years but has increased in frequency over the past few months.

Vehicle stalled while driving, unable to restart. Due to loss of power, lost the ability to brake and steer easily. I was on a city street and entering an intersection when I lost power. There is an existing safety recall notice: 16s31 for 2013-2015 Ford Taurus made in chicago which my vehicle was. My dealer is advising that my VIN is not part of that campaign though all items fits the recall. My car is a Taurus, it is a 2014, it was made in chicago and the part failed while driving which could have resulted in a crash.

After trying to start my car this morning, the vehicle would turn over but wouldn't start. I learned of a recall that affected other 2015 Taurus for the fuel control pump module and replaced the part without any further issue. My vehicle however stated no recalls when searched by VIN. Vehicle was stationary in parking lot. No mechanical codes were showing either, vehicle would just turn over but not start.

My car runs fine before I fill up with gas. Then stutters like it doesnt want to start after. It has done this since I purchased it 2 years ago. Today on my way to work. It stuttered and a light with a wrench came on and then shut off. Would do anything. I waited a few minutes then it stared right back up. I see that there are some recalls for 215 Taurus but mine is not included.
Vehicle was parked in a parking lot and would crank, but not start randomly. There is a recall for this part on other 2015 Ford Taurus, but apparantly not for my specific model, which I find strange. The NHTSA campaign number is 16v621000. It says it includes the 2015 Ford Taurus awd, which my vehicle is. When I search recall by VIN, my 2015 Ford Taurus says there is no recall, when clearly my model should be included with the other 2015 models.

One day I was driving down the road to work and my lights started blinking on and off saying steering fault service now. I literally just got the vehicle in April of 2020 and this all started in June.
I was parked in my apartment complex parkings. I was charging my phone in the car while the engine is off. The radio as well as the interior lights were on for approximately 45 mins. Then, I tried to start the engine, but it did not start. It was giving a weird sound that is scary to me, the owner. So, I left it as is for the night. I am now reporting this problem because when I entered my vehicle's VIN number, the website stated that it does not have any recalls in it. I know that 2015 Ford Taurus has this recall problem, but for some reason, my car is not included with these cars.
Occurs every 2000 to 3000 miles when slowing down to stop. As I get near the idle speed (2-3 mph) with my foot on the brake peddle the engine starts to rev up and pull the car forward. I have to throw the transmission into neutral and the engine rpm's spike up to 5000 to 6000 and then immediately settles out to an idle speed. I had a tuneup done at 100k miles and part of the service was to "reset" the computer system. The shop ran a full diagnostic. This did not resolve the problem. I'm at about 118k miles now. This problem started to occur after about 75k miles during calendar year 2018.
Purchased a use 2013 police interceptor. Drove to store, car won't start, sat for a while it started, drove home and parked it. Not the first time vehicle engine stalls out, engine cuts out, won't start. Is there a recall on fuel system? can Ford remedy the situation or has it been fixed already?.

Vehicle in motion on expressway fails to accelerate/loss of power on acceleration vehicle time of failure 73,000 miles no in dash lights or codes. Dangerous and can pose extreme risk of vehicle crash. Took to Ford dealer they informed to just get rid of it. Just purchased vehicle less than six months ago.
Car stalled while driving later would not start would turn over but not run.
Vehicle emits strong odor of gasoline when setting in garage. Do not see any visible fuel leak. Afraid fumes may ignite!.
For the past 3-4 months my vehicle has a problem on start up (hot and cold) pressing gas and acceleration on street, highway, merging into traffic, etc - car runs very rough, sputters, hesitates and stalls. Eventually, on January 7, 2020 my vehicle did not start at all. It cranked but still would not start. Had battery checked (which was strong and fine) and had recent full tune-up done within the past 30 days of this complaint. Had taken my vehicle to the dealer for this same problem at least three(3) times with no result except to pay money for things that did not need to be done.
There is a recall on this issue that I'm having when I went to Ford they said there is no recall but I see a recall online for same issue the problem never got taking care of so I wanted to get it taking care of. Check engine light on I had it looked at the recall is same issue showing on my check engine light. Why is Ford saying there is no recall when I see that it clearly shows recall and no work had been done to my vehicle to fix this issue?.
The vehicle has struggled to start after refueling at a gas station with a hiccuping type feeling, as well as being inconsistent on power under acceleration. Sometimes very slow with a sudden pull, sometimes quick and responsive, it varies a lot by day.

My vehicle will intermittently shut off while in the middle of driving, and sometimes will hesitate to even crank. All fingers point to the fuel control module, which I believe have been recalled and this year and model of my vehicle. This has happened on a few occasions.
Car cranks but will not start. Replace fuel control 5 times but when replaced this last time it will not start. It would die in traffic and I would have to try and get to the shoulder of the road to get it started again. Power steering assist failed indicator light comes on and I have no power steering. I'm very unhappy with this car. Bought it brand new and have talked with Ford motor company but they say mine is not included in recall. 111,000 miles. Help me please! fuel control module went out first time in 2017 and this month which is October makes 5 times replacing it.
We were riding down a main road going at about 45 miles an hour when we lost power and the car began coasting but had the foot on the pedal to the floor, we pulled over when we could get to the side of the road and turned the car off, started back up but happened again so we pulled into an auto zone and they put it on machine that showed we had very little power. We towed it the next day to a mechanic and he said it was the throttle body unit. We were almost hit several times because of the way the car was acting.
Car shuts off with no warning while driving at different speeds. Wheel locks up no power period. After a couple of minutes resets itself and start again. If you try to start imediatly, will not start. Has happened several times over past few months.
While driving on state highway, my vehicle started losing power and acceleration. My speed was between 55-65mph and the vehicle was not overheating. The engine started shaking and making noises as well. I was able to drive about another mile before the vehicle came to a complete stop. While sitting on the side of the road at night with my kids, the vehicle continued to shake and had the tool symbol light on. When I tried to accelerate, the engine would shake more and sputter. I looked at the engine and could see it shaking with no obvious fluid leaks. After turning the vehicle off and sitting for a couple of minutes, I was able to start the vehicle and drive home. It seems like everything is back to normal but I will be contacting my Ford dealership in the morning to check it.
I was driving at highway speed when my engine died and the wrench light came on. The car stalled very rapidly. Luckily I was able to make it to the shoulder before an oncoming traffic could collide with me. After restarting my car, I was able to drive home without further incident. This problem has happened multiple times since. I checked and my model is not eligible for recall 16v621000. I don't understand why Ford is not recalling all Taurus of this year range as the problem does not seem isolated to just the ecoboost engines. There are many people reporting the same issue with non-ecoboost engines. This is not right to gamble with people's safety. I would really hope that the NHTSA takes this seriously.
First issue: when trying to start my car it would turn over about 60 seconds and the inside would turn on such as dash but engine would not start. Stationary second issue: today 7/22/19 while driving down the interstate my car just shut itself off as if not getting any fuel, could have caused a major accident thankfully it wasnt rush hour. In motion beaumont TX - they said my car did not fall under the recall but its doing the same thing as what the recall states.
I was driving and all of a sudden the car just dropped down to about 10 miles per hour. It wouldn't accelerate even when I pushed the pedal to the floor so I just went back to my job to park before I got to the main road where the rush hour traffic was.
The exact situation which is listed on this Ford recall has affected my Taurus. However, this issue is not connected with my VIN even though my window sticker says it was assembled in chicago. The car would start and then stop, it would not start back up, or it would do a combination. It wasn't the same every time. The dealer I had work on my car replaced the fuel pump driver module and informed me about the recall but I was never able to get in touch with Ford. I have recently been able to connect with Ford and they said it wasn't associated with my VIN and there was nothing they could do or submit to try for reimbursement since it's been over 90 days from when the work was performed.
Sometime in March 2019 my car didnt want to start. It had been parked over night at my house. I tried to start it and it just kept turning over but no start. I called the dealership and they had it towed to the dealer. I was advised that it was the battery. I was charged about $185 to buy another battery. The car was working fine until may 2, 2019 it was parked at my place of employment and had to leave it there over night and have it towed the next morning to the dealership. The wanted to charge me $400 to get it replaced. My arguement is I could of saved $185 on a battery that didnt need replacing and 2 months later they wanted me to ditch out more money. I had to arguement with them for several hours. Till the manager said that they will take care of the cost. But it shouldnt had lead to that. I know several Ford Taurus have been recalled but not my VIN number. I dont understand why when they are all Fords Taurus 2014 and they are having the same problem. I wouldnt of spend $185 on money I dont have to spend.
My car sputtered out then stopped in the middle of the highway.
I see that my car has several recalls for fuel module issues. My car recently started leaking gas and the gas hand has suddenly stopped working. According to my VIN the only recall is my door handles but I think that my gas issues are apart of the recall that cnn spoke about. There are also weird issues with the axel or suspension that seem to be apart of the recalls for this year. I'm hoping I can find out if my vehicle is apart of these recalls and that it can be repaired because it is not safe. The ac and heat also have major issues that nobody can seem to fix I believe it's an electrical issue.
Electric problem with lights take awhile before coming on. A popping on the right under the car in the front . And a funny noise in the steerling wheel when turning either way.

I have the exact problem that is described by the recall but my VIN number isn't part of the recall. This can't be right and I have paid through the nose to fix what other people got for free.
Engine stumbles on light acceleration like it is starving for fuel. I hit the gas, the engine starts to respond, then stumbles. Doesn't natter if the engine is hot or cold. I have the same issue with my 2018 f-150. Dealer can't find anything, as it doesn't produce a fault code and it doesn't act up when they test it.

As my wife drove her 2015 Ford Taurus down highway 395 the car suddenly cut off without any warning. Luckily we had enough room behind us before the big rig following behind could avoid us as we pulled out of the way. Took the car to Ford via aaa. They informed me it was a fuel module relay. This was a mass recall situation for Ford. Coincidentally my VIN was not on the recall list for a widely known problem. Now I'm forced to pay for repairs. I request that all cars made from 2013 to the end of 2015 or newer be placed on the recall list. Luckily it didn't result in a horrific accident.
