2 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2005 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 01/05/2009

I have a 2005 GMC Envoy. I am having problems with my shift lever; it goes in park and stays there for about three minutes before it releases the key (to be taken out of the ignition). When I start the truck, it will not go into any gear for about three minutes, then I hear a click which then release the shift so it can be moved into another gear. It began about two months ago and has gotten worst over time. Once in any gear accept park it can be shifted to another gear without any strain. The consequence of this problem is not being able to get out the vehicle with my key once in park until after the lever cable "snaps in place. " I have not been able to do much of anything about it thus far due to financial difficulties.

3 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2003 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 03/07/2008

The contact owns a 2003 GMC Envoy. The contact smelled gasoline, but did not pay it any attention initially. His son entered the vehicle later and also smelled the strong odor. The following day the contact filled up the tank with gasoline and the smell intensified. When he arrived home, he noticed a fuel leak by the rear driver side wheel. A mechanic stated that the leak originated from the top of the fuel tank where the fuel pump connects. The contact dropped the vehicle off at the dealer the next day and they stated that the leak originated from the gas tank, and it needed to be completely replaced. The vehicle is still at the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 59,000. Updated 04/16/08. The transmission was slipping and would not engage in 1st gear. The air condtion was blowing hot air. The ignition swithc shorted out.
