As I was driving down I-75 at 10:30pm my headlights just randomly went off! I was driving approximately 70 mph and I was in an area that had no lights alongside the road. I slammed on my brakes to attempt to move to the side of the road. After I slowed enough to move over, my headlights went back on. I was so shook up, I'm not sure if my rear lights went off as well. This type of incident happened again this past weekend and I had to pull to the side of the road and actually shut off the engine and re-start my car twice before my lights went back on. Today, on my way to work, in the dark, just before I was puling into our parking lot, they went off again. I also have noticed that when I press on the automatic window buttons, my lights dim and then brighten. Another issue is the dash light for the gas cap turns on and off randomly while driving the car. In addition, my air bag light has been on for several months, does not go off and yet, it not included in the recall of the dangerous airbags going off randomly and causing accidents and injuries. All of the above issues have occurred while the vehicle was in motion. I'm not sure if these are related or not. All of the issues are very serious safety issues and need to be addressed.

Highly dangerous situation! as I was driving at night on the highway, my headlights suddenly went out. Thankfully, I was in an area that had some overhead lighting or I would have been in a life-threatening situation. The only way I could see was to turn on the high beams. Now I cannot drive the car at night any longer unless I use the high beams at all times. When I called to find out if this issue, which as a safety one should be a manufacturer recall, I found that, while the car make/model/year in general was under a recall, my VIN was not. How can this be? I request that the recall for this serious issue be added for all 2007 GMC Envoys. Our lives are at risk! thank you.

Headlights have shutdown and only brigh lights function gm has a recall on the 2007 gmzc Envoy for this specific problem but when I enter the VIN I provided it does not direct me to this specific recall I think my VIN should be covered since I read that approximately 318,000 Envoys are under recall I appreciate your consideration into my request.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Envoy. While driving 45 mph, the head lamps turned off without warning. As a result, the contact had to drive with the high beam headlights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v519000 (exterior lighting). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 145,000.
My headlights went out the other night, I had to drive 30 miles with my highbeams on. Both headlights and daytime running lights are out. Same issue as recall #15v599000 , but I am being told there are no outstanding recalls on my vehicle? seems to me it should be covered, definite safety issue.
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Envoy. The contact stated that the headlights randomly shorted out more than twice. The contact replaced the #46 fuse for the relay due to the failure but was uncertain if the low beams would fail again. The manufacturer excluded the vehicle from a recall. The recall details were unknown. The failure mileage was 120,000.
While driving, in pitch black darkness on 6/10/2016 around 1:00 am, my headlights suddenly went off. The only way I could obtain lights was using the high beams. Low beams do not work and high beam only works in manual on/off mode. We checked the lamps and fuses. All are in excellent condition. I have no lights while driving or in park. The side view mirrors move on there own and at any time, while driving , in park and when the car is not running. This has been going on since the door panel recall was repaired. The dealer has informed me that there is no recall on that either. Last year (2015) I had to replace the airbags (suspension) on both rear wheels. The car would drop down lower than any mid size car. Once started the bags would inflate but the car may drop at any give time while driving. Gm did not cover this cost and the dealer wanted over $1200. 00 to repair. Prior to that the gas gauge quit working. Which gm did cover the repair cost but I never received a recall. I just happened to be at the dealer for the driver door recall and mentioned it.
When driving the vehicle all dash lights and gauges just stop working. They will come back on but this is a safety concern while driving on the highway. Also my headlights go on and off I have changed out the bulbs thinking that was the issue and no its not. On my way to work this morning at 530am they stopped and have not turned back on causing me to pull over and now missing work to figure out the problem. This has been an ongoing issue since the beginning of June and the problem seems it's getting worse. I can't drive 70 mph on a highway and have my headlights just stop working. I also smell gasoline inside my vehicle frequently.

Reading numerous complaints that compare to mine the fuel gauge, oil gauges, air conditioner are all malfunctioning in my car and I'm very upset because all of this should have been recalled. I purchased my car brand new in 2005 and I will never buy a GMC car again for this reason it's one thing to recall repair parts that were broken that to repair malfunction parts. Very disappointed. In short my gauges don't work, my air conditioner only works on one side and now my headlights low bean don't work. GMC needs to recall and repair.
