36 Seats problem of the 2010 GMC Acadia

I was cleaning my car and saw the seat cushion leather sticking out. After further investigation the seat cushion lifts out of the base. The car has electric seats.

37 Seats problem of the 2012 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 04/02/2015

On April 2nd while driving home from work, was stopping at a stop light and all of the sudden the driver's seat just jerked like it was coming unbolted. It now makes a squeaking noise and the seat has give to it, like its not bolted down real tight. I fear it is very unsafe. We do not even drive the car every day. The main reason I have not repaired it yet is because gm has a history, of saying it is not a manufacturers issue. And I will have to pay for the repair. I have had to have it at the repair shop 4 times already for an air bag issue. Then had to take it in for a rusted fuse in one of the headlamps, another issue they told me was not a manufacturers problem and I had to pay for it. The original light bulb was still installed in the vehicle. Of course it was a manufacturers issue. Gm also has many reasons for not making recalls on their vehicles. So at this point I feel I don't have many places to turn. I am very nervous about driving this vehicle that we pay good money for and gm does not want to take ownership for the issues with the product. So I am left with trying to research and see if anyone else has had this issue.

38 Seats problem of the 2008 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 01/10/2015

This vehicle leaks through the sunroof and it goes all around the interior of the vehicle. Since it leaks inside I'm afraid it is going to reach the electrical components of the vehicle. It also leaks around where the battery is at an it can cause a shortage. Water also falls in through all the way to the carpet where the driver and passenger side, I don't know if the rear rows are affected. This makes the car have a ugly smell and sometimes I can't even breathe in my own car-- it smells extremely humid and horrible. The water that leaks in also leaves nasty marks around the interior roof of the car that really makes me feel depressed as soon as I open my door and see it. This problem really concerns me and I've also see multiple reviews of people with the same vehicle that have this problem. I can't drive my car in the rain or take it through the car wash without water leaking inside, and I hope one day it doesn't cause a fire in the electrical components.

39 Seats problem of the 2014 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 11/14/2014

I have had my 2014 GMC Acadia denali for a little over 6 months. Since that time I have driven a significant number of miles. A few months ago I started have neck pain and I could not adjust the seat head rest to a comfortable state. On November 14th 2014, I had an er visit after the nerve pain in my arm was so severe I could not stand it. On December 22nd 2014 I had to have surgery for a herniated disc below my c6 vertebra. Because it was causing nerve pain in my arm and loss of strength. I have seen other complains online with these neck rests and complaints of injury in the GMC Acadia vehicles. I have contacted my GMC dealer and GMC customer complaints and there is no solution. The problem, is the head rest come too far forward and do not lock in place. They can be pushed forward and back without depressing the button. Also the head rest to not adjust up with enough height so I can not adjust the head rest up enough for my 6' 3" height. I wish gm would take this problem seriously.

40 Seats problem of the 2011 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 10/03/2014

While driving on the highway, my six year old daughter exclaimed that her head was "touching the front seat" and her "feet were on the floor". When I (the driver) looked back, I saw that her seat had dislodged and ejected her into an upright position. This caused her head/face to be hitting the seat in front of her and her feet to be on the floor of the car. I had to immediately pull over on the side of the highway. I observed that the seat (cushion part - not the back) had popped up causing my daughter and her carseat to pop up as well. I could see under the seat as I was trying to position the seat into place. I noted severe rusting on the metal seat track/frame which appeared to be the cause for the seat to unhinge or unlock. It took several attempts to lock the seat back into place. This is obviously a serious safety concern and my daughter could have been severely injured, if not died if the car had been in a crash. The car seat ejected from simple driving. This could have had a tragic ending.

41 Seats problem of the 2012 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 07/08/2014

I have been having problems with my vehicle for a while now. The car will cut off in traffic I have gotten stuck in the seatbelt as well as today while I am trying to make a left the car would not accelerate as I was hitting the gas pedal I could have been killed. I have taken my vehicle to arnie bauer on another occasion because I had just left the gas station filling the tank up I got in the truck pulled out of the gas station and the gas gauge started going up and down my overhead lights came on and the car just died out in 45 mph traffic I took it in and all they keep telling me is if they can't duplicate the problem they can not help me how is this safe number one number two I do not know when the vehicle is going to cut off. I have had the speedometer just go up and down as I'm driving as well as the radio would just start to shift from auxillary to cd to radio without ever being touched. If I hit a pothole lights start flashing this is unacceptable. But I'm being told there is nothing that can be done because they can't replicate the problem how is this on my shoulders I'm paying for an extended warranty that is not worth the paper it's printed on. It has to be an electrical short or something they just do not want to repair. But I can not keep putting my families lives in danger driving this vehicle because they say they can not replicate the problem. This is dangerous and GMC will not help.

42 Seats problem of the 2010 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 05/30/2014

The GMC Acadia has recently had a recall for a piece within the seat for air bags. However there is another piece called the passenger presence module (part #20933923) within the same seat that is also defective but not covered in the recall. This piece basically determines if someone is sitting in the seat and if the airbags need to be deployed if in an accident. If this piece is not working properly the person sitting in the passenger seat may be at risk. This car has never been in an accident nor have the airbags ever been deployed.

43 Seats problem of the 2011 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 04/29/2014

I had to have my steering pump replaced because of a loud whining sound. I bought this car new. Also the heating element went out in my heated seat on passenger side where it is rarely used. All repairs over $1100.

44 Seats problem of the 2009 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 04/10/2014

The second row seat belts that were listed on the NHTSA website for a recall. The dealer bergstron GMC of appleton, wisconsin says the vehicle does not have a recall for this. The seat belts get jambed when the seat is lowered. One seatbelt connector is broken, and the seat is tearing from the belt connectors. The connectors still get jambed in the seat and are not accessible without having to re lower the seats and funble with the belt connector. At least one of the connector is exposed with no plastic.

45 Seats problem of the 2011 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 04/01/2014

My wife and I were stopped waiting to make a left turn into service station, car behind me was also stopped, 3rd car back rear ended him who rear ended me. Because the head rest leans forward so much my wife upon impact began screaming then crying stating the back of her head hurt. After police arrived I took her to er than later to family doctor. Ct scan and mri both revealed she has brain concussion. Some days she spends all day in bed with bad pains in her head.

46 Seats problem of the 2011 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 10/27/2013

This is my car, but my husband and I tried to take a long trip in the car and my husband found that he was not a safe driver due to the uncomfortable head rest design. My husband is 6' 4" tall and the Acadia head rest pushes his head forward and down at an awkward angle. This causes him to be fatigued, get a headache from holding his head at an awkward position and does not allow him to look through his glasses correctly. This is an unsafe situation for a driver during a long trip. I contacted gm to see if we could get a different head rest that would be safe and comfortable for a tall driver but they said that they couldn't help us. They did admit that my husband is not the only driver who has experienced this problem.

47 Seats problem of the 2011 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 07/12/2013

Seat belt latch cable for middle row drivers side seat fails. Cable seems to be stretching out on regular basis. This is going to be the 2nd cable replacement since purchasing the vehicle in August 2010. Had cable replaced in July 2013 and used middle row seat approximately 6 times since then but cable stretched and latch failed again. This failure could result in serious injury in the case of a head on collision as passengers in drivers side middle row seat could be hurled forward if seat is not latched appropriately.

48 Seats problem of the 2012 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 06/20/2012

The contact owns a 2012 GMC Acadia. While stopped at a traffic light, the driver seat moved and adjusted on its own when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The seat moved backwards and further away from the steering wheel. The contact stated that the seat slid and tilted. The failure recurred several times. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle made an unusually loud noise when the remote engine start feature was activated. The dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of the failures. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 10.

49 Seats problem of the 2009 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 02/23/2012

Rust on seat hinges on front driver side, front passenger side. Will the surface rust eats into the metal hinges and fail to hold passenger in case there is a collision?.

50 Seats problem of the 2010 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 01/14/2012

I had some warranty work perform on my 2010 GMC Acadia. I received my car back from the dealership and needed to reinstall my two forward facing car seats in the second row seats for my two children. I had buckled my 2 year old child in the installed car seat behind the driver's seat while I was doing other work in the car. At some point, I pushed the driver's seat memory button 1 which had been set for my driving preferences. I didn't notice that the seat moved backwards and also into a recline as a result of the automated memory seat. I only noticed when my child began screaming because the driver's seat back was pushing into her legs and continuing to move into her. She was thankfully not seriously injured as a result of this, but I am concerned that she could have been. After the incident, I estimated that she had about 2 inches of space for her legs between the back of the driver's seat and her car seat. The memory seat settings were not set as I expected when I pushed the button, but it seems to me that any setting should never allow it to automatically push into a child's legs to the point that she could be injured.

52 Seats problem of the 2008 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 05/06/2008

2008 GMC Acadia has several problems with safety recalls and dealership response. Water entered through the passenger side roof. The tire pressure monitoring light illuminated. The driver seat made a noise while being adjusted and there was a noise coming from the steering column when it was cold. The radio and navigation screen went out and the drivers seat did not move. Updated 01/23/09.

53 Seats problem of the 2008 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 04/01/2008

I purchased a new 2008 GMC Acadia in sept. Of 2007 and I have had several problems with is sense buying. The biggest problem is my second row of seating it has a 60/40 split and the 60 portion pops up all the time even when an adult is sitting on it. I have taken to two different GMC dealerships 7 times and no one can find anything wrong. I even contacted gm's main office and they said they can not do anything until the service dept. Finds a problem. Their only suggestion was to take it to a third dealer and see if they can find what's wrong. I feel that is a very unfair to me because that just means I have to drive further to find a dealer and waste more time on something that should have been fixed a year and a half ago. I have 3 kids and they can not even sit on that seat because you never know when its going to catapult them up and into the back of the drivers seat. We can't even put our youngest carseat in the seat. This has just been very upsetting and I am tired of dealing with gm and the salesperson I bought the car from is the one who suggested I contact you. Again we bought this car brand new. The other things that are wrong is I still have water leaking in the top of the drivers window when it's sitting during a hard rain,, my fan motor for the a/c and heat goes up and down all by it's self and paint is peeling off the hood. These are things I guess I can deal with but the seat has got to get corrected. I hope you can help, thank you and look forward to hearing from someone.

54 Seats problem of the 2007 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 11/30/2007

Several issues with this new 2007 GMC Acadia. Most prevalent is the failure of the gas gauge not reading the gas reading correctly. 1st time noticed and taken for service was 3 mo. Old. The gas gauge reads (e) when I've just filled up the tank. Dealer replaced 02 sensors. 1 mo later experience same issue. Gas gauge reads (e) even when tank is full. Taken back to dealer and this time replace (2) O2 sensors and the "sending unit". 2 days later, with the gas gauge reading at half full, the car lunges forward into another gear on freeway in traffic, and stalls. Cannot turn car on - all warning lights on. Towed to dealer. Now states that I need a whole new gas tank because the "baffle" is broken? still at the dealer and is unresolved. This car is unsafe. Previous issues: car leaks at the sunroof. Not fixed yet lumbar support broken - somewhat fixed but still not like the new ones on the lot. Lumbar handle fell off - replaced backup sensors fell off of bumper - replaced seat tracks jerk - replaced both driver and pass. Still not smooth but dealer says that's the best they can do.
