Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of GMC Acadia

Although in park, the dash alerts the following message : �shift to park� this alert does not allow the vehicle to be shut off fully as the radio still plays, lights remain in and the dash remains lit. Have tried to restart and shift into different gears then return to park as well as engage the emergency break. Nothing works to fix this.

When being placed in park to turn off vehicle, message states "shift to park". When this happens I am unable to lock doors, parking lights stay on as well as radio. It takes several attempts to get it to not read " shift to park". This happens very often.

The radio randomly stopped working a few weeks ago and the signal light you can't hear. No beeps at all are being heard since the radio stopped working. It turns on but you can't hear anything. You also can't hear any of the sensors if they light up on the dash.

2017 GMC Acadia has �shift to park� error for the last 6 mths. Will not acknowledge the car is in park and will not turn car off completely. It has caused other issues with the car like battery/car hesitating to start in the morning. Also the radio/bluetooth not disconnecting after turning car off. You have. This is a long process to get the car to realize it is in park. After turning car on and off, shifting car out of park and back into park. And also wiggling the shift gear. This after knowing it is an on hoing issue for well over a year is still not a recall and they still have not made a fix for this.

When I turn my car off, I am getting a �shift to park� error code even though the car is in park. If you ignore it, the car acts as if it is still on, lights and radio won't turn off. When I got my son out of his car seat the car started moving a little even though it was off and in park. You have to turn the car on and off multiple times and shift the car around to different settings until it just decides it's finally in park. This is dangerous and what happens if one day it just decides it won't go into park no matter how many times you try and apparently through research this is a known and common issue yet a recall has not been issued.

Dropped off my car at the GMC dealer still waiting for a response and what's going on in my car would not start had it towed multiple lights on the dashboard including lock car remote would not start several things on light inside and also the radio would not turn off when the car was not running. . Do you to have a record on the blindside system don't know if this would cause any electrical problems with the car my truck was in the shop last week they told me it was a back order nationwide don't know if this caused a problem electrical problem or any issues with my truck.

There is a water leak every time it rains. Once I could not shut off my car had to take it to the dealership. Said the drain line for sunroof had debri and water was sitting on fuse box. Water leaks in floor board. Yesterday, there is no sound in vehicle at all (no radio no blinking noise when blinker is turned on. ).

Does not always recognize that it is already in park and will alert me telling me to put it into park. Will not shut off the lights/radio/etc. Because it does not �think� it's in park when it is. I have researched this and it seems many other Acadia owners have experienced this and had to pay out of pocket for its repair.

When the vehicle is put into park(stopped) and turned off the car does not recognize that it is in park. So now it says "action required shift to park" (the gear shift is in park). The engine will be off but the lights, radio anything tied to the battery will not turn off. This runs down the battery if you cant get the card to park. Dealer ship will not fix.

While on a highway using the intellilink navigation system suddenly the icons from another screen, the radio controls appeared over the top of the navigation map. I couldn't see the map anymore and didn't know when or where to turn. Nothing I did fixed it except to pull over on the side of the road and turn off the car and turn it back on again. This is very dangerous because one might turn on a one way road or in to a crime ridden neighborhood.

I was driving 50 mph on a very busy city highway when I heard what sounded like a truck putting on air brakes but no trucks around me, I felt shuddering under my foot. Suddenly "service charging system" or something like that flashed on my dash and I lost power steering, acceleration, everything. I was able to pull hard on the wheel to get into the right lane from the center lane, there was no shoulder to pull off on. Brake was hard to depress, it felt like it was all the way to the floor. I had power from the battery, it was sitting at 12 volts. I turned the vehicle off and restarted, I couldn't hear if the engine was running as the cars going past were so loud, but the radio was on and dash lit up like it had started but it would not move. Called my insurance and they sent a tow truck. While turned off on the tow truck, the outer rim of the head lights and the main headlights suddenly illuminated and about 5 minutes later they went off. Dealer was able to start it, but not move it. I dropped it on Thursday, by Friday they still didn't have an answer and I have to wait till Monday. I had one of my children with me when this all happened. It was very scary. There are just over 36,000 miles on my Acadia. My husband also noted that the day before when he tried to start it, it didn't start right away, it paused, he left off the key and about a second later it finally started.

I'm the 2nd owner and so far I've had to have a motor mount & 2 catalytic converters replaced. The ac started having issues with the controls not working & then the ac completely broke and leaked all the refrigerant which made a huge mess. There's a horrible oil leak that can't seem to be stopped. The brake pedel makes a loud squeaking noise. And now there is some strange noise coming from behind the dash, uncertain if it's the radio, cd player or ac/heat. All these problems at under 80,000 miles!!!.

I've been having issues with the a/c unit, I try to turn it on and all that it does is flash 3 times and then it goes back to off, it doesn't cool at all. I tried to research the problem in the internet and at the GMC website and it seems that is been a huge issue since 2007 for this model! I called the dealer and although they know what the problem is they insist in charge me $100 to connect it and troubleshoot it even though they know the issue. They are charging between $ 1200 and $2000 to "fix" a known problem. This problem is causing that my cd player gets hot while is playing the cd and eject them from the system. Please I need you to research and help out with this issue. They say that is a issue with low or leaking cooling system and that it needs freon or that is the hvac system, but is the same excuse to hundreds of customers, some of whom decided to just run the vehicle without a/c during hot summers. Because of all my medical issues, I can't have the " luxury" of not having the a/c broken, nor I have the money to pay for something that is giving so many people so much problems! thanks.

I wanna know why 3 weeks ago all the sound in my vech stopped working the radio comes on shows u what song is playing and nothing comes out they say the radio is bad so I goggled it and a tonnnnnn of people have the same problem don't u think there has to be a defect and why was it never recalled ?.

2008 GMC Acadia has several problems with safety recalls and dealership response. Water entered through the passenger side roof. The tire pressure monitoring light illuminated. The driver seat made a noise while being adjusted and there was a noise coming from the steering column when it was cold. The radio and navigation screen went out and the drivers seat did not move.
