1 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/12/2015

Exiting off freeway ramp in indianapolis brake pedal went to the floor without notice and no brake fluid loss, nearly crashed crossing 5 lanes of cross traffic just lucky I wasn't broadsided by cross traffic. I received no notice of hazard from gm, no recall and only learned of this problem once researching on web. I am lucky to be alive.

2 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2014

Abs activates (noticed by pulsing brake peddle) when moving slowly to a stop on dry clean pavement. Occurs randomly when slowly coming to a stop.

3 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2013

As I applied the brakes, the brake pedal went to the floor and my vehicle did not stop. Thankfully there were no cars coming as I went through the stop sign. My brake indicator lights came on the dash. I was able to limp the truck back the 1. 5 miles to my house. Now I am learning that this has been a common problem with the GMC's. I have taken it to a shop and they have informed me that all the lines are rusted and brittle!.

4 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 08/07/2012

Due to corrosion the brakes line burst causing a complete braking failure - no warning lamps illuminated!!! the lines corroded completely in the holders which attach to the vehicles frame. Under moderate stopping pressure the lines burst! all metal lines need to be replaced from the front of the vehicle to the rear. Truck has never been exposed to extreme weather or salt while in my ownership. This is completely and utterly unacceptable.

5 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/26/2009

Going down the road pulling a trailer, went to brake and the brakes went to the floor. Ended up having to use the trailer brakes to stop.

6 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2006

: the contact stated while depressing the brake pedal at 30mph or less, the vehicle sometimes requires an extended stopping distance and the brake pedal goes to the floor. As a result, the stopping distance was increased to avoid possible collisions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times for inspection. The dealer determined the vehicle was operating normally and no repairs were made.

7 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2004

My 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 has a "clunking" sound, coming from the steering column, when I turn the steering wheel while the vehicle is moving. Also, my front brakes have a "rubbing sound" and the peddle gets "spongy" when I activate the brakes at a low speed.

8 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2003

Must apply great amount of pedal effort to stop, pedal feels like sponge, auto dealer says there`s no problem, also dealer says recall #04004 dosn`t apply to my truck.
