No traffic collision. Preemptive report. Headrest positioned so far forward that head is forced into a downward position. Unable to comfortably maintain eye contact with the road in this position (photo attached). Only remedy is to have headrest positioned so far down that it would cause decapitation in a collision. I was not aware of the decapitation risk when purchasing the vehicle. Gm initially stated the dealership should have remedies in the form of alternate parts to be installed at the dealership. Dealership stated that is not the case and they do not have any resolution available.

My car seats (2nd row & 3rd row) seats are rattling really bad when I am on the freeway or highway roads; signs of loose seats. Very concerning to wear it loosens the seat belt strap securing my toddlers car seat. I thought it was the road but unfortunately it’s my seats.

When lowering the 3rd row seats the headrests will not fold down, making it impossible to lower 3rd row seats fully.
GMC told me I needed to contact you regarding my third row seats not going down flat. The headrest will not flip forward causing me not to be able to use my vehicle as intended.
I was driving and all of a sudden my drivers seat started to move foward and down and then eventually reclined fully back and then stopped. Now my seat is permanently reclined. I could have been killed or seriously injured because the seat was moving while I was driving the car and I felt I could have been smushed into the steering wheel.

I have pictures the seat, the airbag in the seat. The driver's seatit didn't come through the seat, but it deployed or ruptured. But it didn't bust through the seat. It's like a big bubble. I was just driving and I heard a pop but it didn't come through the seat. It left the lump in the seat. I still think it's dangerous, cuz. It's busted.

Went to burt watson the end of may. Paid $250 to diagnose 3 problems. Trans was intermittently kicking into passing gear when starting from a stop position, a service engine light and passenger side blind spot warning would come on when nothing was there and other times wouldn't recognize a vehicle was there. Around the middle of July the battery began draining intermittently leaving me stranded at night away from home. The rear defogger began turning itself on and couldn't be shut off and was very hot to the touch. The drivers seat moved all the way forward on its own pressing me into the steering wheel and dash while I was driving at highway speed. Forcing me to change 2 lanes of traffic trying to get to the side of the road. I was told by the service manager that the rear fuse block had shorted out do to water intrusion from bad drain ports. This was replaced, and then I was told something else was draining the battery. And this was "one " of the things not covered by warranty. There is a service bulletin stating that there may be pinholes at the top of the a-pillars and d-pillars yet the dealership stated a new windshield was needed. There are several service bulletins indicating that such leaks can reek havoc on the electronics. The dealership has changed their estimate several times with still no solution in site. The vehicle has been sitting at the dealership since July. At one point it was communicated to me that gm would assist in the cost of the repairs when and if job was ever completed. They are now stating the cost to repair the issues is $5500. 00 and is my responsibility.

I'm not sure what this is but I'm not reporting damage I'm reporting the factory model. This vehicle seating is not appropriate for the body size of the front of the vehicle. I've had two other Acadias and I didn't have this type of issue. The side of the vehicle where the mirror is located is so large is can cover the view of two cars. And even adjusting the seat doesn't help. You literally have to lean up to loom out the front windshield to make sure you are in the correct place. It's a safety hazard and whoever manufactured this particular car did not do so well.

Service airbag light is on. Diagnostic code states it’s the wiring harness under the passenger seat causing an amp draw. Mechanic told me there is a safety recall but I’m not seeing one for this issue, however I do see a lot of other complaints for this same issue. This is a safety issue and should be addressed.

The contact owns a 2020 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that she was rear-ended by another vehicle at a high rate of speed while attempting to make a left turn. As a result, the front passenger seat fractured. The air bags failed to deploy upon impact; the contact hit her head and was knocked unconscious during the incident. The contact was taken to the hospital by ambulance and was treated for a hematoma on her forehead above her right eye. Her husband, who was driving the vehicle, was later treated for muscle pain in his back. A police report was filed at the scene. The vehicle was towed from the scene to an independent mechanic where it remained in their possession. The dealer nor the manufacturer had to be notified of the failure. The contact owns a 2016 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the driver’s side seat control panel had detached from the seat without warning. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to a dealer where the seat panel was replaced out of pocket. Recently, the contact discovered that the same panel was fractured for the second time. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact made another appointment with the same dealer for the same failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The second row seats get stuck from time to time when attempting to fold them down. We have also been having issues with the shift gear when trying to place it in park. When the car is placed in park and we try to turn it off, the car will refuse to shut off and will ding until finally the car registers that the shift gear is in park. I have to turn on and off the car multiple times, and even wiggle the gear multiple times before the system finally recognizes that the car is in park.

Drivers side seat squeaks when driving and braking. Basically whenever the seat rocks back and forth. Mechanic said he can't understand why it does it but he thinks it's the mounting track on the base into the connection to the backrest. Said most likely an entire seat or frame of seat would need replacing.

There are hundreds if not thousands of 2014 Acadia owners having a service air bag light come on and wont go off. There was a recall for all Acadia's of 2013 and earlier that had a recall to fix this dangerous issue. 2014 needs to be included in this recall. This is a safety hazard and possible death upon impact issue if airbag doesnt go off due to GMC's negligence in dealing with the same issue previous models had. GMC could face lawsuits if someone is killed due to this issue on this year Acadia. Its approx $500 to fix and is a consistent problem across many owned Acadias. My car has never been in an accident or had the airbag deployed. This needs to be dealt with immediately.
The service stabiltrak notifcation keeps coming on and shutting off on its own while in motion on a street and it has also happened while on the highway. It has occurred at different speeds and several times with different people driving. The dealership can't figure out why and it doesn't show it even came on at all. When in motion on a strret going 46mph the car tried to auto correct pulling me out of my lane by itslef. It was a straight street with no curves where this occurred. Thank god there wasnt a car in the lane next to me. The side mirrors reset themselves all the time. If I move the seat and then hit the memory button so it will go to the set position the seat doesn't move at all. I have had rental cars more than my Acadia the past 2months while the dealership trys to get these issues fixed. I love the car but am getting mad with all these issues.
Front seats feel loose and like they shift. When they shift and move a popping noise is heard. The shifting and popping noise happens in and out of corners, going over driveway/parking lot aprons. The sensation is unpleasant and irritating. Have spoken to dealer and auto body shop. Associates claim similar problem existing with yukons. Does GMC have a seating problem or recurring defect?.
On April 5, 2018, my family and I (front passenger) were in a head on collision. Upon impact my seat's locking mechanism lost control of my seat causing me to be thrown forward and impacting the dashboard, which I believe contributed to my injury, fractured l1 and l2.
Passenger seat sits low on the floor with my shoulders under the window shelf and not adjustable up or down, the seatbelt is also not adjustable and hit right under my chin. No way of getting away from being injured or decapitated in a crash. Im 5'5".
Manual drivers seat will not stay up. I set the seat high so I can see. Going down the road hitting normal bumps ,the seat slowly sinks all the way down. Dealership tried fixing but it did not work. Have record of repairs just in case this causes me to have a accident.
The casings to the seatbelts in the 2nd row have come off along with a lot of other plastic casing such as the floor vent in the back, the front seat reclining knob and others. The electrical system related to the speaker wires and the power door locks and windows are dysfunctional. The airbag light is on not sure if it is from the recall.
The 2014 GMC Acadia slt1 has the latch safety system on captains chairs only, not on the 3rd row seating. If you have two car seats occupying 2nd row captains chairs you can not fold the seats to access the third row. This is a surprising design flaw; considering the vehicle targets families.
The contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact's vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. In addition, the base of the driver's seat detached. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries to the head, which required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN and failure mileage were unknown.

During times of heavy rain or when driving through a car wash, water enters vehicle interior. Water can be heard moving around in headliner of rear while vehicle being driven. With vehicle in motion water can be seen leaking out of air bag label on driver side panel between windshield and door. Inspected drain tubes from sunroof and found them to be completely clogged. Upon clearing debris clogging the tubes an exessive amount of water came shooting out and tubes drained for about an hour a non stop stream. Approximately a week or so later, started having problems starting vehicle. Tested battery and it was fine. Tested alternator and starter, both fine. Two weeks later car wouldn't start again. Upon aaa arriving to jump my vehicle we discovered the entire battery compartment behind passenger seat was completely filled and battery submerged in water. Further inspection found entire floor board saturated and headliner. Mold was also found on seats, seat belts, carpet, air vents, sun visors, and door panels.
Within 24 hrs of buying the vehicle my exhaust system fell off going down the highway. All the lights but the check engine light works on the dashboard. When you stop or accelerate the driver's seat moves forward or backwards slightly. Traction control does not work after the second week of owning it. When receiving for loaner vehicles all of them did not have working engine lights.

The drivers side front seat has something loose under the leather. There is something that moves when you go around turns or stops. It also makes noises and pops.
Hearing rattle sound from 2nd and 3rd row from day1 for 2017 GMC Acadia denali. Primary source seems(something inside) seats in 2nd row and may be 3rd row. Rattle can be heard when going over bumps or bad road patches on usual city roads. Seems whenever vehicle goes over a bad road patch, 2nd/3rd row seats vibrate a lot and rattle sound can be heard. Sometimes I can hear slight rattle from around passenger side 1st row door as well.
I own a 2008 GMC Acadia I have had it used since Jan 2015 I have had it in dealership almost every 3 months since I bought it. I was recently driving and had a fire in the passenger heated seat where my daughter was sitting and it burned a small hole in her jeans so far GMC is checking to see if its a defective equipment failure or not? in the mean time my sunroof has quit working and now my roof is leaking and my car smells like mold. The whole electrical system is going crazy with flashes of interior lights. I also had the vehicle stop on me in the middle of parking and found out the power steering pump needed to be replaced. They need to have a recall on these vehicles because our children ride with us and they are unsafe especially now that her jeans are burned and she has a small pink spot from the heated seat. The dealership told me today likely the seat wont be replaced and if its not I will be contacting me a lawyer. My children s safety come first. Hopefully the will also do a recall on the electrical equipment and the sunroof leaking because our vehicles are not safe after water gets onto all the electrical devices and shorts out and may cause a fire next.
Vehicle was stationary and in motion display read airbag malfunction warning light. Took vehicle to randy marion GMC in huntersville, nc to be fixed. Electrical connecter problem "due to corrosion " was "fixed" only to have error light come on again 24hrs later. This is a new vehicle with only 24,000 miles on it and is garage kept. Randy marion gave is a loaner vehicle and was going to order new connectors for the airbag. We dropped truck off on Saturday, December 12th and finally had it returned to us the following Friday afternoon, December 18th "fixed again. " this morning, driving family to the store, my father-in-law said that his seat was not stable. We discovered seat was not bolted down and returned truck back to randy marion Buick-GMC. Service manager apologized and said it was an oversight and not bolting the seat back down. Waiting to get our truck back in working a safe condition. Terrible!!!.
