1 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2012 GMC Canyon

Failure Date: 12/09/2018

Truck will not start intermittently. Completely inoperable for several minutes, then will start up with absolutely nothing differently done to it. Left me and my kids stranded several times. Appears to be a passlock anti theft problem. Many, many complaints online with the exact same problem. This is unsafe for children to be subjected to!!! if anything happens to my children while stranded this complaint will be used in a lawsuit against general motors!!! spent hundreds of dollars to fix problems to no avail. It's no longer about the money, but the general safety of the public and their children!!! recall this vehicle and make us whole!!!.

2 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2004 GMC Canyon

Failure Date: 11/01/2011

My 2004 GMC Canyon has, for the past year, quit starting due to anti theft passlock system installed on truck. I have on two separate occasions thus far been involved in an emergency situation that could have been further prevented but the anti theft passlock stopped me from starting the vehicle. This specifically is a widespread problem that gm is aware of and has made no recall to date on the issue. There are safety and emergency situations being caused by this defect. Please research and assist any way possible.

3 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2009 GMC Canyon

Failure Date: 01/01/2011

Anti-theft system would not allow the truck to start, then once started the entire dashboard components failed no speedometer, fuel, temp or air conditioner would work, also the traction control went into alarm. . . GMC people said they could not see any alarm codes and failed to repair the anti-theft system. . . Recommended I get on-star to help identify the problem. . I did, it failed again and on-star saw the codes however GMC says they cannot trust on-star findings, even though they recommended them which is costing me $30. 00 a month to monitor their vehicles warranty. . Still driving a truck that sometimes does not start and the entire dashboard shuts down while driving. . . Very dangerous.
