Three problems related to anti-lock brakes fail have been reported for the 2000 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer complaint concerning the antilock brakes which malfunctioned prior to recall notification. The recall work was done but the same day the antilock brakes failed again. The vehicle was returned to the dealer . The dealer claimed there was nothing more they could do.
2 separate occasions for anti-lock brake failure on GMC 2000 Sierra 1500 for corrosion, 7/1/2004 and 10/6/04. Replaced hubs. VIN 2gtek19t8y127.
Drp in anti-lock braking system fails. It is a design problem new with the 2000 models. Check GMC technical service bulletins.
