Two problems related to brake loud noise have been reported for the 2000 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving and applying brakes vehicle produces a loud noise, then, pedal goes to the floor. Extended stopping distance is necessary for brakes to perform. Dealer notified.
Encountered total brake failure while braking on an off ramp. Approximate speed was 25 mph. When attempting to brake, abs module emitted a loud noise, brake pedal remained firm but total brake loss on all 4 wheels encountered. Evasive steering and release of brake pedal restored vehicle braking and avoided contact with other vehicles.
