GMC Envoy owners have reported 4 problems related to brake abs warning light (under the service brakes category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I just had my brakes serviced and my bushings changed, but my abs light still comes on. Also when I go to brake the car starts to shake and I'm going the speed limit. The engine has a rough idle, and shuts off when at a complete stop and when the vehicle is in motion. I've had many things replaced on the vehicle, such as purge valve, gas cap. Charcoal canister and fuel tank. In the engine the spark plugs were changed as well as the coil packs and the fuel injectors. Along with the camshaft sensor. Still getting p0455 and po0014. Won't pass smog can't register vehicle, but my only means of transportation. 2004 GMC Envoy xuv slt 4dr 2wd.

The abs light stayed on after the fact I had the breaks serviced a few years ago. The airbag light has been on for about a year. Now my break light stopped working, I replaced the fuse and still not working and now the headlamps stopped working. They only work on high beam.
My complaint is about the abs brakes warning light and the feel of the brakes while in motion. When coming to a stop, reachibg 5mph, the brakes performance is feeling a resistant andjerky. It is as if the brakes do not want to press all the way down when completely stopping. The warning light on my dash says, "service abs brakes. " this is a rather scarey feel coming from the brake peddle.

When having my 02' Envoy serviced and state inspection by my GMC dealer the service manager called and told me, I would need to r/r my front rotors. The pads were half worn but the rotors smooth surface did not exist. It looked like they were not machined thoroughly. Ser. Mgr thought I lived near the shore, stating salt water would usually causes this. I do not live near the shore and do not go the beach. I drive this vehicle to and from work all highway driving. My vehicle has 41225 mi and has always been serviced by gm. I have owned gm vehicles for 38 yrs and the cars with rotors never looked like this. This looks like a manufacturing imperfection. From reviewing the odi list for this vehicle, others have also documented similar complaints. If I did not bring the vehicle in for the state inspection I would never have know this defect existed. This gave me neither warning in braking, stability nor squealing/ticking from early warning system. I should had asked for old rotors or taken a picture. Front rotors and pads replaced at my expense.
