The back seat driver's side door shut with such impact as to amputate the finger from an adult. Vehicle was parked on incline when front driver's side door shut, the back door also shut. There were no safety features to protect fingers from the hinge side of back door. The force of the door slamming and lack of any space between the hinge side of the door and its frame caused my middle finger from the top knuckle up to be cut off completely thus amputated from hand.

Vehicle in a motor vehicle accident, hit from behind with great force. Airbags did not deploy. Three occupants in vehicle. The frame was easily damaged of the vehicle causing it to be totaled out. This VIN was not marked apart of recall but yet it does show it is. Recall was reported a week prior to incident unknowingly at the time of incident. Vehicle was hit at a stop red light by a chevy suburban that drove away. The airbags should have went off. There is video image from local city traffic cam to show the hit. Good brakes though. Was able to hold onto the brakes and not hit the vehicle in front of me. Vehicle is at local salvage lot as of 2/8/24 and you may be able to grab it before it’s parted out or reconstructed.

I opened my power lift gate to load groceries in the trunk. It opened without issue. As I loaded the groceries the lift gate came crashing down on my head. This happened in the festival foods parking lot around 5:05 pm today (7/16/23). Once I moved out from under it I saw the left arm was popped off. I popped it back in , there is a metal piece that was messed up. It came/ happened out of nowhere. I’ve never had an issue with it.

Incomplete recalls.
Passenger side carpeting and foam are soaked from a leakage somewhere. The fuse panel under glove box is soaked and not working correctly. Water is almost making its way into battery under passenger side rear floor. Rust has formed under the shifting console. Car is moldy. No one can tell me what is happening but thousands of complaints online regarding GMC Acadia all have this problem. My vehicle is useless 20,000 in the driveway and cannot drive. Not to mention me and my kids have been driving in mold for who knows how long. GMC needs to fix this issue before they have a class action lawsuit on their hands.

The power liftgate suddenly collapsed while I was standing underneath it. It dropped on top of my head pretty hard as it was a sudden drop of the liftgate. My safety was/is at risk and has caused injury to my head. Currently experiencing headaches. As condition progresses, I will be seeking medical attention. It is available for inspection. I have recorded a video of the problem. The problem is recurring and reproducing. I have not taken it to a dealer or independent service center today (9/13/2021 date of incident) as the weather is bad in my area (experiencing high rain and winds from a tropical storm). I will have it taken in on 9/14/2021. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone. There were no warning indicators or other symptoms prior to the initial collapse.
The Acadia 2020 while in slow motion approaching my private condominium parking spot, accelerated autonomously and then slammed into the cement wall. Airbags deployed, no warning of collision, seriously damaged both car and cement wall. No bodily injuries. I researched the possible cause coded p2138 which involves the drive by wire sensors which connect the throttle pedal and the cpu that controls the mechanical throttle gas system. That might be the cause of the autonomous acceleration like explained about the p2138 sensors issues.
This vehicle has twice had parts replaced for the "shift to park" issue detailed in gm TSB 19-na-206. The first incident was in April 2019, and it was repaired under warranty at about 24,800 miles. The second incident was this past week at about 50,800 miles, and this repair cost almost $800 to fix. I contacted gm customer support and was told that I could not get any reimbursement because there was no special coverage or recall for this known problem. This is completely unacceptable, since the problem is clearly a defect in parts manufacturing or assembly, and it renders the vehicle completely unusable since it is impossible to turn the car off when the car does not recognize that the shifter is in park. This is a safety issue because the driver needs to be certain whether or not the vehicle is securely parked before leaving the vehicle.
There is water that comes down into the wiring harness of all of the doors. I am able to take the wiring harnesses off and tons of water dumps out. This has corroded many of the electrical components. The corrosion has led to locks windows mirrors and speakers not working. Please recall this. . . . .

GMC please take accountability for the sunroof leak issue! years of data, almost 100 complaints, someone should already know about this and have a solution! my car has serious leaking issues from the sunroof above the driver, electrical to cabin doesn't always work except dash lights, and headlights/turn signals work sporadically. The locks work when they're in the mood. Also means ac/heat works sometimes. . I live up north and it's 24 today. My windshield wiper fluid remains empty because it randomly turns on and drains out: which also means replacing my wipers is a bad idea because they randomly turn on for at most an hour and dry wiping the window. . . And destroying the wiper blades. All wheel drive won't work, despite mechanic seeing no issues. I've taken down the mounts and tried to flush the draining tubes myself. . And they're clear with no leaks when I tested the tubes. I don't know what to do. I wish I could afford to fix this, because we need this vehicle; everyday I'm scared to drive it! we won't drive at night for the risk of the headlights shutting off, and always fingers crossed my turn signals will function today. I have kids! my families not rich, we can't afford another vehicle or the costly repair, being that I'm a single mom barely buying bread and paying rent as it is since my hours got cut from covid. I only wanted a safe vehicle, I didn't realize I had to be specific and ask for one with headlights and electronics working appropriately, too. I'll be sure to next time I buy a car. . . Whenever that lucky day occurs. Please pray for us.

My 2013 GMC arcardia slt model burst into flames on its own on the morning of Friday, July 17th. I came home around 9:45pm and parked my SUV in the backyard. The next thing I know is that the fire department was at my door waking me up to the SUV ablaze. The only work that was done to my vehicle was to have my oil change that Thursday morning. At which time the tech said he saw smoke and smelled gas. He didn't indicate that it was a problem and zi should get it checked. I took SUV and ran my errands and returned home. The lift gate opens and then immediately falls. It has hit me in the head a couple of times. The lift gate can only be held up if it is pushed up as high as it can go. I am short so that is hard for me to do. I also can't load/unload groceries if I'm holding the lift gate up. I let the lift gate close part way, holding it with my back as I try to load/unload groceries, but now the motor is pulling it closed on me and has trapped me up against the bumber! the car is always parked when we open/close the lift gate.

"takata recall" on Tuesday June 19 I had pulled into my driveway just before my garage with my two small children. I put the car in park and got out to unload and prepare to transfer my one kid and then the other. It was 100 degree weather so had to keep the car running. After a minute or so being in park, my car began to drive forward with no one behind the wheel. My car drove off my retaining wall and landed vertically with my children suspended in their car seats. Emergency officials responded. I have video and will hold off fixing the damage of vehicle so that the feds can investigate. GMC also would like to take a look at it. Please let me know where to submit my security footage.

We have a 2008 GMC Acadia that now has approximately 164,000 miles. It was recently found out that a water leak has caused the airbag system to be come completely disabled. Water leaks in these model vehicles are a known issue and gm has put out technical service bulletins about these leaks and how to fix them. Because our vehicle is over the mileage limit the local dealership is saying gm will not warranty the leak repair or the damage to the airbag system from the leak. We are now faced with a bill of $1600 to repair the airbag system and unknown amount to repair the water leak and any other damage caused by it to the vehicle. What I do not understand is why a leaking sunroof with admitted factory defect issues from the manufacture has a mileage limit for warranty repairs. I can understand a time limit. This issue has now made our vehicle completely unsafe for my family to drive and ride in.
