Starter Problems of GMC Acadia

On 2/6/20 after getting into my vehicle and turning on the ignition vehicle wouldn't start so the same day I had my vehicle towed to a certified dealer in union. At the dealer they first stated the ground wire to starter was chewed up so they replaced the starter and then a few hours later they stated no comunication with ecm & bcm. They then stated theyfound water intrusion on passage side fuse block that shorted out the ecm and bcm. At dealer they replaced fuse block, ecm and bcm. Well after $2027. 05 later they was able to get my vehicle running again but now the car radio and my onstar in vehicle don't work, also traction control,,stabilitrak , abs & airbag service lights are on. Two weeks later my car battery died so I replaced dead battery with a new one. My thing is this if all these are issues that people all over are complaining about I truly think all these issues should be addressed and fixed a. S. A. P. Before someone gets hurt or killed. By the way I just brought 2012 GMC arcadia on Nov. 27,2019 and I shouldn't have to be going out of my pocket trying to get all these issues fixed.

Truck wont crank! new battery, starter & alternater passed. Boosted it off cranked straight up, parked for a hour, wouldn't crank again. Vehicle was stationary in a parking lot.

During times of heavy rain or when driving through a car wash, water enters vehicle interior. Water can be heard moving around in headliner of rear while vehicle being driven. With vehicle in motion water can be seen leaking out of air bag label on driver side panel between windshield and door. Inspected drain tubes from sunroof and found them to be completely clogged. Upon clearing debris clogging the tubes an exessive amount of water came shooting out and tubes drained for about an hour a non stop stream. Approximately a week or so later, started having problems starting vehicle. Tested battery and it was fine. Tested alternator and starter, both fine. Two weeks later car wouldn't start again. Upon aaa arriving to jump my vehicle we discovered the entire battery compartment behind passenger seat was completely filled and battery submerged in water. Further inspection found entire floor board saturated and headliner. Mold was also found on seats, seat belts, carpet, air vents, sun visors, and door panels.

Have hade it in shop several time but has not been fixed . They keep saying it somethings else ever time. Removed remote started didn't help. Took radio fuse out didn't help . Car will not start when it sits for a day or two something is draining the battery when it sits. An the dealer always say its somethings else its somethings. I'm tired of dealing with these people about my GMC Acadia. . The dvds player went out warranty won't cover it radio won't turn off warranty won't cover it warranty didn't cover removing the remote starter. Will not buy another GMC at all . Would like to know where I can sue the company an GMC warranty place. If anyone can help me please let me know who to contact to sue the company. Ms skeens. Had the problem for a 1 1/2 now.

On 9/23/10 my wife exited our 2010 GMC Acadia leaving the keys partially inserted into the ignition. Today 9/24/10 she heard a noise in the garage. When she opened the door she found the vehicle trying to start by itself. We do not have a remote starter installed. She removed the keys and took them back into the house. If the vehicle had started during the night while we were sleeping I may not have been able to send you this message. Later when I returned home I called the dealership where we purchased the Acadia and reported the incident to their service specialist. They had not heard of this problem before. Has this problem been reported to NHTSA?.

My complaint concerns my 2008 Acadia delivered sept. 2007. Currently with less than 5,900 miles on it. It is now in the shop for failure to start for the third time. The battery is somehow being dischanged. Other than replacing the original battery, on the first occurance, the dealer service can not seem to track down the source of the problem. They say that the charging system checks out ok. It does seem to start fine for a while, several weeks, then all of a sudden it will have a dead battery over night. Nothing is ever left on. I check that each time the garage door is closed. The headlights always go out in one minute, if on. While driving I do notice the voltmeter on numerous occassions well stay at about +15 volt charging rate. I know that it should be no higher than about +13. 5 volts, and sometimes it does, but most times, not. I am concerned about a possible fire danger and being stranded somwhere. I am an aircraft a&p. My trouble shooting thoughts point to a starter shorting. I could be wrong but I would start there and prove that not to be the problem. Easiest fix first, the air force way.
