- the contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy denali. There was a vibration in the vehicle when the gas pedal was applied while traveling between 30 and 40 mph. The vehicle would also vibrate at any speed. It felt and sounded as if it needed to shift gears, as in a manual vehicle, but was in the wrong gear. It was involved in a crash in November 2006. Two dealers stated that there was a technical service bulletin that referenced the failure, but there was nothing they could do to correct it. When engaging the brake the vehicle would move forward and a noise could be heard. The noise frequently occurred after a quick stop. This failure had occurred during the same period of time. The dealer diagnosed the failure, and stated they have repaired the noise, but it continued to occur. The current mileage was 14,000, and the failure mileage was 13,118.

The vehicle was in service 3 times within 14 days, gm says the problem was the ignition switch, I say the source of the problem has not been fixed. Engine stalled 6 times in moving traffic, the "abs" warning light is on, some time the "check engine soon" light comes on. Dealer replaces throttle body injection assembly. Next day the vehicle stalls again with same symptoms. Dealer replaced ignition switch again. !4 hours later engine stalls in moving traffic. Dealer installs event recording device, engine stalls and identified low ignition voltage (6. 7 vs 13. 6 vdc). Source of problem could not be identified, dealer says vehicle is safe to drive. We filed a lemon law claim.

When vehicle is stopping, it feels as though the brakes are releasing some sort of air. We then have to lift off of the brake in order to fully stop. This has been a problem when trying to make sudden stops.
GMC 2004 Envoy xl SUV has repeated stopping problems at low speed. Brake peddle has excessive travel and coast through stop signs at low speed. Experienced near misses with cars in parking lots. Brake peddle collapses to floor at stop lights and signs when stopped. False abs activation on dry pavement.
Vehicle: n04 GMC Envoy VIN: 1gkes12s646223199 the above vehicle was purchased 12/31/04 and was totaled 5/05. My son was driving the vehicle and witness say the brakes had locked and caused my son to go into a slide and the vehicle fell down the side of the hill. The vehicle had performed a 180 and rolled down the hill. The air bags and on star did not deploy. Gmac investigated the incident and indicated that there were no recall and the brakes showed no cracks. The investigator 813-731-3051 and photos of the area show the brakes had locked. Gmac refuses to share the investigative report.
2003 general motors GMC Envoy xl did not provide sufficient braking when brakes were strongly applied in a low speed (10-15 mph) sudden stop resulting in a minor front end collision with the back of another vehicle that came to an abrupt stop. Even though the brake pedal was strongly applied, the vehicle took more distance to stop then expected. Vehicle was taken to dealership for inspection, but dealership did not acknowledge finding any problem. This vehicle does not have adequate stopping power in emergency situations.
When reaching a stop sign consumer applied pressure on the brakes, instead of vehicle coming to a stop, it accelerated and ran onto two curbs, finally crashing into a play ground.
Consumer stated the rotors and brakes were rusted. This resulted in extended stopping distance.
While applying the brakes pedal went to the floor. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection. Mechanic informed consumer that the problem could not be duplicated.
2002 GMC Envoy xl - the consumer is having the same problem as the larger GMC vehicles that were recalled regarding the anti- lock braking system. While driving at high speed the vehicle starting slowing down and locked up. The consumer was able to drive to the dealer. The anti- lock brakes were repaired on the truck at a cost of $1400. The consumer had the repair done about a year ago. There was no recall on the Envoy for the abs.
Several months ago while driving at any speed and when depressing the brakes consumer felt pulsation in the brake pedal. Currently, when the brakes are depressed the pulsation is very severe. Dealer has made an appointment to examine the vehicle. Pulsation occurred fifty times in the last few months.
My wife was driving around 35 mph during a clear day when suddenly the steering wheel of our 2003 GMC Envoy started wobbling and she couldn't control it anymore. She stepped on the brakes but the vehicle wouldn't stop. The vehicle went over the curb and initially hit a utility pole on the left passenger side, then eventually hit the tree with the front bumper and knocked the two stationary objects down. Surprisingly, the airbag didn't even deploy. The insurance company declared the vehicle total wrecked and unrepairable. As expected, GMC declined responsibilities. They sent a so called independent investigator but they wouldn't give me his phone number. The report they sent contained only raw data about the airbag and nothing about the steering wheel. I will never buy or recommend a GMC again.
The contact states the abs brakes are not activating properly. The brakes will not hold. The vehicle was taken to the dealership multiple times. They have been unable to diagnose the cause of the problem.
While traveling mph and when depressing brakes pedal traveled to the floorboard which caused extended stopping distance resulting into a crash.
