Roof And Pillar Problems of GMC Acadia

The contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. While driving approximately 70 mph, smoke and flames began to emit from the roof of the vehicle without warning. The fire department extinguished the fire and filed a report. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 151,000.

The car has had electrical and engine problems since we purchased it due to water leaks from a flawed sunroof design. Even after a recall to fix the sunroof to prevent water leaks; it continues to leak and damage electrical and engine systems. This is an ongoing problem and is a widespread concern for the 2007-2008 GMC Acadias. I would like someone to investigate this problem. I believe it is a safety concern because the leaks occur in the area where there are airbags. I think there is a structural defect that may not be able to be repaired and it presents a safety hazard for all who drive these vehicles. Please investigate this problem. Do not let GMC sweep this under the rug!.

Sunroof leaks in to electric system, thank god driving on side street, brakes locked up and was able to get to side of road. Dealer westboro GMC tried to fix leak x 4 but leak continues, brake stability problem,remote start, mold, car pulls to right when brakes applied, just to name a few of the electric problems caused by water running in to electric system. Dealer washed there hands of it. I now own a $40,000 lemon .
