Two problems related to anti-lock brakes fail have been reported for the 1997 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Anti-lock brake system fails repeatedly. Upon applying brakes the brakes do not engage. The anti-lock system cycles repeatedly and unnecessarily, causing extended stopping distances. Narrowly averted accidents a number of times.
Anti lock brakes failed resulting in vehicle accident (attorney for consumer).
